Good ratings, given the lack of conversation on this topic, I thought maybe no one watched:

Good ratings, but not spectacular. I was expecting 14-15 million viewers, considering it was the most hyped new show of the year. But I'm sure ABC is very
happy with these ratings. Of course the big question is how many people will stick around next week.

I will, SG24.
Hey GiGi!! Hey giraffe! I agree that stadium guy looked too tall to be DominicM. Anyone catch any easter eggs? I wouldn't know wtf to look for. The kangaroo? I thought maybe there was a zoo nearby and some animals got loose, may not be anything. Everything that jumped out at me was Lost-ish. Kangaroo - Australia? Cindi would cut me for even thinking that. Significance of numbers/time/date - 2mins 17 secs, 4/29/10 Oceanic sign Both had a suicidal doctor (not an easter egg, just a similarity) Dumb thing to miss, but where does the main story take place? LA? They def. hit the pilot out of the park I thought.Uh huh.

I get the LOST echoes...and the FF chararacterizations are lacking at this point.
But for all the intensity of the LOST pilot, the characters were mostly cyphers. Sure there were mysteries, but the wonder of S1 was that cliches of the loudmouthed redneck, the terrorist-looking Iraqi and creepy survivalist bald guy who liked oranges became full flesh and blood characters we intensely identified with. That wasn't the case in the pilot. I will give FF sometime, but they do have to step up their game a bit. |

Hey Misterpuff, ready for me to kick yer butt in the S6 Challenge? :)
No show will ever be as good as Lost. I'm not looking for another Lost, just another damn good show that will have me in front of the tv every week. At this point I don't watch anything I can't miss. (until Lost comes back) Anyway, I'm not sure what you expected from the flash forwards we saw. How were they lacking? We can't get everything all in one episode. Is that FBI d.ude ever gonna admit he read the news on the shitter? |

Hi Felicia! Yes - I believe LA was the setting. I was wondering that myself until late in the episode when, after getting phone service back, someone said
something to the effect of 'I just talked to so-and-so in San Diego. It's not just LA...'
I'll have to rewatch, but until then, can someone tell me what that d.ude who didn't see anything in his flash forward fiance said she saw in hers? Was it their wedding? If so, what do you make of that? |

Definitely a Jericho vibe for me, except better IMO. Dunno if I'm alone in this but I like the way they left the character development out of the premiere.
Anticipating lots of character development and revealing flashbacks in coming eps.

I agree there will never be another LOST, but there could be a show that has the style, passion and intelligence of LOST, and I await to see to see it. (When I'm not watching Fringe). BTW is there a Detroit Tigers home game scheduled for April 30, 2010? eta grammar correction

I enjoyed the premier. I thought the guy at the stadium could be the boy's father too. It's probably more likely someone we haven't seen yet
though. Maybe it's Jacob. Some of the dialogue was a little cliche, but the premise was definitely interesting.
I can't believe I missed the Oceanic sign. The hiatus is making me sloppy. |

Missed this last night. Had to watch Survivor. (No DVR) But they're repeating it tonight at 7 Central so I'm gonna watch. I hope they do a repeat every
Friday night. It's a better night for me.

The guy in the stadium has to either be Dom or Jack Davenport. Just based on their convo's in the previews.

I hate this show so much. I'm completely expecting it to fail miserably.
The more ABC is anticipating another LOST, the more they won't get it. Another hit show will come when they least expect it. |

I definitely will be watching this over "Survivor" from now on. It was really good and I love everyone on the cast-Joseph Fiennes and John Cho were
really good. I HATE that people keep comparing this to "Lost" and every other show that has a sci-fi element to it. "Invasion," "The
Nine," "Heroes," etic were also compared to "Lost" when they first came out and it's annoying as shit. And it's not to take
away from "Lost," because it's my favorite show ever and I think it took TV to a whole new level, but I hate the comparisons.

In outstanding news for ABC, the debut of highly touted drama FlashForward finished first in the overnights at 8 p.m., with a 7.6 rating/13 share. Comparably,
that outdeliverd the year-ago season-opening episode of former occupant Ugly Betty (6.7/11 on Sept. 25, 2008) by 13 percent, and it bested CBS' competing
Survivor: Samoa (6.0/10) by 27 percent. I cannot remember the last time a regularly scheduled ABC series beat Survivor. Year-to-year, meanwhile, Survivor:
Samoa was down by 20 percent from the season set in Gabon (7.5/12 on Sept. 25, 2008),

Someone suggested that the injured kid's father (Lloyd Simcoe, played by Jack Davenport) could be Walking Dude, the only man moving, who was seen on the
stadium cam in Detroit. Dude would've had to get from Detroit to LA. Planes would have been grounded after the 877 airplane incidents, and some of the
country was under martial law. Unless he has superpowers, I'm thinking he's not our man.
Air Force 2, "The Veep was on board." Regarding the significance of the number 137, check this. http://www.fotuva.org/online/frameload.htm?/online/137.htm |
