I think a huge reason I rate Probst higher than most other hosts is that I can actually see him watching and caring about Survivor even if he'd never had anything to do with it.

Phil's nice/charming/professional, but has no idea what makes for a good dramatic TV show- all he seems to care about it great scenery and "inspirational" () stories, as you'd expect from his No Opportunities Wasted philosophy. And all the other hosts have much easier jobs that just involve showing up at a studio for a few hours.

I think the only good thing I remember from his blog was the quote from the Romania leg of someone saying "my Superwoman leotard is full of poop". But it never showed up in the episode and Phil never bothered to reveal who said it
