Blueberry, my understanding is that the Vegas thing took off after BB8. Dick was instrumental in getting that one going, mostly for BB8ers & past HGs to
get together to party. Then organizers got into the act since they usually hold functions in various US & Canadian cities where fans can meet former HGs.
This Vegas thing has continued to grow. It's become THE thing to do for former HGs.
Organizers usually furnish the flights & hotel rooms for the HGs & in return they make themselves available for the fans to meet & take pics with. This year it has expanded even more with the backing of RealPlayer (which is providing live feed coverage of the events) & other businesses. Now they include free giveaways & use proceeds towards a couple of charities. They had a meet & greet last night for the fans & tonight will be a huge party. If you paid for the feeds you can watch live feed coverage on RealPlayer. |

Not worth it mick. The video is horrible (too dark) & the audio is fucked. All you can really hear is a huge crowd murmur with an occational recognizible
voice coming through. Last night's meet & greet was put on about about 2 hours late due to "techinical difficulties".

This setup would have worked better is they had a red carpet interview gauntlet to run and had Ross Matthews out there interviewing everyone as they went into
the party. The sound would have been better, the lighting, and Ross is a hard core, funny fan. They need to bring back housecalls and have Ross host it next
year.
