Celine should have dressed in a beautiful white dress to match Elvis' white suit. She looked cheap next to him in her outfit. Even the contestants wore all white. Celine was disappointing, and distracting from the hologram. However, Celine is still a great singer.
Elvis was hot--the hologram was surreal. It was chilling seeing the dead man sing. Elvis would have owned that whole night if Idol allowed him to perform alone. The Elvis estate should make a Hologram Elvis concert and take it on the road. That would be HOT! |

They have a hologram Elvis concert. It includes all his original backup singers, living band members, etc. It was also shown on PBS not long ago. Look for it. I mentioned it above. It goes all over the world.

Quote: This was probably true. I have read that Parker could never apply for a passport or leave the U.S. as he came here illegally as a young boy or man, and was deathly afraid that he would be found out and deported. This was supposedly the reason he made Elvis pay every bit of income tax owed without trying to find write-offs, and why he advised Elvis not to try to get out of the draft. Parker was afraid of any investigation that might discover his immigration status. |

I was listening to All Elvis on Sirius Radio and George Klein loved the Celine/Elvis performance and watched it 3 times in a row. I really liked it too and it looked surreal. I read an expert figures it costed between $50,000 to $100,000 to produce the halogram effect and they did a great job. The TCB band didn't do a halogram concert. It was a big screen in the middle up high on the stage. It looked fake as a $3 dollar bill. They used Elvis in Hawaii and Thats The Way It Is performances so he had on different jumpsuits through out the performances. I know they were hyping it up that it give you the illusion Elvis was up on stage, but it looked fake as shit, but I still enjoyed the DVD. Its called Elvis Lives "The 25th Anniversary concert".

That's true. Only it wasn't as a young boy, it was as an adult. Colonel Tom Parker, who everybody thought was a Southern guy, was from Holland, and several of the books mention he was involved in a murder or something before he made his way illegally to the U.S. So he could never leave the country or he would have been found out. |

There were a few different rumors about Parker not wanting to leave the country. Who knows what the truth is. Its really too bad Elvis never got the chance to perform outside the U.S. He did do 3 concerts in Canada in 1957. In Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver. Those were his only performances outside the U.S. There is actually a little audio clip online of the concert in Toronto here archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-68-...vis_canada

ugh, Celine | ||

Loved the Elvis portion (frightfully well done) and hated Celine. Sad that she was the second half of this performance.
I'm so tired of her nasal singing and Diva presence. Being Canadian, I'm proud to say, I'm so over this woman. Props to pulling off the 'Elvis portion'. |

Why did they want to do this? This bugs just like when they had Audrey Hepburn in Gap ads.

Quote: Because it's an effective marketing tool targeted at a specific demographic that has a ton of money to spend. While the under 40 demo obviously makes up quite a bit of the population, there's also much money to be had from the over-40-demo by utilizing the "retro" theme in advertisement/entertainment ventures. Using figures such as Elvis and Audrey Hepburn for example, while possibly silly to many, is actually quite effective in playing on the emotions of sentimentality to many over 40. Re Gap using Hepburn in an advertising campaign. What? You don't think people over 40 shop there? Funny thing occured with the Hepburn exposure though. Many under-30's started dressing similar to how Hepburn had dressed in some of her movies, so what was old became new again (there's an adage based on that very concept). |

Curiousity got the best of me and I YouTubed it to see how the performance went.
I think I only watched it for 20 seconds. I thought it was retarded. |
