Annie Lennox is a great vocal artist. While time has obviously weakened her vocal power, it has deepened her already soulful renditions.
I'm surprised such a raw, sophisticated, and moving performance was on AI. |

Annie Lennox- horrible, her voice was completely shot
Kelly Clarkson- bad, her whole voice sounded hollow, off and empty against the melody and the chorus Carrie Underwood- I was very impressed, but I guess that was a recording so... Rascal Flats- I didn't pay much attention to this performance, I actually got up and left Celine- She did a very good job of balancing and not stepping on the toes of the Elvis hologram. However the Elvis hologram sang poorly- his voice was all scratched out and gone. Josh Grobin- Yeah, he sang well, but total cheese, what a cheesefest Il Divo- what the hell, I've never seen a song butchered in that way before, it was good only in a wtf way |

They should make these old legendy types audition for a part on this kind of thing. She was great 10 years ago but if she was renewing her drivers license with that performance she'd fail.

Don't know if it's true, but I read elsewhere that Anne had throat cancer a while back, which would definitely contribute to having reduced the power of her voice.
Annie is one of the all-time best female singers, and it was kinda sad to see a performance that, let's face it, wasn't really all that, no matter how much of a Lennox fan one might be. Sometimes, ya just gotta call an old shoe an old shoe, and not a shoe that has "character." |

It seemed like Annie was straining, almost screaming, and there was hardly any sound coming out. Maybe the problem was with her mic, I don't know.
