Are you serious? It takes about five hours from the Oregon border to the Bay Area (perhaps even a little less if you don't stop), 6-7 hours from the Bay Area to Orange County, and at most two hours from OC to the border. Its not a 15-16 hour trip.

2) About five hours, more if you reach the valley between 5AM and 10AM and 4PM and 9PM.

4) I don't remember this distance as well, but I think it was around three hours. Don't quote me on that, though.
5) It takes about 9 hours from Grand Canyon National Park to El Paso.
6) This distance is usually measured in DAYS, not hours. It takes about 9-10 hours from El Paso to San Antonio, and around 4-5 hours from San Antonio to Houston. Tack on another hour and a half to get from Houston to the state border.
