If you're still living at home, and that's the ONLY reason I can't imagine you'd need their permission to travel, you have more problems than
just a DUI.

BB - isn't that great? A friend of mine from google told me about it.
But you love me for so much more than that. |

Yesterday, some guy not far from here in Edmonton wrapped his car around a pole after leaving the bar killing one passenger and sending the other to hospital
in critical condition.
I hope they throw the book at ya. |

Depending on how slow or fast that police dept. is working, it could take up to 2 months to get the results.
You will first have to go in front of a District Magistrate, and maybe strike a deal or waive the charges and go to big court. Get a lawyer. If you are in the lowest tier, with nothing else in the system, you can get ARD, fines, no jail. Interlock is for high BAC or 2nd offense. Good luck there. |

thanks travelrachel. i would much rather spend like a day or 2 in jail rather than have my license suspended...i wonder if i could do something like that in
addition to the ARD.

No way can you get out of suspended license. That shit is automatic once you get to court.
I'm pretty sure. |

You should have refused the field sobriety test, the breathalizer and the blood test. Dumbass.

I wouldn't use my timeline as a guideline, to be honest. The police officer was telling me that Centre County only has hearings one day in the week, with a
single courthouse that handles them for the entire county, and they get a lot for DUI cases because of State College. No idea what the process is like for
other counties. If your hearing is during your vacation, you're going to hate life when you get back.
If you're going to hide this from your parents, you should kick your responsibility into high gear. Start looking into some DUI attorneys in your area now. For real though...just tell them and hope they cut you a break and let you go with them. You're trying to balance a 6 day forgettable vacation and your responsibility to get out of this as unharmed legally as possible. The former affects your attitude for a couple days, the later has some serious consequences if you ignore it. |

Punta Cana in august is a sauna. It's even too hot to get into the pool. The ocean is marginally cooler (like 90 degrees). You'd be more comfortable in
a nice air-conditioned prison.

MakePaulaCry wrote: True, but for some reason, it's a big deal when it comes to outsiders though. I work with a yank who's been trying to get her 20 year old son up here from Utah who has 2 drunk driving charges, and Immigration Canada said no way. She even hired an immigration lawyer who told her there's not one thing that can be done about it. But yet, they'll keep people here from China who chop off heads on buses. It's a crazy world. |
