it's used in programming and in file names for backup files

search on tilde chat or tilde definition and you'll get a a lot of results
and the reason you didn't get any results is because it's used in computer coding and you're telling google to look for nothing |

I'm a programmer and use it when I address someone in an email.
Putting it at the end of every line does seem to mean, "in a gay voice". |
