But the pain was gone- so I didn't care. Those attacks got bad- really bad.

Posts: 33065 (07/04/09 8:22 PM) Sexy asshole Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	ok i didn't eat today, even though i made marinated steak AND chicken with white bbq sauce. only drank a couple of slim fasts. nothing hurts now, it's just sensy from the attack. i'm not gonna bother the doctor till monday, but then i'm going in. i'm scared shitless of eating right now. i wonder why the attacks only come at night. everyone i know only had attacks at night. i'm the oldest woman in the family to still have a gallbladder. my ma and sister were in their early 30s, and youngest miss dmb was 18.

Really, the surgery is not so bad and trust me that shit gets un-fricking bearable. I will never forget it- childbirth was 10 times more pleasant that those attacks I had pre-surgery. Not eating is one way to avoid the pain- but I have a hunch you won't be able to maintain not eating for very long. Good luck.

It ran in my family also- and women seem to be more susceptible to this than men. =(

The stuff they used to make morphine isn't the good part of the poopy- the best stuff is made with Thebaine- a pain killer that is custom made to send a human being to la-la-land. Best pain meds: 1. OxyContin (ask for 20 to take home - enjoy them- and never ever ever go near them again) 2. Dilaudid (used to be called "Hospital Heroin" - so same rule - you should be able to "it really hurts!!" your way to an IV Dilaudid drip- you won't care about your ciggys then) 3. Percocet 4. Percodan Take home should be Percocets- do not accept anything less. If they will only do Hydros then make sure they are 10mg. Sometimes those fuckers will try to pawn you off with prescription Tylenol after you've had a lung removed or some shit.

If you have to sip the first few bits, it's okay. Just make sure it's as hot as you can stand. Don't let it get cool, it's the heat that relaxes the smooth muscles of the gallbladder. If you have surgery by laparoscope, be prepared for something. They will inject CO2 gas into your belly, to inflate it so they can see what's going on. After the surgery, that gas will have to escape your body somehow, and it comes out through your skin. Hurts like a mutherfukker. It comes out the highest point, so the first few times you sit up after surgery, you will swear the top half of your body is being flayed. Don't go begging for the narcs. Codeine is enough. You've had a baby, don't be a puss.
