LOL she shouldn't worry that her sophmore album is opening to less than half her debut numbers? Even though she has a smash single out right now? Her single Battlefield is #11 on the mediabase charts right now so if the same theory holds true for Jordin that applies to others her sales should be better. and really radio play doesn't pay the bills for labels. They want to see sales.

You got to have massive appeal to sell pop well. That's why acts like Go.ddess Gaga and Perry are huge right now and some others like Clarkson and now Sparks are struggling in sales. Their markets are fickle. I'm sure Jordin will sell consistently small like her last album and go Platinum or reach 750,000 by a year from now or next spring.

Judging by the way her album has performed each week since and she is now selling in the same league as Pickler who opened in the Jordan territory, that tells me that had Kelly not landed Oprah, Idol and SNL...among others she wouldn't have hit 100K in her opening week. Guaranteed. You can just tell by the consistent huge drops week by week and when there is an increase there is always a double digit decrease (almost tripling the increase) to wipe everything clean. Daughtry didn't get idol opral or SNL and still outsold her, which tells me if they had been on those shows their debut week they'd have sold well over 400K. Those are the best shows to promote albums on, the highest rated talk show, coupled with the highest rated TV show, coupled with the highest rated late night comedy show. So you SHOULD still worry. Jordan's sales are bad but I still think Kelly's are worse because she overly promoted and still flopping. She is the first artist to receive A+++++++++ promotion and still flop. They've only given that promo to Daughtry, Carrie and Kelly. Kelly is the only one who's been able to turn full label support into a flop. that takes a special talent and a special dislike by the public. Funniest part is she appeared on Letterman singing this new single that is supposed to make the album sell and she loses 22% in sales. What would the decrease have been had she not been on letterman. 30-40% or did the simple fact that the public saw her and were turned off cause the decrease? I'd believe that if Kelly's projections hadn't been announced before those appearances happened AND if her numbers weren't completely consistent throughout her career. Kelly's sold in almost exactly the same range with all four albums in opening week 250-300K..... As for me worrying, I'll start worrying when I start getting a fucking cut of her sales. Until then I don't fret too much about whether she sells or not as long as I get my copy I'm happy. Now, go find a speeding bus that you can step in front of. kthanx. Two songs not doing well around the world actually chart and one with moderate success (maybe less) actually hits #2. eta: not to mention hoedown throwdown was actually #1 for two weeks here. But I guess we have a smaller market and rarely does any song stay on our charts for 15 weeks or so. I swear we have the most obsessive Idol fans (Archie fans, Adam fans, they're pretty crazy here).
