40. Diddy Kong - DevilChild255 (Bowser's Castle)

Here we have the highest ranking monkey from Bowser's Castle, despite being one of the few to get the boot before me. If you were to ask me why, oh why, I liked Diddy so much, I'd be hard-pressed to give you a clear answer. I'm not entirely sure what it is about Maj's social game that always makes me love her, but it was present in Diddy Kong and it's the reason I can't help but align with her every time we play together. Diddy actually started off the game a bit slow, leading to me developing a much stronger relationship with Donkey and Lanky. But once I got to know him, I really came to appreciate his presence in the game. Sure, I forced him into the role of Lanky's partner because I wanted everyone in the game to fit my totally fabricated structuring of alliances, but even then, I genuinely enjoyed talking to the guy and recognized that had I opted to make him leader of that side of the house or some other more powerful position, we would have been really tight. As I said in my confessional, as much as I liked him, I knew I couldn't grow attached because he just didn't factor into my long-term plans. He was still great to talk to, and I remember really looking forward to finding out who played him, only to discover it was someone I had never even heard of before. Start of a beautiful friendship, that. ;)

Oh, and Diddy was a very active contributor and commenter in the Loser Lodge, giving me plenty of material to read and always speculating about the ongoing game. I respect people who care enough about the game to really follow it once it's over, even if that rarely applies to me.

39. Kelly - survivorjordancontestant (Stranded: All-Stars)

Kelly was a great ally throughout ASS. Unlike many of the players in the game, Kelly was someone I wasn't really familiar with, so I had no idea what to expect from her. I hadn't really paid enough attention to the Bolivia fanfic to know how she had approached that game, and while I remembered sjc's posts on Sucks, I didn't remember enough about them to suggest any particular mindset. So when Kelly ended up on my tribe, she had a blank slate and we had to figure out what to do with it. As it turned out, we ended up growing really close, forming an alliance that took control of the group, and we remained a tight entity all while we were slowly dismantled post-merge. Somehow, I just knew she was always being 100% honest with me. She had no reason to be. When the Bad News Bears took control and held our fates at their mercy, Kelly should have abandoned me like nobody's business. She had no reason to remain loyal at that point, because loyalty would only sink her. But she remained true to the cause and stuck by my side, resulting in her being the second post-merge boot. No, she was never my #1. Her true partnership was with Greg, and that would always come before me. But we still got along really well, and she was still a really loyal player. She was always super nice and super likable, and it's a real shame we didn't get to go farther together.

The reason I can't rank Kelly any higher than this, though, is her decision to vote for Courtney in the F3. I was completely convinced that Shane had that win wrapped up. With the votes he had locked from the Pagonging minority and the surefire split between Melinda and Courtney, I couldn't see the guy losing. And I was really happy about that, because I loved Shane and thought he was a great underdog who had beat the odds (and that Courtney was a complete idiot for letting him into the Final 3 in the first place). There was no way in hell the super loyal Kelly and Greg wouldn't honor the alliance we had clung to all game and vote for anyone besides Shane to win. But Kelly did just that. Can I fault her that much? I suppose not. She just played the rational juror who favored the stronger competitor. I naively failed to recognize just how little Shane had done all game long, whereas Kelly was fully aware that he had been dragged through the game. But still, Shane would have been a fantastic winner, and I have never gotten over my disappointment that he was robbed of that victory by Kelly's one shocking swing vote. Had I had any idea she might vote for someone besides Shane, I would have campaigned a hell of a lot harder for him to win. Oh well.

38. Colossus - YemaGrl1988 (Omni-Survivor)

Finally you can all stop your bitching. Wah, how could you like somebody who didn't last very long? Wah, this is supposed to be like spnintendo's list where you just rank according to boot order! Wah, someone inconsequential was more memorable and enjoyable than me!

Look, obviously Colossus probably doesn't deserve to rank this high. But the dude was funny, and there's no denying that. Best first boot I've ever seen? I think so. Just remember all the great moments he had! Like when the rules thread was posted and everyone was signing in and acknowledging that they had read the rules and all and everyone's posts were in the proper format and Colossus came in and all he said was "hey". But wait, he signed them a couple posts later! Except he spelled his name colsus, lawl. Also in that epic thread? His response to Jubilee calling the Professor cute. Remember it?

Stop being a slut.

So charismatic. <3 And then there was that time we had our first challenge to decide our tribes and Colossus showed up, like, 2 days after it was over with his legendary "What the hell?" His confessional was pretty laffos too, for a first boot. The first two posts in it were "hi." and "i will win." Colossus' winning strategy?

Anyways my strategy for this game is to act like a total dumb ass just so I don't pose a threat. But I will back stab everyone I am aligned with because that's what Splenda did and she got third. I just have to be one step smarter than her.

And then there was this gem:

I'm not really here to play a hardcore game. I mean, I will play but I am not going to make some huge strategy-x files-plot-graph type thing like most people do. I mean, I'm not a fucking calculus teacher.

Colossus was just full of laughs, and if there's one thing I appreciate in an ORG character, it's bringing the funny. He didn't last long, but he was still quite memorable, and I enjoyed his posts much more than most of the players in the game's. So yeah, that makes a #38 ranking pretty warranted, I think.

37. Candace - FranklinBluth (Tocantins)

Candace was another player who didn't last long, but I really enjoyed her while she was in the game, and that's more than enough for me to consider her the 37^th most enjoyable ORG character I've ever competed with. Sure, she was on the anti-Coach side of the tribe, and sure, if she had had her way, I never would have almost made the merge like I did. But unlike Debbie, Candace wasn't targeting me because she hated me. She was targeting me because it made sense, and as boring and unimaginative of a game move as it was, it was still pretty reasonable. Plus, Candace always respected the schtick and always seemed to have fun with it. After voting for me at Timbira's second TC, Candace was sure to apologize to the great Benjamin "Coach" Wade for showing disloyalty. That's more than Brendan ever did. And while we're on the subject of Brendan, can I just point out that Candace easily could have been Tocantins' Brendan had Jalapao elected to kidnap her instead. They chose the other member of the minority, giving him the opportunity to mutiny and survive, but Candace was pretty close to being the game's big character. I think I would have preferred that. Because Candace was really pretty great. She really took charge in challenges, trying to unite the train wreck Timbira and plot out our strategy for victory. She was clearly very intelligent, and I think she probably left the best initial first impression on me. I enjoyed talking to her and I'm sorry she was screwed into being an early boot (although I still fail to see how FB does so well in most games he plays). Had she worked with Coach instead of against him, she might have done even better in this ranking.

36. Sun - Unruly Discharge (Lost/Heroes)

So here's the thing with Sun. I knew I could never trust her. She had no real loyalty to anyone, and while she might have liked me, she never really had my back. She took the role of major shit-stirrer, always telling everyone everything she heard, which served to always keep the target off her back and shift it to someone else's. Pre-merge, she was responsible for things never going the way I wanted them to, informing Ben of my plot to boot him and really doing everything possible to cripple any power base I was trying to establish. I knew right from the get-go that she'd be a thorn in my side and that I could never trust her. She ended up working with that dastardly Ben post-merge, and pretended to be trying to protect me when really she was out for herself and herself alone. But despite all that, I liked her, and I was really sad to see her booted at the Final 4, leaving us with the worst possible F3. She played a damn good game, and honestly, unlike with most of the players in it, I don't know what she should have done differently. She wasn't an OTT character or strategist, but she was out there enough, and she knew when to speak up and when to keep her mouth shut. I honestly thought she would be our winner, but things went awry and she was knocked out as a major jury threat. Our relationship was rocky, yet we knew where each other was coming from and we had a mutual understanding that helped up be very frank with each other in terms of strategy. Sun isn't this high because I loved her character, she's this high because I was really hoping she would win and I think she played a game deserving of victory. I've witnessed UD's other dominant performances and was never that overly impressed with them. But here I think I saw UD at his best, and Sun was a pretty phenomenal player. In fact, it's probably the one character that's most inspired a certain strategy I'll be implementing in a future ORG.
