This, from lostpedia, as a possible explanation for Rousseau claiming never to have seen the others:
In "Dead Is Dead", Ben is ordered to kill both Rousseau and baby Alex by Charles Widmore. Instead, Ben kidnaps Alex and tells Rousseau she can never come looking for Alex, or else they will kill her. He also tells her to "run the other way" if she ever hears whispers. This in part sews up the discrepancies in Rousseau's account in "Solitary" where she claimed never to have seen the Others, only heard them.So maybe she never considered Ben an other. |

Yoshi, that sounds good... except, didn't she specifically say that the OTHERS stole Alex? I can't remember.
If she didn't say it was the Others, maybe she didn't consider Ben an Other. I love this show, even with inconsistencies and long forgotten and unfinished storylines (Libby). |

Plus, when she caught him in her net in season 2, she called him an other. Althought she didn't seem to notice he was the one who stole her baby then, for some reason, even though he was the only other person she had seen for 16 years. |

I know, and that aggravates me even more, that all the inconsistencies in her story, they just write off as "Oh, she's crazy". Drives me nuts.

well, when sayid is first shown ben, he explicitly asks her right away "how do you know he's one of them" and danielle simply replies "i
know" very intently as if theres was something she wasnt saying, when we saw the flashback where alex is stolen it occured to me thats what she meant by
that, so i saw it more as she was covering up the lie when she had told sayid she hadnt seen an other, but still wanted to convince him. id say its more of her
keeping info to herself than her just craziness, i dont think she was a scrazy as she was portrayed to be in the beginning, there was simply more than meets
the eye about her that we didnt know about.

Looks like we're a little behind here, so BUMP.
Anyway...we watched "Born to Run" from Season 1 and noticed that the lunchbox Kate and Tom used for their time capsule was the same lunchbox she stole in the Season 5 finale. Trivia Question: What kind of lunchbox was it? |

Yup.
I watched The Long Con last night. I love that episode, mainly because it's one of the few (imo) where the fb truly ties in perfectly with the island story, and the writers used the fb to tell us exactly what Sawyer was doing on-island. |
