All Cubs fans need to understand one thing: Mark DeRosa is not the guy whose going to put any team over the top. He sure isn't going to hurt the Cards. And he would have looked really good spelling Ramirez for the last few weeks. He would have looked VASTLY better than Milton Bradley has looked, or will look for the rest of the season. It was a stupid trade then, it's a worse trade now. And now it's salt in the wound. And AND he's hot. I'm going to go ahead and second whoever said that.... |

Yowza! Casey McGehee just shot down all the credibility he's racked up since coming to the majors! An error of epic proportions!

Niiiice. It's funny how the Brewers go from being "4 Hit" by a rookie making his first start, to pushing out 7 runs and 14 hits in the first 6
innings against the Mets.

I sure hope the Cubs can make it two in a row. I'm flying to Pittsburgh tomorrow morning to see the game. I had some money in my Southwest account that I
had to use by next month and I got a good rate on Priceline for the Hilton downtown, so I decided to go. I've never been to PNC Park. The tickets seem very
cheap. I'm hoping to snag a Dugout Box seat behind the Cubs' dugout. I'll be back Wednesday morning. Of course, the game better not get rained out.
The forecast isn't looking too good. A top of 67 and

Gee, it would have been nice to have Casey McGhee still on the team to back up at third base for the past two months.
But hey, we've got Miles. Fuck you, Hendry. |

Pirates have been busy:
Yanks get Eric Hinske for two minor leaguers and the Nats get Nyjer Morgan and Sean Burnett for Milledge and Hanrahan. Digging the Nats deal, Eric Hinske is whatever.

In other news…Phillies pitcher J.C. Romero may face battery charges for an incident that took place on Thursday
after the team's game against the Rays.
PHILADELPHIA -- The St. Petersburg Police Department has handed a complaint against Phillies left-hander J.C. Romero to the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney's Office to determine if prosecutors will charge him with battery. Romero and a fan, 25-year-old Robert Eaton, [ZOMG!!! Adam's bitter younger brother!!!] were involved in an incident immediately following Thursday night's game between the Phillies and Rays at Tropicana Field. St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa said the fan asked players leaving the field for autographs. "The player ignored him and kept on going," Kajtsa said of Romero. "So the victim starts yelling expletives and also making references to some things I can't mention because it's under investigation. That apparently angered the player, who then returned. The two had a shouting match and at one point the player hit him with an open hand -- or he slapped him on his neck." Eaton told the St. Petersburg Times that he said something to Romero like, "How about you get me some juice?" That is in reference to Romero's 50-game suspension this season for violating the league's policy against performance enhancing substances. Police never had the opportunity to interview Romero, who left Florida for a weekend series in Toronto. "Remember, this is a simple battery," Kajtsa said. "No weapon was used. There were no injuries to the victim whatsoever, except as he says in the report he was embarrassed because it happened in front of other fans and his family. [He wasn't embarassed about hurling invectives and expletives? Hope Romero punched him silly] "This is a very minor incident so the state's attorney will probably concentrate on more serious matters, but it will be up to the state's attorney to make the determination." |

Such horse shit. That's a railie n00b, and I hope his spine is damaged. Seatholders know how far to go without getting the boot, and they certainly don't go down to the rail to say anything. Plus, they're the Rays - we've only seen one winning season, and I think they're above average in the minor leaguers suspended for PEDs category. Keep it in perspective. Speaking of winning - they're on a six win roll, can it continue? (thanks NL!) |

He's not that bad - I kind of hated to see him go, especially with Gabe Gross staying. Not to mention a couple of championship rings and a WS ring he's received within the past two years. |

Good game Red Sox, blow a 10-1 lead. All the morons around here were bragging about that vaunted Red Sox bullpen.

I'm still mad about that fucking wild pitch on strike three with two outs and the subsequent inability of the Cubs to get out the dude who was trying to
score from 2nd base on that play.
