The Indians traded infielder Mark DeRosa to the Cardinals for RHP Chris Perez and a player to be named later, according to MLB.com. …this makes sense, because the buzz from cleveland had been the The 34-year-old DeRosa had been hitting .270 with 13 HR and 50 RBI in 71 games for the Indians, during which he played first, third, left and right field. In a post to Newsday, Ken Davidoff writes:
Perez, 23, was St. Louis's top pitching prospect, according to Baseball America, and was on track to be the team's future closer. He was 1-1 with one save and a 4.18 ERA in 20 relief appearances for the Cardinals this season, during which opponents were hitting .195 against him, while allowing just two of 15 inherited runners to score. In a post to Future Redbirds, Cardinals fan Erik writes:
DeRosa will earn $5.5 million this year, and will be a free agent this winter. Last week, in a post to his blog for ESPN.com, Buster Olney said the Mets can add roughly $5 million to their payroll. …the early read on this is, like erik says, is the Cardinals overpaid, probably because the Cubs were interested in DeRosa as well… |

the worst thing about this trade is that, after the cardinals sail into the playoffs on the shoulders of pujols aided by the fact that the rest of the central
sucks, derosa will be deified to an even greater degree by retarded cubs fans who love to jerk off over a good 2nd baseman that was on the team for two year.s
"HENDRY ADDS DEROSA AND WE'RE IN THE PLAYOFFS NOT THE CARDS" -- every cubs fan ever in 3 months

OK fox. The yankee stadium all star game commercials last year with the inside of the stadium top flying around was kind of neat but this floating arch
business being used to transport people to St. Louis is just annoying.

All Cubs fans need to understand one thing: Mark DeRosa is not the guy whose going to put any team over the top. Hes going to help any team, but hes not that
guy. Yeah, I wish he was on the team still, but from the beginning, not now. Yeah, Id rather have him than Mike Fontenot, but when Aramis comes back, it will
be a different story. Jim Hendrys dumb ass should have done something as soon as he realised his best hitter would be out for 6-8 weeks.
Now if the Cards can still get Matt Holliday, then its time for the division to be very afraid. |
