I am so sad tonight. Asuka was one of my favorites. It's really dissapointing, because I loved her last year, and was kinda crushed when she didn't make top 20, and so you wouldn't believe how happy I was to hear that she auditioned again (because really, how often do the featured dancers audition again), and not only that, but she made the show this time. I assumed she would have some sort of fanbase that would, even if she sucked, carry her a few weeks, but it's like even before her Broadway, people just started hating her. I thought it would get better after last week's waltz, but it didn't with the jazz. After the solos this week, I was really hoping they would boot Karla (since her solo was as abysmal as Asuka's, and Caitlin did well), but they didn't, and we lose the last pure Latin ballroom dancer of the contest. Hopefully, with any luck, she'll be an alternate on the tour (since Jesus and Chelsea left week 3, and they were alternates). It's just so dissapointing to see what had me most excited about the season come to an end so early, and what makes it worse is that she left the same week as Jonathan, and she seems to be the only "top 40 season 4 returning contestant who was featured" who isn't (wasn't) doing very well in the competition, and now all we have to remember her by is her very lovely waltz last week (which was much better than this week's viennese waltz). It's too bad she never got to do a routine in her Latin ballroom style with a partner (while "front runners" like Evan have gotten his style twice already).

But I found that the group routine, despite the annoying cinematography, was great, and I continue to love Dmitry's work as a choreographer. None of the solos were particularly impressive. I wish Caitlin went home, so Jason could have a better partner, and her solo was good, but when has that stopped the judges from eliminating a dancer? Karla was the second option; anyone but Asuka. All three girls were viable options to go home, so I'm a little miffed that the judges chose the one I did not want to leave.

Also, which fuckhead judge wanted to keep Jonathan?
