BB10 had strangers and a more basic feel and it was a huge improvement on BB8 and BB9.

X People keep bitching against the twists and want all HGs to be strangers, yet one of the most popular seasons here (BB6) had the most people who knew each other. Meanwhile last season proved to us that all strangers can boring as fuck. They don't know the twists so whatever they put out there is just a tidbit they heard or random bullshit. It means nothing.

The markerters and ad people for the show have no idea how many contestants, the twists, or anything else that will occur UNTIL the cast is sequestered.

The commercials for BB say that there will be 12 house guests. 12 contestants probably enter the house first and 2 or more join them later. In BB8 Dustin, Dick, and Jessica were separated in the HoH room from everybody else. I could see them doing a similar sort of twist except with high school cliques.

Gives the cast more of a chance to shake things up as to who will end up aligning with who, versus a smaller cast. In BB9, while they started with 16, they really only had 8 because they had to work as a team of 2. Then they jettisoned one team of 2 within the first 3 days before the feeds went live. BB9 would have been a lot different without the couples twist. What made that twist almost interesting was how the team of 2 didn't have the same group of people they liked in the house. So the dominant person in the team pulled the team in one direction. I think that whole cast would have mixed it up more if they had to opportunity to act alone from the beginning. That, and we would have had alex in the house longer, and man/bear/pig would have been booted sooner.
