Turned out Kelly, just like Adam, was a studio singer, hired to do demo work nothing more. The difference being the producers she worked with didn't attempt to cash in on her new found fame because at the time the recording industry wasn't in the shitter. Idol isn't so stupid after EIGHT fucking seasons that they would go through the vetting process and not find out that Adam had a recording contract. ya'll are grasping at straws but for the sake of argument, let's say he did have a contract... so fucking what...he lost...it's not like they can take the "title" from him so whatever. and sorry, but I call bullshit on Adam being anywhere near that studio. The paps followed that boy EVERYWHERE and we're to believe that he managed to get into a recording studio unnoticed and unreported, without the paps OR Idol knowing about it? you guys are fucking GULLIBLE... it's cute.

He does not turn turds into diamonds no matter how much his fans need to believe that he does. Adam needs songs that already fit his voice, then he does have the ability to sound great. Otherwise, you'll hear him butcher songs like One and not be able to rise above dreck like NB. He sings every song pretty much the same and needs songs that fit that limitation. He lacks in versatility. Many successful singers do, so don't anybody go choking on any kool-aide over that statement.

I concur. His vocals are clean and pristine and he manages to inject some sweetness and sincerity into a sappy song. I bought the song because he made a sappy song "okay." For me, the lyrics were a bit treacle and sappy and the instrumentals thin. But his voice is good. ETA: I can't blame anything the guy recorded as a struggling artist back in 2005 against the guy. Breaking in and living in Hollywood isn't cheap. He probably had little "control" over what he did as a back-up singer and what he did pre-Idol, except for the shows he had fun doing at night. It sounded like he enjoyed his role in the Ten Commandments but I'm not sure that he would have chosen to do Wicked had he been offered something else. People have to break in the way they can. That drove me nuts when the claymates were analyzing his package in every picture that was posted.
