How do you find a lost cat? My baby has been gone for two days. We've done the fliers, walked the neighborhood with treats, visited the shelter, and
called vets. What next?

Try to keep the windows on your first floor open (screens in) with stinky cat food inside so that you can hear him/her if he/she comes home meowing in the middle of the night - sleep near the window too. I've rescued a couple lost kitties in my neighborhood that way. Hope you get good news soon. |

crafting and Tres, I'm so very sorry for your losses. They are part of the family and it hurts no less when we lose one of them.
hypatia67 -- here is a very good article to help your search. I've put the text in a spoiler tag since it is so long. http://www.petrescue.com/library/find-pet.htm |

hypatia67 -- here is a very good article to help your search. I've put the text in a spoiler tag since it is so long. Thanks. We have read that article. It is very good. I was very impressed with our county shelter. The woman we spoke with had already seen our ad on Craig's List and promised to keep an eye out for Louis. The hardest thing is not knowing where he is or what has happened to him. One of our cats keeps looking for him. It is strange since I didn't think they liked each other. |

Maybe check a McDonald's or a 7-11.
He might have made a run for the border. |

It's raining CBRs and my group is dealing with pneumonia in two of the dogs turned over to us recently. And wonder of wonders, both national rescue groups are working together on the dogs. And the breeders of 4 of them are taking back their dogs. I totally love responsible breeders like that. |

Both time we were visiting in a LARGE city. It was the first time she heard trains, planes, police & ambulance sirens. And its next to the firehouse and train tracks. 3 nights later she found her way there. And both time she returned in the middle of the night with that annoying high pitch cry that sounds like cats in heat. Good luck and don't give up, I'm sure she misses you as much as you miss her. I hope she comes home real soon. Both of my cats are fixed, yet they both love to explore the out of doors. Sorry to hear about your pals, Tres & Crafting Good Luck to your underwater friends Pencake, is it a freshwater tank? I hope they survive the move. |

Your kitty looks so laid back!
I dont know if the same thing can happen to cats, but about a year after we "adopted" a stray we called Scamp - part stray, part howler, pure love - he got accidentally locked up in a house that was being built. If a dog was an alley cat - he was. We looked for him for 3 days and when we had almost given up, he came back howling like a wolf - all 20 pounds of him. His favorite thing was Fetch - except he never would return the tennis ball, frisbee, whatever. Good luck! |
