The first-ever Guitars of the Stars Benefit Auction held live outside the Ryman Auditorium last Friday raised $40,000 for the Opry Trust Fund, organizers reported on Monday.
Dolly Parton's "guitar of many colors" alone raised $7,000 for the Trust Fund, while a guitar designed by Carrie Underwood brought in the highest bid at $9,000.
The fund, which has for more than 40 years assisted members of the country music community in need, selected Grammy-winning Opry member Steve Wariner to kick off the event, hosted by GAC-TV and 650 WSM radio personality Bill Cody.
The Claynuts bid 55,000 dollars for some sheet music he wrote, 9,000 dollars for his used shoes, and 5,000 for his used @%+!%$. So what does that tell you?
