She is up for Video of the Year, so I would think that would have been good enough for a performance slot.

I liked that "Carnival Ride" veered into more of a traditional country sound whereas "Some Hearts" seemed like a hybrid between pop and country. This is from an EW PopWatch blog of the CMT Awards: Whitney Pastorek: On the "what makes country music" tip, I had a great conversation with Lee Ann Womack when I first got here today. She was on a bit of a tear, and said that pop country "sucks." Traditional country holds her heart because, she said, "It's American music. It's the heart and soul of America, not a cheap imitation of something." When I asked her if she'd be on a tear all night, she smiled. "I'm having fun being on a tear!" I like Lee Ann Womack. I thought that was an interesting perspective from Womack.

I thought that was an interesting perspective from Womack. I am ok as long as you don't make a country song and remix it pop. If if started with a pop edge is one thing but i hate remixing. Carrie does not really mess with her songs from the way they left the studio. I like her true country songs more especially the Country ballads. I liked the song Some Hearts and it's upbeat but is it pop country or just an upbeat Country song. I kinda suck at categorizing songs but I know a remix in a second, they do for the most part suck to me. The only thing worse is that shit Cher has done and I hear Mariahs latest has it and that's that autotune sounding shit. Chers 'Do you believe' disco shit makes me want to break shit ands Britneys shit is all autotune and i can't stand her ass as it's not a real fucking voice.

I think "Just a Dream" is a better video. I could have done without the green screen shit/fake flowers, though.

Last Name is great but forgettable to me, and the So Small one bores me.

Roman fucked it up because it could have been iconic and FANTASTIC. I still love it though. Just a Dream used to be one of my least favorites, but now it's top 3 from Carnival Ride for me.
