Usually not as many of you comment on the finales, but please spend a few minutes to leave some comments even if it's just one or two lines. If you don't want to fill out this "survey," then please feel free to leave any comments you like (even if it's just one or two lines), or just let me know that you read the episode. Anything will help and will be greatly appreciated! COMMENTS & QUESTIONS (A) What did you think of the episode? Are you satisfied with the outcome? THE GFF WINNERCURSE CONTINUES!!!! I'm satisfied with the winner, I was rooting for Randy, but I liked G.C. as well so not a big dissapointment. I cant believe I missed the obvious distractions, I feel stupid XD. I always feel bad for the people that win the F4 Tiebreaker the go out the next round. Poor Dan. I did like the FTC, it reminded me of Tocantins with both of them going after each other again. Speaking of Tocantins, now that the season is over, can you give us a rundown on how yours would have went? (B) Which story has been your favorite so far: Guatemala, Exile Island, Cook Islands, Fiji, All-Stars: Belize, China, Micronesia, or Gabon? Gabon (C) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? The Big reveal (Always good to finish something) (D) What would you rate this episode out of 10? Not much shown before the challenge, but he didn't look like a target anyway. -Hmm, interesting, Paloma abandons convincing Dan just like that and goes to targeting Dan. -Looks like it's gonna be a tie vote, GC's not gonna budge, Randy's not gonna budge. I don't recall Paloma ever making a fire before in this game, but I think Dan did once on exile. -Heh, I liked seeing Randy openly cheering for Dan at the fire making challenge -I'm guessing right now that GC wins immunity again after Randy saying him and Dan have a 66.6% chance of going to the F2. -Ok, GC won immunity, this has been a really predictable finale so far, especially if he takes Randy, though something in the back of my mind keeps on telling me he'll take Dan. -GC's comment about maybe not taking Randy from him making a deal with Dan is making me think more that Dan's going to the F2 and will win the game -Ok, so Dan goes home, so far I'm 100% right about where I predicted everyone would place this episode. -Ok I'm gonna guess where the votes will go right now. ---GC: Crystal, Paloma, Jacquie(?) ---Randy: Ken, Ace, Dan, Charlie(?) Wow, looking at this Randy does have a shot at this, more then I realized. The more I think about it though, the more I'm not really sure how Charlie and Jacquie will vote. Charlie I'm leaning only slightly towards Randy because of respect for strategy, but could easily see him going for GC instead because of not liking Randy in the game. Jacquie I have no clue on either way, so I gave her to GC just from a gut feeling. Ken, and Ace are locks for Randy. Crystal and Paloma are locks for GC. I'm like 99% certain that Dan will vote for Randy after what happened from the F5 and on, he gained a lot of respect for the guy. -Can't believe I'm saying this, but just from the lack fo scenes that struck me as showing GC as smart or in a good light this episode (especially compared to the GC is dumb scenes in it) and my vote analysis, I'm going to guess Randy wins heading into TC. -Yeah, GC wins, well this really was the most predictable finale ever, I predicted everything right before the episode was posted -I just now looked back at my previous episode picks, and saw that I had actually mixed up Paloma and Randy's spots, doh. Strange I would have picked Paloma in the F2, then been certain when I started reading this episode that Paloma was a goner right away to the point that I thought that I said so last week. COMMENTS & QUESTIONS (A) What did you think of the episode? Are you satisfied with the outcome? Meh, this seemed like the most predictable finale ever reading through it. I knew when the F4 IC happened that Paloma was going home, due to a lack of basically anything happening before the challenge. And before my mind started to overreact to certain things I was reading in the story I had written down that Dan was a goner at the F3, which turned out to be right. There just didn't really seem to be all that many surprises, other then seeing that I was the only person to predict GC would win preseason. (B) Which story has been your favorite so far: Guatemala, Exile Island, Cook Islands, Fiji, All-Stars: Belize, China, Micronesia, or Gabon? China for sure. (C) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? For the first time, I correctly picked the person, pre-show, that I thought GF would pick as his winner. Granted, I quickly switched to Kenny, but that was just because I got swayed by the Jeff interviews. G.C. stood out as a GF winner for several reasons: 1. Pre-show, he seemed like a really nice and capable guy. A little immature, but not completely insane like Dreamz. 2. He seemed like the kind of guy who wasn't going to challenge whore his way through the game, but he'd be able to do that towards the end once all the biggest threats were gone. 3. I knew that, in GF's universe, there hadn't been a black winner since Vecepia, which meant there hadn't been a black man to win Survivor in GF's universe at all, despite Earl having won the real Fiji. All those things added up to a player that I thought stood a very good chance of winning the game and creating a unique storyline for Gabon. Kenny later jumped onto my radar because he was similar, because there has never been an Asian man to win in GF's universe, nor has there been a scrawnier male strategist, since neither Yul nor Todd had won their seasons.

Then the FTC started and I thought Randy was answering way better than GC. But then GC pointed out all the people he backstabbed and the tide turned... at that point I had no idea who would win. Jacquie and Dan being the swing votes <3. Is there gonna be a reunion?

I'm glad to see you enjoyed it, and I enjoyed reading what you had to say! And as always, you brought up some very good points... THE GFF WINNERCURSE CONTINUES!!!! Yep, I should know from now on that anytime I pick someone as my winner, they will not make the jury on the real show. But... Tocantins may have broken that curse, as you'll see. I'm satisfied with the winner, I was rooting for Randy, but I liked G.C. as well so not a big dissapointment. Glad to hear you were satisfied with the outcome. It's better than having you be horrified at the person who won. I cant believe I missed the obvious distractions, I feel stupid XD. Don't feel stupid. Even though not everyone may have picked G.C. to win, "Edgic" did pretty well by getting the men who would last the longest in the game. The top four contenders in Episodes 4 and 5 were 4 of the Final Five / the last four men in the game, so people still picked up on the important characters. I always feel bad for the people that win the F4 Tiebreaker the go out the next round. Poor Dan. Yes, poor Dan. I thought that too, and I believe Tocantins was the first time it happened to that level on the real show so I really wish I had my finale done before that because it would have been a first for me first. One of the things I've always wanted was to have two people who hated each other in the Final Two. Sherea/Dave or Paloma/Randy would have both been good choices but neither really worked for the stories. I Correctly predicted Sierra, Joe, Sydney and Stephen would be PM boots. Carolina and JT make place for their placement. And other than Erinn, any of the other F6 winning would be good

I was looking forward to seeing what you thought of it, and while I enjoyed reading your "thoughts during the episode" I was disappointed to see that you found it to be so predictable and that the season ended off on a low note for you. -So GC wins F4 immunity, ok. Not much shown before the challenge, but he didn't look like a target anyway. I had initially thought there would be a scene where Dan talked to Randy about voting G.C. off if he didn't win, but I decided against it because I didn't want it to look like Dan betrayed G.C. first. Either way, Randy was going to vote against Paloma no matter what, so you're right that G.C. wasn't much of a target. -Hmm, interesting, Paloma abandons convincing Dan just like that and goes to targeting Dan. Well, I don't think Dan was going to change his mind and there was no one else she could vote for BUT Dan. As I mentioned in the notes, she also went to G.C. about voting off Randy, hoping they could do a tie but G.C. said it wouldn't make sense for him to get rid of Randy, so that's when Paloma proposed voting out Dan to G.C. and he agreed at that point due to Dan being the biggest threat. -Looks like it's gonna be a tie vote, GC's not gonna budge, Randy's not gonna budge. I thought G.C. was shown in a pretty good light in the finale. I don't totally disagree, but I know that there were some people who will be surprised by it. Only about 3 or 4 people got everything right, so I don't know if it was the most predictable. I would say Tracy was way more of an obvious winner last season, but that is just me, I guess. So I'm sorry that the season ended off on a low note like this. That's really disappointing. China for sure. Thank you. Based on the averages of all the rated episodes, China will remain at #1. I'm interested to see where Gabon falls in the end. (C) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? My prediction was that you would rate it a 7, so I guess I was a little optimistic. Someone on FGC just gave it a 5 for basically the same reason as you, so you're not alone in thinking that. Again, I don't completely disagree with you. I knew it definitely wouldn't be as good as the Micronesia or Fiji finales, and I felt it was just "good" but not "great" since nothing really major happened. Chapera rocks used a good word by saying it was "solid." I would probably rate it somewhere in the mid-8s, but it's had some surprisingly high numbers. Interesting... Ace, Corinne, Randy, but I'd rather not see another all stars version. Thanks. These seem like popular choices, although I'm sure I would need one or two of the supposed "heroes" to balance things. I really have no idea if I would ever do another All-Stars. I just want to suss out which characters stood out the most to the most people. Dan And Jacquie, why vote the way you did for the winner Yeah, I'll talk to the jury at the Reunion and see why they voted this way. I enjoyed reading all your thoughts on this throughout the season and I know you picked G.C. at the end, so great job on that. Also, when you plan a season, do you work from the top down or from the bottom up? Like, you pick the winner and then work down the characters from there, or do you work through the first through boots and see who stands out to you as a good winner after that?

I loved the ending, it seemed absolutely perfect, and I loved the way the story fit together at the end. Also, good job completely misdirecting on GC as the winner. I was 100% sure it wasn't him until reading about 4 pages into the finale, at which point it was like, "Crap, I completely missed this." (10/10, btw). Also, I love how completely wrong Randy is in his FTC speech about playing more strategically than GC. GC was correct in his vote at F9, F8 sans idol, F6 (where he made a huge move that won him the game. If Charlie and Dan were to vote Randy here, then Jacquie sides with Paloma to boot Dan at 5 and GC is suddenly in a much more difficult spot, since Jacquie can actually compete in the challenges), and F5 (albeit, not necessarily smart, since he could just immunity run w/o Dan there). Randy was right at F8 sans Idol, F5, and F4. GC hit the correct target more often, and he did what a good player does, take the goat who pissed off the jury members. Randy had Ace and Kenny's vote to start b/c he pissed everyone else off, and GC had Charlie's, Paloma's, and Crystals (debating the Charlie point is pointless. Charlie's confessional where he basically says "GC has been playing a great game" indicates that GC passed in terms of strategy). Basically, Randy's speech was a joke and he was the ultimate goat (I thought Paloma would be the ultimate goat >.>), and GC is honest, upfront and correct. My only objection to the season was that GC had absolutely nothing to indicate him as a potential winner in the first episode (and I don't think in the swap episode either), whereas Dan's opening episode was big (too big, made me think distraction at first until I needed someone other than Charlie to latch onto) and Charlie's was good considering he was completely out of the action, and his swap episode was good considering he was also out of any action. Otherwise, his edit is reasonable enough.

Even though I liked Dan, he would have been too much like JP or Erik (even though he didn't win), kindof a generic young guy who can be a little bland at times, so I was going to steer clear of that again. Randy in the Final Two was also a good choice because no matter who won, it was a different kind of winner than I've had before. I still haven't had a man over 37 win and I would like to have an older guy winner, but I just have to wait for the right person. G.C. was a pleasant surprise for me and I wouldn't have really expected him as the winner. Kenny later jumped onto my radar because he was similar, because there has never been an Asian man to win in GF's universe, nor has there been a scrawnier male strategist, since neither Yul nor Todd had won their seasons. I definitely would have liked to have Kenny win too, especially considering him being a video gamer. I thought that was really interesting and I think I could have really woven that into his story more, but alas, I decided to go in a different direction... Thank you very much for reading. The episode was pretty good, with most of the story lines getting tied up (I knew Dan's fire building in Episode 2 would be crucial!) Still, GC was the only character I didn't want to see win. I sort of just saw him as Crystal's ally, and he bored me. I was looking forward to a Dan vs. Randy final...also didn't Jacquie have some big bond with Randy? Wouldn't she have voted for him. I thought he had a good understanding of the game and had potential to be strategic and entertaining. I like people who can be players AND characters at the same time and I would have enjoyed writing for him. Before the season started, he's the one person that I thought of and said I might have him win. It's definitely not solid or anything, but he's the guy I always had in mind. So he would have broken my winner's curse, but as you can see, 4 of the Final Six would have most likely come from the premerge boots on the real show. NOOOO! You were going to have Tyson win, and now you're not going to write it? And a Candace/Tyson F2 possibly? AND Sandy making F4? Oh man, I would've LOVED this season. But I look forward to whatever you do next; as always, I know it'll be amazing. :) Hey! It's been a while since I last commented. I have been following along though, just never have the time to sit down and write out all my comments. The finale was very good, but I was pulling for Randy, though I do believe I pointed out GC as a winner many weeks ago, so I was not surprised. To answer your question about returning players for All-Stars (if you did another) I'd go with all the villains Ace/Randy, and even Corinne. I know that she left early due to the bribe, but she was such a fantastic character that I'd really enjoy seeing her again. I do think I have grown more to appreciate the strategic villains in all things Survivor, just because they are always very interesting and complex. They intrigue me the most. Again, great job on Gabon. I really enjoyed it, but I'd have to say that Belize is one of my favorite seasons still. Gabon is up there, though. I swear, you sometimes portray characters MUCH better than they were portrayed on the show, and Gabon is no exception to that. You are truly gifted. Keep up the great work!

Your dedication is great and you fanfics are very believable. Edit: Sydney - I know Mikester will probably hate me for saying it, but aside from looks I don't think she had much to offer in terms of story potential, so she would have went before the merge with me too. Plus I just had Jacquie as the UTR blonde making the Final Six, and Alexis made the Final Six too in this same role, so Sydney would have to go early. Probably the fourth boot or somewhere around there. After Kelly being first to go from Kota, I would hesitate to have her go first from Jalapao, so I might switch her with Stephen. Sydney could have ~flirted~ her way to the end or been a seductive mastermind. But I'm glad you didn't writer a fanfic because I would have only read for Sydney and knowing she would have gotten booted early = . Glad I did not waste my time.
