I don't think they cast 2 incase one doesn't make it...in the begining I think it was obvious who the sweetheart was & who they wanted. After ASS you sort of have to assume who they wanted to be a sweetheart, but we really never get a clear sweetheart.

6) Christy Smith (she was suppose to be our sweetheart on top of having the underdog thing going. She was just very emotional and confrontational, not really a bad thing).
7) Michelle Tesauro (they didn't expect her to aling herself w/ Burton/Shawn & be disliked b/c of that by everyone else). Darrah Johnson was never made to be a sweetheart.

8) No one really.

After ASS we never really have an obvious sweetheart...but it's almost clear who they might have wanted to use as one. But for some reason sweethearts after ASS don't fair really good:(

17) Paloma Soto-Castillo (Sugar Kiper was disliked by the cast. We love her & they edited her for us to like her, but we knew by how her tribemates spoke about her that she was not liked, so therefore she can't be the sweetheart. Had they had her tribemates always saying how much they love/like her then she could take the title...we never heard any negative comments about any of our prior sweethearts, only good remarks.)
