Economy affects all artists into slowly declining sales (<insert catty remark about Taylor Swift here>), but I'm pretty sure that selling 1/8 of the previous cd is because of a huge loss of a fanbase due to a shitty album.

No, the fact that she is able to go overseas and do concerts and sell many cd's overseas is what makes her a worldwide startlet moron. Of course being a C.unty fan I would expect you to have a grasp on worldwide anything.

All that means is that sales are down across the board and artists that are considered superstars in the U.S. are feeling the pinch with their new(er) cd's. Possibly the definition of success is being modified in this time of financial crisis with fewer and fewer artists being able to sell millions? Carrie was lucky to have almost a year worth of sales before the bottom fell out totally. Even you had enough brain cells to admit she likely won't see the sales success she saw with C.R. on her next cd.

My disaster was a shitty cd. She didn't lose fans so much as they decided to sit that cd out.

Why would I think you were talking about her current cd? Welcome to 2009 where Kelly has sold over 1 million copies worldwide of her current cd, over 2.2 million downloads of her two radio singles in the U.S. alone and set a record with her first radio single. Doesn't sound like to much of a failure to me, all things considered.

Remember when C.unty was fresh off American Idol and was able to sell > 7 million cd's in the U.S. alone? Enter her sophomore slump cd called C.R. where the new idol was already crowned and she lost so many fans that she wasn't even able to crack 3 million in U.S. sales. Will she turn it around with cd number 3 or will that see her sales continuing to decline?

Remember when Kelly took her American Idol fanbase and expanded on it selling 7 million cd's in the U.S. alone (and over 12 million worldwide) of her sophomore cd Breakaway and became a global superstar? Enter her 3rd cd, the shiteous my disaster that limped to 800,000 in sales and didn't break 1 million worldwide. With cd number 4 she has already outsold cd number 3 worldwide and is closing on on U.S. sales. Could she be back on the upswing.

The biggest difference betwen C.unty and Kelly is the bar is set low for Kelly and even 1 million sold in the U.S. is considered a huge success and improvement over her last cd. C.unty could continue to see her sales decline cd to cd and that's not good news no matter how you slice it.
