Ooh so I figured out how to give this thread a purpose!
In this thread, I'm gonna rank the 15 Best Picture winners I've watched. (Yea, I've only seen 15 of them), with very brief explanations.. here we go! 15. Chicago I think I saw this on a cruise and I fell asleep cause I was really tired. So it gets last, sorry 14. The Departed The first time I saw this, I wasn't really paying attention. Saw it a second time but already knew how it all ended... still a good movie =) 13. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King This really could've been an hour or two shorter. Great story though. 12. Gladiator Action packed and dramatic, but I kinda don't remember it that much. 11. No Country for Old Men I remember liking the killer and how parts of the plot were ambiguous. I missed it in theatres and had to find a copy online... legally, of course. 10. Forrest Gump This is such an endearing and fun movie, but I've seen it way too many times in school or on TV, so it's lost a bit of it's magic. 9. Titanic This movie was what I expected it to be. It's still a beautiful story from start to finish. 8. A Beautiful Mind I don't quite remember why, but I liked this movie quite a bit. 7. The Godfather Part II See below. 6. The Godfather See above. 5. Slumdog Millionaire I thought this was an epic story and thought it was really captivating when it was all put together. I've always thought the ending (before the dance scene) was perfect. Just perfect <3 4. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Never have I ever been so eager to watch a movie from the 70's. Jack Nicholson made this movie into one of the greatest films of all time. 3. American Beauty I didn't see this until long after it had won the oscar, but I still loved it and thought it was one of the most thematic movies ever. I love how some of its scenes are iconic enough to be referenced in TV shows and other movies. 2. Million Dollar Baby Just when I thought there'd be a happy ending... bam. Not even Hilary Swank's broad, masculine shoulders could shield her from that fall.. Oops I may have spoiled it, but I thought this movie was put together incredibly well. 1. The Silence of the Lambs My favou movie of all time <333 Never a dull moment, and the exchanges between Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins are some of the best cinematic moments of all time. Jodie Foster played strong, emotional Clarice perfectly, and Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Hannibal Lecter is legendary. The movie also has one of the best film posters of all time with the bodies printed onto the moth's back =O Thread done! Yay! Movies outside of the top 3 or bottom 3 may not be in a solid order, but I kinda made it up as I went along <3 |

I was actually watching it off a streaming website once, Plummy! But then my computer froze after like 20 minutes and for some reason, didn't get back to
it.. it's always been at the top of my list of movies to see though...

Omg so much overratedness in your list lol.. but that's probs because you haven't seen most of the really good ones ...
Schindler's List is really good, the scene where Liam has sex with that one woman is one of the most erotic scenes for me ever in the history of cinema <3333333333333333 The Piano was better though, and should've won. |

You mean The Pianist? No?
Anyway, my favorite scene in Schindler's list is when Schindler was randomly shooting the Jews with his shotgun from the attic of his house. Damn, that's so bad ass and it really happened in real life. |
