You crack me up. no not ignorant. It's a matter of taste whether you like his singing...but it's a matter of techinical knowledge as to whether he's ACTUALLY screeching. He's probably the best techinical singer ever on idol even if he's not everyone's cup of tea style wise.

He is amazing. What he can do, no one can do. He to me is trully one of the most gifted singers I have ever heard in my life. I am not judging his presentation, style or performance. Just his voice and how he uses it. He is completely connected and has every resonator open booming when he sings. His range is off the charts. His belt voice goes higher then it is allowed to and it is incredible to listen to.

They are saying that he uses his voice correctly. You might call it screeching, but the blogger linked above would say that at least Adam is screeching in the way that singers are supposed to screech. Many singers, including famous ones (Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlan, or so I hear from my musically-trained friends), misuse their voice. The blogger is saying that Adam does not.

As for Adam being the most technically talented vocalist ever on Idol I would beg to differ. Not because of the screeching issue but because AI is again not the only Idol show in existence. There's 134 winner alone and probably 1000 finalists or more not even including semis etc. Perhaps the best technical vocalist on AMERICAN Idol ever. Perhaps.

Unlike everyone else here who only started liking Carrie after Idol I actually loved Carrie from her first audition. I liked most of her Idol performances and despite being somewhat robotic as a performer she was a talented singer. So with that said I disagree that "everything else was crap." Jennifer left very early and whether or not she was "ZOMG ROBBED" is one issue but fact is she left early and didn't have that many performances to really warrant listing her as one of the Top 5 AI contestants ever. Just imo she's overrated and I think Carrie should be higher than her.
