UrbanSprawl wrote:By your reasoning a Democratic majority would give gays their rights... why hasn't it happened yet? There are bigoted Democrats, there are bigoted Republicans; there are bigoted heterosexuals, there are bigoted homosexuals. This isn't news to anyone, but to base your narrow-minded opinion of a huge political party based on what some of them have done is juvenile.
The grades were based on a list of legislation votes. Republicans have been virulently bigoted against gays, and their bigotry can be seen in their voting pattern. This is not news to anyone except the most delusional.
Saying democrats are equal or worse doesn't cut it anymore. On major policy votes, democrats have strongly voted for gay equal rights, recieving A's and B's in the congress while republicans are receiving the exact opposite- D's and F's. No issue has more clearly separated and defined the two parties today than the support for equal rights.
Quite frankly, there's no reason to vote for republicans, they've become a disgusting, virulently bigoted party. And the only reason you haven't come to terms with their votes is because you're disgusted by them. You should be.
Bigotry is, by definition, an expression of ignorance and inhumanity. We don't need to vote for politicians with those overriding qualities, those qualities which so easily pollute every other facet of public policy.
Also, you may want to apply your definition of bigotry to yourself, putting Republicans in the hot-seat that most people place homosexuals in.

I'm sure if we dug up information on Democrats we'd find just as much trash - or why don't we go with the narrow-minded stereotype that homosexuals are child molesters and see what we dig up on that???

Yeah, that's right, I wrote this from memory
don't act like you're not impressed
If you want to criticize policy why don't you use evidence of that? If you want to criticize Republicans as politicians why don't you examine each one's individual political records instead of searching out a select few and examining their personal lives to apply it to the whole party?
