What a silly rule. If you're going to keep overrulling your own rule, then I'm pretty sure there is a problem with that rule.

Datsyuk jumps up in bigger players faces all the time, and Zetterberg was throwing punches at the referee! Pay attention stupid! This isn't Semin or "All Euros" this is a Babcock team and they all are tough. Oh and it probably is a broken foot on Datsuyk but no worrys-Abdelkater CAN score when 3 Pens players are on him unlike Cindy. And FUCK YOU with the jersey over the head comment-if thats a canadian cement head who does that you'll call him "smart". I don't think either of these teams can be defined as thugs. AND, any SMART team will double and triple team the other team's hot-shot ~~whiner~~ player. That's called experience. And I think Lidstrom could easily hanlde Cindy. He's 500 times the player that Crysby is. And Malkin is a little pussy c.unt. Way to be a pro.

If Malkin had his tie down on like he's supposed to, he wouldn't have gotten jerseyed. That's supposed to be a penalty too. If you're going to chase the other team's best player around the ice to try to beat him up, you should at least be prepared for the fight. Wings are playing good team defense. Complaining that the Wings are all in their net or that they're shadowing Crosby too effectively is pretty pointless. The Wings are basically saying to the Pens "Okay, we'll play our top line against your top line, and our second line against your second line. We don't care if our top two lines don't score, because we're deeper than you." And they've proven it for two games. Zetterberg has neutralized Crosby - he's not considered one of the best defensive forwards in the league for nothing. Malkin is proving, yet again, that he disappears when he's hit. He tried to go after Zetterberg purely out of frustration, and it backfired. He's only lucky that the NHL applies its rules as it wants. If he was Sean Avery, or even Max Talbot, he wouldn't be playing next game.

The reason he wasn't prepared was because Malkin went after him and just started throwing. Had Malkin invited him to fight, gotten in the clear, and dropped the gloves...Zetterberg would have laughed in his face and skated away (it being 3-1 with a minute left). So since that wasn't going to happen, malkin jumped him and started throwing gloved shots while holding his stick in his punching hand. Now had Zetterberg stood there and allowed Malkin to punch him in the face we'd be calling him a moron. So because he twisted away and protected himself, he's a turtle. Regardless of the fact that when he got a chance he jerseyed Malkin and began punching him in the face with glove, then shook off the glove and tried to punch him some more. The instigator penalty was properly applied by the refs. Malkin went after Zetterberg in order to send a message. He went after him in the final five minutes (30 seconds in fact) of a game. In addition, he instigated a fight without having a tie-down. In the rule book, the punishment for those is automatic. Two plus a 10 for instigating, five for fighting, game misconduct for no tie-down, one game suspension for instigating in the last five nutes. Malkin should have gotten 17 minutes, a game misconduct, and a one game suspension. He got 17 minutes. Of course, right after it happened I said, "Malkin should get then instigator for that, and its the last five minutes. He should get an automatic suspension for that. But he won't."

In reality, we're here, just watching you gloat, until we can gloat back. Pens play their worst game of this year's playoffs last night, and win 4-2. And I think Malkin's got his groove back a little now - if Sid can shake some Wings off him, we could have a great series. I am impressed with the way the Wings have stifled Sid so far, but as I've often seen, it doesn't last forever. I'm feeling a repeat of the Caps series (down 2 on the road, then win 3 straight). At least as a fan, i'm hoping it. And A-Bart, really? All Pittsburgh fans do is whine? What do we really whine about? Two teams in a row in the finals of their sport. Most superbowls of any team in NFL history, one of the greatest and classiest sports franchises in history, the Pirates (even though they are basically a farm team) making the Mets and their huge salaries look like chumps twice in a row (it's just funny), oh yeah, and Mario Lemieux (enough said). I'll take Sid and Geno and Fleury over any other teams' players any day. Pittsburgh fans set a high standard for their sports teams (alright the Pirates are a slight exception), and expect the best - you want to call that whining, then Waaaah. And I'm a girl so I'm allowed to cry. BTW my superstitious nature is now in full swing since i brought out my Malkin jersey signed by Talbot and Fleury and they all kicked ass last night, I'll be wearing it again Thursday - and i pulled out the iron city last night when it was 2-2, so i have to now drink that again Thursday (ick)! And i love the comment in the Pittsburgh paper today, that if the Redwings are allowed to have two goalies, then the Pens should be allowed to have 6 skaters for 21 seconds! And lastly what a dork! He flounders around his crease like a fish out of water and then relies on his athleticism to bail him out - which it doesn't always. And he refused to play for Canada in the World Juniors because he was scared to hurt his draft status. They had to start David LeNeveu, who sucked ass and got pulled. Only then would Fleury play, when the stakes were significantly lowered.

Momentum is definitely with the Pens right now, but I know that Detroit will be a tough place to win. I'm just glad the pens broke the Period 2 crapfest pattern, and silenced Hossa a little last night. If he had gotten his predicted two stupid goals, I would have lost it. And McCreary may suck, but he sucks for both teams.
