That was the most watched show on Monday. Who would've expected a reality show about a family to beat all of those "sophisticated and educated"
scripted shows. Of course, because of that, I doubt TLC will EVER let them leave the show or divorce.

I think it was also a bad night for TV, and that running a constant marathon finally tempted people to take a peek.
I have occasionally wondered about the show, mostly the Kate-hate that invades other threads--just how awful was this woman? Bored, I turned the channel and caught the tail end of the marathon, and with the constant promo spots of Jon whining "I can't just be Jon" they hooked me into watching the premier. You are probably right about the trainwreck factor though Zippy. Now I am sappily hoping they work it out--those kids are just too adorable. |

I don't hate Kate, but with her running around to all her appearances, book signings, etc, he has no choice but to stay at home. Even if he wanted to provides for his kids outside of the show, she's making it impossible. He's handcuffed. |

Kevin and Jodi were willing to watch the kids, even when they were sick w/the flu and they had their own 4 kids. They were a big presence in the early
seasons and when TLC tried to compensate them Kate got mad and put a stop to it. They no longer have contact w/Kate, but are still in contact w/Jon (Kevin and
Jon used to do projects together).
Watch backyard campout sometime. Jon works really hard to have a fun camp out w/the family. At night, it rains Mady and Cara go to Kate's tent because their tent is leaking and she wont let them and sends them to Jon. Jon has the boys but makes room for everyone.

I think they're both at fault. As parents, they need to settle aside their differences and actually TALK about how they feel to each other. There
shouldn't be sides because the fight could have been mended by Kate or Jon, but both did not choose to. The only side you should take are the eight kids
because they are in the middle of the fight. If they can both settle their differences, not just interview in different rooms, I'm sure that they can get
over it.
Also, if Aunt Jodi really wants to help, she wouldn't slander her own relatives and try to demote the show. People's true colors show when unfortunate events happen. Any person that genuinely wants to help would not do these actions. |

Kate's body guard is probably banging the SHIT out of her.

She probably banned Jon from helping her and told him to just show up at the party. I'm glad he stuck to his guns when she wanted to pour the candy out of even the pinata he was holding. Did you noticed how he made sure to pour it out closer to the ground and around the circle of kids, not on top of them like Kate. Team Jon! |

I'm definitely "Team +8". Well, +7 maybe, I don't like Hannah.
Yes, I know she's only five and we shouldn't say nasty things about kids, but I just don't like her. Alexis makes up for that though by being at least fifty kinds of fucking awesome. |

Team Kid!
They both have flaws (unlike me who has none ;-P). Kate is over-dominating and needs to take a couple of gazillion chillpills but maybe she has reason to be. Jon still hasn't decided what he wants to be when he grows up. Jon seems to only be able to be interested in a job for a couple of years then he quits or gets laid off. And it's been a couple of years or so that he's "worked from home" so the restlessness is setting in. Did anyone notice that when he was speaking about getting caught and saying he was in the wrong place at the wrong time he couldn't look directly at the camera and was constantly looking away unlike Kate who pretty much spoke directly to the camera when replying about the accusations against her? I've got a question to ask... if it were Jon honoring the speaking engagements and book signing promotions, keeping him away from home would you be as hard on him as some of you are on Kate for not being home? It seems to me Kate is the working spouse in the relationship and Jon doesn't really want to take on any responsibility. Just my flawlessperfect opinion! |
