Yeah, they need to put this show on an extended hiatus.
Sounds like both have thrown in the towel. It's sad. |

Wow. I wasn't expecting things to be so outwardly bitter. It's over. There is no love there.

I don't think she's very nice but what is so great about Jon?
Maybe she wouldn't treat him like such shit if she had a reason to respect him? Plus, he's not hot and if she only had a decent haircut she would be attractive despite the litter of babies she's birthed. |

God. I just watched this show for the first time, and caught about 4 previouslies and then the new episode.
Could Jon whine any more? "I can't just be Jon. I am always Jon and Kate plus 8." whaaaa whahhh poor me Buddy, you had 8 kids. You will never be "just Jon" again. Get over it and man the fuck up. Boob. Does this guy have any employable skills where he can support his family with a "real" job? The only thing he mentioned is that he spent 3 years working at a tubing park. What is his plan, if, as he apparently wants, there is no show paying the bills to support his family? And, no buddy, showing up occasionally is not taking care of your kids. It was sad. |

Ugh I hate "defending Jon" but the man did have a job which she would BITCH about. He would work long hours and when he got home she's doing
nothing but bitching about how she needs a break she was with the kids all day.

I dont think he was there for her bday when she goes to Charm City Cakes.
When Jon was working and Kate was w/the kids, she was a wreck and couldnt handle it. When Saturdays came around she was trying to shove the kids on him even when he was doing projects. She would send the kids in to disrupt him. After he quit his job to stay home, you notice who was doing all the caretaking... Jon. She goes away for a couple of week and decides to throw together a bday party Kate cant even run a simple errand w/o being exhausted. I for one would like to see Jon Plus Eight watching him interact and being a Dad (can you imagine if he moves back to the old house Jody and Kevin, Nana Janet and Beth come back to help?). When he takes the kids out he is 100% involved. When Kate takes them out she is more of an observer and criticizes them. But he wants to scale back. Kate on the other hand will not allow anyone to believe this isnt her show. Watch her take her kids on one of her tour soon w/3 invisible handlers to watch her kids and of course her trusty bodyguard. |

Kate may be a bitch and Jon may have cheated on his wife for whatever reasons, but in the end it's sad to watch two people who once had love one another
now can't stand to be around each other anymore. As a fan of the show, it's not entertaining to watch and I hope Jon and Kate or the powers that be at
TLC make an executive decision to end the show ASAP so Jon and Kate, together or separately, can put their lives back in order. The kids don't deserve to
have their parent's marital issues on display for everyone to see.

I actually felt really sad watching this show. Believe it or not, it really is the only family these kids have/know. I usually like Jon, but he looked drunk
off his ass in the first episode, and he is totally coming off as a whiny baby because he can't act like he's 23 without kids anymore. wah, wah, wah,
poor persecuted me, I can't stay out all night with another woman. Maybe it does suck that you can't go running around doing whatever you want, but
that would pretty much be the case even if there wasn't a show.
And everyone is attacking Kate for being so money hungry and forcing Jon's hand in the show, but does anyone really believe they would be perfectly happy if they had never had a show, and they were relying solely on his income? He'd be bitching about having to work so much then. He is the one who took off for the weekend while she planned the party - so its hard to believe that anyone can criticize her so horribly when she says she is doing for the kids. If he were "all about the kids" he could have pitched in and helped too. He needs to suck it up and be a big boy, and they both need to go to some counseling that isn't aired on TLC. Perhaps its a total editing job, but I think Kate is handling it more maturely than he is. She seemed genuinely hurt, and he seemed very OVER it. |

Jon was an IT Specialist up until about 2 years ago. He became a full time house - husband / dad at that time. Wow, Kate was completely unwilling to own any
responsibility for the undoing of their marriage. Jon was polite and at least classy enough to not air too much of the family laundry in front of millions.
Jon's comment about how some people say he can't write or speak or even breathe right was priceless. I'm done with this show-the train has
wrecked, I've watched it and now I'm done.

GoodNeighborgirl wrote:What was his job? Did he make enough money to actually support 10 people if they did not have this show? (Answered while I typed this, thanks. IT jobs are pretty tough to find right now. Good luck with paying for 8 college tuitions, not to mention every thing else with just that to fall back on. At least Kate is also writing.) I think being with 8 kids all day long is a hell of a lot tougher than a regular job with breaks and lunch and commute time. Hell, two kids can be exhausting--but 8 of them, all toddlers? Yikes. I saw Jon's little trip to Utah with one kid, and even then he seemed to pawn her off on "instructors" while he snowboarded, then let her "watch" while he learned to ride, and then rode in the bobsled. The only real time they had together was inner tubing, and when she was pooped and asked to go to bed he told her no because he was hungry. I had a hard time buying that going to Utah was for father-daughter time, it was just to get away from the chaos that is eight kids, and get in a little skiing while other people kept his kid busy.

That was really sad to watch. My husband and I have been fans since Season 1. I wanted to cry when Alexis made a comment about wanting Jon at home. He's
clearly checked out of the marriage but totally loves his kids. Kate came off as completely unsympathetic, as always, and Jon just seemed emotionally dead. I
think the decision to do a 5th season was the nail on the coffin of their marriage.
