Oh, and don't you just love Saul?
However bad Walter might have broken during our time with him, Saul was there years ago and is five steps ahead. I love Saul. I love how he thinks. |

Hold up - do we know he moves her body?
Holy shit this episode was dynamite in a bottle. I want Jessie to get help (and Jane too but mmm RIP Jane). I can't believe Walt just watched her die. He is a completely different person from the beginning where he gave the one dude all the stuff to live on, tied up in the basement. Cut the crust off his sandwich and everything. As a parent, I felt bad for Jane's Dad. He waited one day too late. I imagine he will have a "revenge" thing for Jessie - which could lead to Walt, if he is following Jessie around. Hope the Dad never puts two and two together. Oh the odds of them two meeting up in that bar and having a heart to heart. I love the writing of this show. I can't wait for the finale. |

He didn't want to kill him and it was only after his life was threathened (with Crazy 8 having the shard of glass) that he took action. That changed him and got him on the path he is on now. I don't think he contemplates very long anymore. He's quick on his feet nowadays. This is the big difference I was talking about. He wasn't offering Jane a sandwich....Not that I have a problem with it. He's just doing what he has to do. |

You are right. He is "faster on the draw" now. That has been our journey with Walt. His "growth" (decline.)
But he still does the Walt contemplation, just in quick time. I am a "means justifies" kind of guy myself. I <3 BB. |

This show is getting harder and harder for me to watch. Don't get me wrong...I still love it, and I feel like it's as addictive as the substance that
it's written about, but it makes me sad now. Last night, I cried the whole episode. (Okay, so a lot of that was probably because they had a newborn, and
I had a newborn that died two months ago...) But, where a while back I felt really sorry for Walt, now I pretty much think he's become a prick. And where
Jesse was a kid that you could tell was sweet, but just a little lost, now I feel like he's a hopeless addict.
I know this isn't supposed to be a feel-good show, but I miss the little comical things that used to get thrown in here and there. |

Incredibly sorry to hear that, Luv2 -- my condolences.
If anything, I like that the show does exactly what it should not -- we're constantly asked to question whether what Walt is doing is "right," when he doesn't himself know anymore. Like Walt, the audience was comfortable with the "anything goes because Walt is dying" dynamic -- and then the show ripped that from us by having Walt actually get better, and having him do the same things. So now the show slying looks at us and says "Okay, how about NOW? Now is he still doing the right thing?" I thought the scene in the laundry room with him and the baby and the hidden money explained it all perfectly. Walt is NOT a good guy anymore, regardless of why he did it in the first place. The girlfriend is another great example -- she looked innocent and sweet, and then when we thought she was in recovery, that she was an angel; but man did she go evil, fast. This is what the life does to you -- there is no good. There is only bad, and badder. This whole thing isn't going to end well for anyone, and I love the fearlessness of the show for sticking to its story.

This is a brilliant show. That's really all there is to it. I'm going to miss it terribly after the season finale.

The reason I love this show so much is because it makes me extremely uncomfortable and very few shows do that. I'm tense the entire episode just waiting
for the next thing to happen. It makes me think. The writing and acting are so damn good I forget these are actors sometimes.
I wish the seasons were longer. |

McWolcott wrote:I share your sentiments to the tee. I feel so nervous/uncomfortable watching it, but I love it. And it's got a huge psychogical/sociological component, which I love. As for the seasons being longer...part of me wishes they were for obvious reasons, but another part of me doesn't. I don't want them to try to do too much in one season or to reduce the overall quality of each episode just to add more episodes. For a series like Breaking Bad, I think 13-episode seasons are a good number because there IS so much drama and so much happening already. Adding more episodes might hurt the overall quality of the show I'd feel like. I just hate that we have such a long wait in between seasons. Of course, whenever the last season is, I totally want them to do a 16 episode season. |

Huh, considering Walt is the one that (accidentally) rolled Jane onto her back, isn't he partly responsible for her suffocating?

I was kind of amused by the scene where Walt meets Jane's dad at the bar, and how it was pretty much ripped off from Sawyer meeting Christian on Lost.

I loved the bar sequence, too -- and loved Green Grass and High Tides on in the background. Nice touch.
Shoot -- I'd been meaning to check that website all day. Nice touch, part deux, if not stolen from the How I Met Your Mother playbook, but I guess they had no reasonable other option. Cool how the donation button goes to the National Cancer Coalition. I don't think Walt can be accused of affirmatively murdering Jane. He just rolled her over, then let nature take its course. Very sad. I know of a perfectly nice guy who was an addict who burned through the last of his stash the night before he was going to get clean. Of course he didn't survive. |

He didn't roll her over. He was shaking Jesse and trying to wake him up. She had her arm around Jesse and during the shake she rolled off of him.
Ditto on the appreciation of the donate button going to National Cancer Coalition. Nice touch. Thanks for posting TFLUN

christy1018 wrote: Exactly. Just because Walt did not have a Hammacher Schlemmer hypoallergenic pillow to place behind her back does not make him in any way complicit in Jane's Jimi Hendrix/Mama Cass style vomit death. Does it? Walter, being a man of science, was just observing a phenomenon. Darwin and all. And like I have said before, I get Walt and why he do what he do. Jane was a big time problem and potential problem. Jane is now gone. I will miss Jane. Jane running about in her panties. Those long legs. Them panties. *sigh* But I suspect that Jane's dad is going to have a BIG problem with this. And with Jesse. Seriously! One more Ep to wrap up this season? Hell, I could do 13 more Eps on what happened on last night episode alone. Bryon Cranston is turning out to be my favorite TV actor ever. Anna Gunn kills me. I love her but hate her character. Aaron Paul is perfect as this loser he portrays. What fucking genius cast all of these people? And what fucking genius combined them with this writing? This show is perfect! |
