Anyonone watch Summer Showdown? I thought Cyntia's room was much better than Vern's. Vern Basically put a bunch of shit in a room. His fireplace was
nice though. But I can see since it was a family room why he won. But cythia actually designed a room

I totally forgot this was on last night. I wasn't even upset because I really didn't care who won. Someone was asking about Kim's show. It sucks.
She has this dumb bag thing where she has people take stuff out of her gift bags and that is her inspiration. I watched a couple of the shows and she is just
not made for TV - too trolly looking.

I only caught bits and pieces of this and found it kinda boring most of the time, even though I watch a fair amount of HGTV stuff. But I did manage to catch
the blond guy sobbing "I want my mommy" after being eliminated. Am I wrong in assuming that was the highlight of the season?

I think HGTV denied him.

I enjoyed watching Tracee squirm when they showed the endless clips of her being a bitch and Michael seemed embarrassed by his editing. Stephanie did not seem
to like hers much either. I didn't get that, tho. Basically everyone just said she was hot and, even tho I don't agree, I can't imagine why she
minded being told she was. Maybe she felt like she wasn't taken seriously? The whole "we're all friends for life" thing was bullshit. I
was glad that Trish didn't give Tracee a pass on her behavior.
I've seen Kim's show. This is the first year of Design Star I've watched but I think Kim's show is ok. She looked horrible when she came on last night but I think she does nice rooms on her show. I love pretty much everything Vern does but I have to agree that I thought Cynthia's room was nicer on the Showdown. Except for the floor. |

Yeha I always liked Vern's stuff on TS but his "design" last nite was boring. I dont watch his show on HGTV cause i found him a little prickish

Today I finally watched the finale. I had been out of town and somehow managed to not find out who the winner was.
Mikey V's absence was strange. Hated queeny Michael being nice to Tracee. I also noticed Jen's lack of enthusiasm at being announced the winner.
Maybe she's going to turn it down. |

Just watched this shit so my late random musings:
- this had to be the most painful hour of television I've ever seen. Honestly, it looked like the budget was $14. Looked like a cable access show. And the editing was BRUTAL. There were numerous instances where they were trying to make a point and then someone would respond. You could clearly tell more was said, but the editing should cover that. In this instance it made it obvious. The editors should all be fired. - Jennifer - yes, completely underwhelming response to her win. And her overbite and plethora of teeth really piss me off. Didn't she have like 400 teeth? And her husband almost made it on the show, howzabout chatting that up a bit? - After this recap, I realize the designers all sucked. Really light years below prior seasons and certainly no personalities. And were there any challenges? I swear we had first episode, bed thing and then show was over. Need more individual challenges to see what these shitbirds can do. When I think back to the Bryant Park glass room thing, this literally looked like a low budget bad copy of that show. Jump the shark? This bitch not only jumped the shark, it fucked the shark in the gills with a big faux painted eco-friendly dick. Oh and then distressed it. - Kim Myles - who the fuck dresses her? A short fat cow wearing a rayon dress should NEVER be shown from behind. Ever. She makes me want to vomit. - The prizes? Jaysus, how low is the budget on this fucking thing? $5,000 prizes? Big fucking deal. These are the 2 finalists for fuck's sake - howzabout $20K? - Michael - I don't have a wife. Well color me shocked. I don't have a 3rd nut. Wow. Big front page news! - Trish - still mannish, but she looked good. Hit the tanning bed and I think here titties looked storebought. - Stephanie - sorry, did I miss something? Is she suddenly hot? She's the classic fat chick with big tits who THINKS she's hot. Kind of like all of those fat fuck bouncers who THINK they are muscular. Stephanie COULD be hot if she put her ass on the treadmill for about 2 years. Chisel off the damn makeup, lose 25 pounds and keep the big titties.....THEN she'll be hot. Now, she's a chubby chick who could be hot. Take away the big titties and no one would care much about her. She really did come across like a dumbfuck though. - Tracee - still an insufferable twat. The worst kind of person - someone who THINKS they are talented at something, but no one (i.e the people that count) feel that way. Michael was just saving face - 'if you are in Kentucky, stop fucking your sister and call Tracee Door - she'll make your shitty house looked reasonably less shitty' |

I guess she did 1 show and we missed it.
Winner of Hit Reality Competition Launches Her Own Special Thursday, January 1, at 5 p.m. ET After painting circles around her competitors and winning the title of HGTV Design Star, Jen Bertrand is ready to make a splash with her new HGTV special, Paint-Over! With Jennifer Bertrand. In the show, premiering on Thursday, January 1, at 5 p.m. ET, Jennifer will paint her way across America and show how a little paintbrush wizardry can transform everything from cabinets and couches to floors and ceilings. Jen will travel across the country searching for homeowners who want a change in their décor and are ready for a "paint-over." In addition, viewers can visit hgtv.com/paintover to check out 10 great Web episodes with step-by-step instructions for projects featured in the special. "Jen's bright style is matched perfectly with her bubbly personality and viewers will respond strongly to both," said Bill Myers, director of programming, HGTV. "Her enthusiasm is infectious, and her clear teaching style makes home design a fun and easy activity instead of an intimidating chore." Paint-Over! features a variety of one-of-a-kind projects from many different places. In each city she visits, Jen's unique style turns drab to fab - making design approachable and fun. In Maryland, Jen will meet soon-to-be parents Shari and Pat Marsden, who need help jazzing up their living room using special no-harm paints. At a train station in Connecticut, Jen will meet James and Nicki Sizemore and agrees to add some new colors to the "outdoor" room where the Sizemores entertain guests. And in Philadelphia, Jen will tackle two projects: First, she will inject some testosterone into one homeowner's "man cave" so he can invite buddies over for poker. Next, Jen will work with the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team to make over the Rivera Recreational Center for the Liga del Barrio charity basketball league. Jen believes that being part of the HGTV family allows her to combine everything she loves "in one package," including her passion for teaching, love of design and ability to make things fun. In addition to Paint-Over!, online viewers can log on to hgtv.com/paintover, where Jen also will share some amazing holiday decorating ideas in a series of Web episodes. Jen also will appear in HGTV Showdown in February 2009, where she will go head-to-head in a battle against other winners of HGTV Design Star. |

I actually saw the special on new years day and liked it. I think she got pregnant immediately after winning (she said she was pregnant on the show) so she
couldn't do a show full time for a while. I wonder if they are done with her or what? I've never seen the special repeated either...very odd for hgtv.

I always get this mixed up with the other show on Bravo. <3 See you later, Decorator! |
