So wait, last season people were upset because Bob and Susie seemed like a completely random F2 (and they were), and Bob was a winner who did very little
except win challenges and somehow convince a crazy chick that he reminded her of her late father.
This season, the F2 were almost completely obvious and dominant throughout the game, and the winner not only won several challenges, but played two different alliances, made some shrewd moves, and was liked by everyone else in the cast. I'm just saying, a 7-0 victory, and also never having a vote against you, means that you're a good player. J.T. may be a little dull but he deserved to win, and the season had enough other interesting people to keep me watching (Debbie, Coach, Sierra, Tyson, Taj, Brendan, Sandy, etc.) |

How the fuck was Sierra interesting? She was bland for the majority of her time on the show...

I guess that defines a shit ending, huh? Editing people: WE (you know, the FANS of the show? Hi!) WERE RIGHT YOU WERE WRONG -SJ™ |

ive actually changed my mind quite a bit after reading jt interviews.
what pissed me off is that noone ever recognized stephens strategic gameplay, not even probst at the reunion. he shouldve asked the jury something like "now that youve seen the show and how well stephen controlled the game, do you think the votes might have been cast differently?". most people in the jury said in their interviews that they didnt realize how well stephen was controlling things, and/or that he was controlling things at all. WHY DIDNT YOU ADDRESS THIS PROBST? WHY? FUCK YOU. what pisses me off even more is that most people somehow think that jt was more deserving and a good guy because he had a sultry voice or whatever it was that made people think he was the second coming of christ. his jury speech was vanuatu winner level of ruthlessness jt was a great winner for sure, but he wasnt the most strategically deserving. |

I said it elsewhere and I've experienced this in ORG's: if you have 2 equally deserving players, you'd better be the one the jury likes more or has
had more of a reason to view as a "deserving" winner. So while Stephen certainly kicked major strategic ass, by trying the "two brains"
argument it left the jury to think "okay, they both shared the same strategic gameplan, but JT provided more food, did better at challenges and we liked
him more".
Would have been nice to see Stephen get some props but I totally understand why the jury voted 7-0. As for the reunion show, now that I've watched, it was pretty bad. -SJ™ |

MikeHaggarKJ wrote:What really would be the point of addressing it? The fact that several jurors stated after the fact they didn't realize how much Stephen did do only solidifies the fact that Stephen unfortunately didn't present himself at FTC as he should have. Jeff doesn't owe Stephen (or any contestant) segment time to confirm or negate something that the contestant should have done themselves. Stephen did play a really good game but he tried to mitigate what he did at the FTC instead of owning it and lest anyone think that JT didn't perform at that final TC perfectly is not giving him enough credit. JT capitalized on how that jury viewed him and his "aw shucks" attitude just sucked them in even further. He knew exactly what he was doing. I don't think it is a fair assessment to not credit JT with strategy - he read these people and gave them exactly what they wanted. The fact that he was viewed like the second coming says a lot about his social skills which IS strategic. That being said, JT himself admitted that he could not have gotten where he was without Stephen and I think Stephen feels exactly the same way. For me, either one could have won and I would have been happy with the outcome because they really utilized each other's strengths to be successful and their friendship/bond was an added bonus. I don't think either would have been this successful if not for the fact they balanced each other perfectly. |

I wonder on ratings ..how significant they are anymore... so many people watch shows on tivo or dvr or online even....

SuperJude |

Well...take L O S T for instance. They don't even crack the top 20 in ratings but are the most DVR'd, TIVO'd and downloaded show on tv so I do
believe Survivor has a larger audience than the numbers reflect. Curious how many views they got on the website?

yeah and they way they set up shows to be watched on hulu and their own websites proves they understand viewers will watch at their convenience, they get their
ad revenue.... Some day Probst isnt going to want to do this anymore... I just hope some version of survivor and big brother is around for a long time. even if
it is a diff producer and host.

Mrpoopypants wrote:They networks could have done this YEARS ago but have been too lame and too stuck in the old model to adapt, till now. Too bad everybody has been downloading Survivor for about 7 years now I must say, all things considered, Survivor never broke balls about the downloading or flagrant use of their material for gifs, avatars and then youtube clips. I believe they always knew they had a key, hardcore audience who just wanted to watch their show. Now, thankfully, they have the episode up 15 minutes after it airs (my time, Pacific). Back on topic, I think Reunion shows are like an all you can eat buffet: seems great when you're about to partake but it's never as good as you imagined it would be. Stephen had the right idea, he just didn't tell his story too well and again, he was screwing up in front of the jury for quite a few rounds. Perception is everything. JT knew this and totally played everybody into his hands, including Stephen the Yale Graduate. -SJ™ |

You nailed it -- perception is everything. JT coasted right through that final tribal, while next to him Stephen looked just like a wild-eyed lawyer, even
down to his asking if he could make a "rebuttal." Stephen was fucked from the minute he opened his mouth and rambled on at 100 miles a minute. His
body language screamed desperation.

SHIT ENDING SEASON.
Though yes the ending was shit as well. Stephen&JT F2 was so fucking boring. The final TC was filled with boring jury questions and boring answers. All the Tocantins jury questions added together couldn't possibly a candle to Catalie's jury question for Parvarti. Tocantins HATE |

Dont know if Stephen even had a chance, but if he did, he blew it at the F3TC or even earlier.
But I wonder about the following: Edit: Dont know how I skipped p2+3 of this thread, question answered.
