Lots of stuff kinda happened, but they didn't really answer too much or even give us an idea what next season would be about like they did before (Season 3's flash forward, Season 4 with Jack going back to the island). Pretty disappointing compared to other finales, and though there was a shitload of build-up, the end result is actually kinda underwhelming. It feels like I got excited for nothing, and usually season finales are the one time you actually do get answers. The worst part is waiting 7-8 months for Lost to return with no fucking clue what's going to happen.

They have always lingered in the background making us wonder, from the moment the Push the Button Every 108 Minutes clock flashed them hieroglyphics back in season 2. The final season will have to delve even deeper into the island history, rooted in an Egyptian heritage, it will have to address the conflict of these two mysterious characters...Jacob and his nemesis. Two seeming godlike entities at odds with each other, manipulating events and people to get the upper hand over each other. It will take the destiny and free will questions of these characters and put them into some type of perspective which hopefully will lead to something satisfyingly thought provoking.

Will they be in the present, a new timeline, etc? This was up there with the S2 finale for me.

Locke was big on Ben going to see the Smoke Monster... and we don't see Locke and the Smoke Monster at the same time. Also, recall Christian being pissed at Locke for letting Ben push the wheel. Reading back, it looks like the same idea "clicked" in a bunch of people's heads. So I'm thinking the smoke monster couldn't cross the circle of ash, and Jacob was safe in the cabin. That was until the circle was broken, and Jacob had to find safe keeping inn the statue?

Even Ben's a small potato compared to Jacob and anti-Jacob. So is that really Anti-Jacob, or is Locke there, too? Anti-Jacob clearly had Locke's personality and memories down pat, so it could be some weird Anti-Jacob/Locke fusion thing going on. Anti-Jacob wasn't a part of Locke until after he died since Locke usually had no fucking clue what he was doing, so I'm really curious how much of the phantom Locke is Locke, if any.

Even if Ben didn't initially know Smokey's power of illusion, he surely learned about it after his run-in with Alex, right? There's just something weird about the whole thing (well, once you get past the inherent weirdness of a bunch of smoke having the ability to impersonate dead people).

This, more than any other finale, is where the show has the potential to take the biggest turn. Will it go back? Will it go forward? Will it be a mix? Giving too much away would spoil the "fun" of waiting all these months. The ending seemed very appropriate.

Conned one last time all the while thinking he was fulfilling a special destiny all the while really just apart of a powergrab. Who the hell is going to clean up his mess? Ben? He has never done anything heroic in his life. I think he'll be content to be a toady for Fake!Locke. Another point. I think Jacob is DEAD! Why? Because the plan of Fake!Locke is too big. I think with Jacob gone, the protective seal on the island will be gone and Widmore will be able to return, finally.
