This is for episode 09:Comments & Polls Thank you very much for reading Episode 9 of SURVIVOR: GABON. Please spend a few minutes to leave some comments and/or predictions for the rest of the story. I certainly do not expect everyone to fill out this survey. If you don't have time to or don't want to, then please feel free to leave any comments you like (even if it's just one or two lines), or just let me know that you read the episode. Anything will help and will be greatly appreciated! COMMENTS & QUESTIONS (A) What did you think of this episode? Please be as detailed as you can, wherever possible. I liked it, but since I was spoiled to the ending because of the title it could have been better lol. It's not your fault, it's my fault for being so behind on school. I enjoyed reading some of the "additional" scenes you put in there (like G. C. rapping), the challenges, and all of the strategy. Overall, it was a well-rounded episode. (B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode? The reward challenge, because I like the concept. (C) What would you rate this episode out of 10? (1 being the lowest; 10 being the highest) 9. The only reason I didn't give it a ten was because I saw the title of the episode so I didn't enjoy the blindside that much. It wasn't your fault though. XD (D) Do you have any questions about this episode that you'd like to see cleared up in a future episode or at the Reunion Show? 1. How sure were Crystal and G. C. that Ace actually had the idol? To me, it seemed like a huge risk that the "Kotas" might be lying. 2. Had Ace brought the HIIs to tribal council, would he have played them? 1. SOLE SURVIVOR POLL (A) Which castaway will be the Sole Survivor? Dan. (B) Who do you NOT want to see as the Sole Survivor? I would be happy seeing any of them win. 2. WHAT'S NEXT POLL (A) Which castaway will be voted off in Episode 10? I'm going to go with Ken, because I don't think it's Randy's time to go yet. If someone switches alliances though... I have no clue what will happen. XD (B) Which castaway will be sent to Exile? Randy. (?) (C) Do you have any other predictions for Episode 10? No, and please don't spoil me lol. I'm trying very carefully to not read any possible spoilers. 3. POPULARITY POLL (A) Please rate each castaway's popularity from 1-10. 1 is the lowest score, while 10 is the highest. Please try to base your ratings only on the likability of the characters in my story, not how they appeared on the real show. Ace - 7 (he's not my favorite type of villian, but you wrote him well). Bob - 10* Charlie - 9 (I absolutely love Charlie in this fanfic). Corinne - 10* Crystal - 8 (again, I think you're a great writer and you are displaying her personality accurately). Dan - 10 (I wanted someone other than Charlie to be my number one, and he has a really good story so far). G.C. - 8 (big character this episode, but he still isn't my favorite (even though I loved his rapping scene)). Gillian - 10* Jacquie - 7 (I love Jacquie, but she is so boring...). Kelly - 10* Ken - 7 (he needs more screen time, who is he again?) Marcus - 10* Matty - 10* Michelle - 10* Paloma - 8 (she's funny, but she needs more of a story in my opinion now that Ace is gone). Randy - 9 (great character, he's my favorite villian and I hope he can make it to the final episode... though I don't want him to win). Sugar - 10* Susie - 10* *I gave all of the people voted out a ten because I thought that their averages needed boosting. 4. EDGIC POLL * For readers familiar with the concept of Edgic. For more information Edgic, please visit this thread: S17 EDGIC (A) Edgic for my fanfics has been very successful over the past few seasons (including choosing Tracy as Micronesia's winner from early on), so I would love to get some reader involvement in determining Edgic ratings again. Please submit your own ratings in this thread. Ratings will be compiled and I'll post the final ratings in a chart before the next episode. Rating: INV, UTR, MOR, CP, OTT Tone: NN, N, Mixed (M) , Neutral (), P, PP Visibility: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 I know that you cannot count this in your edgic ratings, but I thought that you would like to see it anyways... Current Chart * Please factor in your own ratings for Episode 9 for the following questions 1) Based on Edgic, which Survivor(s) do you think have the best chance of winning? 1. Dan. 2. Charlie. 3. Randy. 2) Based on Edgic, which Survivor(s) do you think are not eligible to be the winner, and are therefore "eliminated?" Jacquie, Ken, and Paloma. Again, I wish that I could be caught up school-wise and read these when they come out. Unfortunately, it might be like this for a while. I really enjoy reading them and I hope to be caught up soon! :) |

Hello tropical rain! Thanks a lot for your comments! Sorry about the episode title - I initially had it listed as
"Undisclosed Title" but then I revealed it when it was time for the next episode to be posted. I'm glad you still took the time to comment on
Episode 9 now, and I enjoyed reading what you had to say!
I liked it, but since I was spoiled to the ending because of the title it could have been better lol. It's not your fault, it's my fault for being so behind on school. I enjoyed reading some of the "additional" scenes you put in there (like G. C. rapping), the challenges, and all of the strategy. Overall, it was a well-rounded episode.Sorry about that. I figure that most people read the episode within the week of it coming out, so I didn't even think of that. I'm glad that you still enjoyed the episode though and that the title didn't completely ruin it for you. The reward challenge, because I like the concept. Thanks! :) Thank you for the 9. This would raise the episode average slightly, but I'm not going to alter it now since it's already cemented at whatever's listed on page 1. 1. How sure were Crystal and G. C. that Ace actually had the idol? To me, it seemed like a huge risk that the "Kotas" might be lying.Thank you! I will be sure to ask these at the Reunion. Thanks for your predictions - I won't spoil you - and for filling out the Popularity Poll! Thanks! It is nice to hear. Thank you for all the high numbers in the Popularity Poll. I counted them for this week even though it was for Episode 9. It will really help their averages for this week. I know that you cannot count this in your edgic ratings, but I thought that you would like to see it anyways...Yeah, thanks. It's interesting to see the differences, in Dan's edit particularly. You have given him far fewer positives than have been granted on my official chart. Again, I wish that I could be caught up school-wise and read these when they come out. Unfortunately, it might be like this for a while. I really enjoy reading them and I hope to be caught up soon! :) Thanks again for your comments! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and I'm glad to have you reading the story! Hope you continue to enjoy it, and that your school lets up a bit so you have more free time. Have a great night! :) |

Wow, I never expected Crystal to be at the top of the list.
Oh, and I will try to read and comment on Episode 11 sometime this coming week. I doubt it will be right away (considering I just had minor surgery), but I'll try to get to it as soon as possible. |

Episode 11 - "It's Gonna Suck For Them Too"
Jeff Probst: <narration> Previously on Survivor… <The camera shows an aerial view of the Tribal Council village, and then cuts ahead to show Ace placing his torch into the slot in front of Jeff> Jeff Probst: Ace, the tribe has spoken. <Jeff can now be seen snuffing out Ace's torch> Jeff Probst:<narration> Randy and Ken were outnumbered in the Babongo tribe 5-2, <The camera zooms in on a furious Randy> so Ken hatched a plan to keep himself in the game by turning the tribe against Charlie and Dan's Powerhouse alliance… <The camera shows both Ken and G.C.> Ken: <to G.C.> By making that vote, you let them get control of the game. <A clip of Dan, Charlie, and Paloma swimming in the shallow lake waters is shown, before the camera focuses back in on G.C.> Jeff Probst:<narration> He first made amends with his long-time friend and ally, G.C. <A wide view of both Ken and G.C. is shown, as G.C. holds out his hand and says "Shake my hand"> Ken - CONFESSIONAL: I'm trying to make sure that G.C. knows that the closest three in this game right now are Dan, Charlie, and Paloma, <Another view of the three alliance members swimming is shown> so <long pause> if I can get the other five tribe members to go against that alliance, then yeah, I can have a chance at this game. <A prominent sound is heard, as the camera turns to Ken> G.C.: <to Ken> Well, if we can get Crystal and Jacquie, I'll do it… <A close-up view of Ken is shown, before the camera shows Randy, Ken, Crystal, and G.C. talking> Jeff Probst:<narration> And they did. <Crystal can be heard saying "Okay; alright"> With G.C.'s help, Kenny easily convinced Crystal to go against the Powerhouse… <Crystal is shown talking to Jacquie> Crystal: <whispering> As soon as you get to Final Four, they're gonna take you out, Jacquie… Jeff Probst:<narration> But Jacquie was conflicted… <The camera zooms in on a conflicted Jacquie> Jacquie - CONFESSIONAL: I'm so tempted to switch because I have my heart set on winning. Like, I do not want to settle for fourth place at all. <The camera continues to show an undecided Jacquie> Jeff Probst:<narration> Having to weigh her friendships with Kota against her desire to win it all… Jacquie - CONFESSIONAL: It really doesn't matter which side I go with because I have no one who'll bring me to the Final Two… <A prominent drumbeat is heard, before the camera abruptly cuts ahead to show a clip of Dan searching for the hidden Immunity Idol on Exile> Jeff Probst:<narration> With Jacquie undecided, the other obstacle to Kenny's plan was the re-hidden Immunity Idol, which was found by Dan… <An excited Dan is now shown with a delighted grin on his face, as he reaches down and picks up the hidden Immunity Idol> Dan: <to camera> Wow! I just found the Immunity Idol. <The camera cuts ahead to show a clip of Crystal, G.C., Randy, and Ken talking in a jungle area> G.C.: I think Dan might have the idol… <Crystal can be seen nodding her head dramatically> Jeff Probst:<narration> Fearing that Dan might have found the idol, the Fang alliance agreed to vote out Paloma… <A clip of an unsuspecting Paloma is shown, before the camera returns to Ken> Ken: If we really want to make it, like, foolproof, we should take out Paloma because if he gives the idol to anyone I guarantee it's gonna be Charlie before Paloma. <The camera then shows Jacquie> Jacquie: Who are you guys voting? <A close-up view of Ken is then shown next> Ken: <to Jacquie> It's gonna be Paloma… <Crystal can be seen grabbing Ken by the arm, as she says "Wait." Jacquie is then shown looking surprised and uncertain> Jeff Probst:<narration> But reluctant to fully trust Jacquie, they quickly switched their target back to Dan. <The music now changes, as the camera scrolls over to a contemplative Randy> Randy - CONFESSIONAL: I would like to see Paloma go. I think she's annoying, but <long pause> if Dan does find the idol, the last thing he'll expect is that we'd vote for the guy who might have the idol. <The camera fades out to show Dan> I mean, that sounds so stupid that it's actually brilliant. <'Tally the Vote' plays, as the camera shows an aerial view of the Gabonese village Tribal Council> Jeff Probst:<narration> At Tribal Council, <Dan can be seen handing the hidden Immunity Idol to Jeff> Dan sensed his vulnerability and wisely played his idol… <Jeff is now shown again> Jeff Probst: All votes cast against Dan will not count. <The camera shows a relieved Dan smiling> Jeff Probst:<narration> Saving himself for the fourth consecutive Tribal Council. <Prominent drumbeats are now heard, as the camera shows rapid clips of Jeff revealing the four votes for Dan> Jeff Probst:<narration> With the votes against Dan nullified, <Jeff can now be seen revealing the vote for Paloma> Paloma received one stray vote from Jacquie… <The camera shows a stunned Paloma looking up, and then scrolls over to a tense-looking Jacquie> Jeff Probst:<narration> But Ken's scheming caught up with him when the Powerhouse decided to spare the more volatile Randy and eliminate the bigger threat… <Jeff reaches back into the urn and pulls out the eighth and final vote. He unfolds it, and then quickly looks down at it> Jeff Probst: Tenth person voted out of Survivor: Gabon: <Jeff now reveals the deciding vote to the castaways> Kenny. <Ken is then shown placing his torch into the slot in front of Jeff> Jeff Probst: Kenny, the tribe has spoken. <Jeff can now be seen snuffing out Ken's torch> Jeff Probst:<narration> Leaving Randy to avenge the loss of his closest friend and ally… <A close-up view of an infuriated Randy is then shown, as the camera zooms in on him> Randy - CONFESSIONAL: If they think they've seen the worst of me, think again. With Kenny gone, um, there's no holding back. To hell with 'em… <The camera now scrolls over to a relieved Dan> Jeff Probst: <narration> Seven are left. <The camera shows Jacquie grabbing her torch>Who will be voted out tonight? <An aerial view of the Tribal Council village is shown, as the screen fades out> Opening Credits: 'Ancient Voices of Gabon' begins to play, as the camera shows a close-up view of the blazing sun shining down on the African grassland, and then abruptly cuts ahead to show a circle of silhouetted tribal dancers. A hippo can be seen emerging from the water and opening its mouth widely, before the Survivor: Gabon logo flashes onto the screen for a quick second. Two elephants are shown tromping side-by-side, before the camera shows an aerial view of a grassy cirque. The words "18 Castaways" now appear, as the camera shows a rapid clip of the nine Fang tribe members hiking through the grasslands. A fast-forwarded view of the sky is shown, as the clouds rapidly shift around a lone tree and day turns to night. The words "39 Days" appear on the screen, as the camera cuts ahead to show the starry night sky, and then abruptly cuts ahead to show a quick clip of a tribal mask. The camera shows a darkened view of the spooky Tribal Council village and scrolls across many shadowy figures and burning torches. The words "1 Survivor" appear on the screen, as the camera shows the silhouette of a castaway standing alone in front of a traditional African hut and holding up a torch triumphantly. Many rapid and indistinguishable images continue to flash onto the screen, before the camera shows the Survivor: Gabon logo and focuses on it for a few seconds. The theme music finishes, as the screen fades out. |

Babongo Tribe - Night 27
<'Sorcery' plays, as the infrared camera shows a view of the dark clouds shifting in front of the moon, and a haunting tribal chant is heard. The camera then fades out to show a half-submerged crocodile lurking in the cold lake waters, before switching angles to show a clip of the seven remaining Babongo members returning back to camp. G.C. is now shown> G.C.: That was kinda crazy… <Dan is shown setting his torch up against the side of the hut> Dan: <whispering to Charlie> Randy's fuming! <A close-up view of Charlie is shown next> Charlie: <to Dan> I don't think I've ever seen him that angry… <Dan can be seen smiling> Dan: <to Charlie> It couldn't have gone better though… <Charlie now says "I know," before the infrared camera switches angles to show a view of a furious Randy> Randy - CONFESSIONAL: Tribal Council was interesting. Uh, Dan, Charlie, and Paloma voted Kenny off; <short pause> Dan had the hidden Immunity Idol, <Dan now high-fives Charlie, as he says "Saved again"> so Kenny went home. <Randy is shown again> I thought it was gonna be me that went, but <long pause> uh, nothing's changed. <The infrared camera shows G.C. and Crystal sitting by the fire> Crystal, G.C., and Jacquie are still part of my alliance, so all it did was prolong his fate <short pause> for the fourth time. It bought him three more days, but he's still going home. <Randy is now shown talking to Crystal and G.C.> Randy: Dan has got to go. He doesn't have another idol, and… <Crystal now looks up> Crystal: <to Randy> Just as long as Jacquie doesn't [censored] us over… <The infrared camera turns to show Jacquie pouring beans out into a pot> Jacquie: <to Dan> Are you really hungry? <Dan can now be seen looking towards Jacquie> Dan: <to Jacquie> I'm starving... <Another infrared view of a watchful Randy is shown next> Randy - CONFESSIONAL: The trio from Kota have now voted out my two closest allies, so it doesn't bother me one bit that they're gonna be the next three to go. <Jacquie says "They're ready," as Dan can be seen scooping beans out of the pot> It sucked for me, and guess what? It's gonna suck for them too. <An angry Randy is then shown again> I am gonna cut their heads off. Every last one. <There is a prominent drumbeat, as the camera shows Charlie eating a spoonful of beans, and then cuts ahead to show Paloma talking to Jacquie> Paloma: I'm just wondering, like, why I got a vote… <The camera now shows Jacquie> Jacquie: <to Paloma> Because they told me it was gonna be you; <short pause> like, I was shocked that they voted Dan… <Another view of Paloma is then shown> Paloma: <to Jacquie> Like, are you in an alliance with Fang, or was it, like, a one-time vote? Jacquie: <to Paloma> I'm undecided… <Paloma now asks "You are?"> Jacquie - CONFESSIONAL: Tonight's Tribal Council was a total blindside for me. <A clip of G.C. scooping beans out of the pot is shown> I honestly thought Paloma was going home, so now I look like an idiot for voting her off. <Another view of Jacquie and Paloma is shown next> Jacquie: <to Paloma> I'm sorry; I didn't know… <The camera now zooms in on Jacquie> Jacquie - CONFESSIONAL: <continued> I feel like I got used by both sides because I know that nobody's gonna bring me to the Final Two. <Jacquie is shown again> I mean, I'm on the outskirts of everyone… <A clip of Crystal and Jacquie talking by the lake is now shown> Jacquie: <to Crystal> Like, why was I kept on the outside that nobody clued me in? <The infrared camera zooms in on Crystal> Crystal: The thing was, we thought if Dan had the idol, he would give it to Charlie or Paloma… Jacquie: <to Crystal> But you thought I was gonna tell them it was Paloma? <Crystal can now be seen shaking her head, as the camera continues to focus on her> Crystal: <to Jacquie> No; it's not that, it's just… <Crystal continues to speak to Jacquie> Crystal - CONFESSIONAL: Jacquie is continuing to play the role of the swing vote, and <long pause> the reason why that we didn't trust Jacquie is because Jacquie is playing this game for Jacquie, <A wide view of several Babongo members at camp is shown> and <pause> I'm playing the game for Crystal. <The infrared camera shows Jacquie talking to Crystal again> Jacquie: <to Crystal> Well, I wish you would've told me because I would have told you guys it was dumb, <There is a prominent sound, as Crystal tenses her expression> and Paloma would've gone home… <The infrared camera continues to show Crystal> Crystal - CONFESSIONAL: <continued> She could flip back this next vote and vote Randy. <A rapid view of an outraged Randy is shown next> You know, she gots to make up her mind if she wants to be Fang or if she wants to be Kota, <Crystal is now shown glaring ahead> cause it can't be both… <There is a prominent drumbeat, before the screen fades out>
Babongo Tribe - Day 28
<A mysterious music plays, as the camera shows an overhead view of the vast Gabonese jungle, and then switches angles to show an elephant parading through a grassy field. A close-up view of a gorilla is then shown, before the camera cuts ahead to show the Babongo tribe's flag. Charlie is now shown crouched down by the fire pit, before he looks over at Dan> Charlie: <to Dan> Day 28. Almost over… <The camera shows Charlie scraping the machete against the flint. A close-up view of Dan is then shown> Dan: <to Charlie> Go like this… <Dan can be seen making a striking motion with his hand, before the camera focuses back in on Charlie, and he continues to strike the flint> Charlie - CONFESSIONAL: I am a huge Survivor fan; <short pause> I've watched every episode of Survivor, and I cannot believe I'm still here on Day 28. <Charlie now strikes the flint with the machete again, as a few sparks are generated> Every day I wake up, I think I'm in a dream, <Another view of the castaways lying in the shelter is shown next> and for a while, it was a great dream <laughs> but things have recently taken a turn for the worst. <A fire now ignites, as Charlie gently blows on it> Um, at last night's Tribal Council, Jacquie decided to join up with Fang… <The camera shows Charlie tending to the fire, and then scrolls over to Dan> Dan: <to Charlie> Is that wood burning pretty good now? <Charlie says "Yeah"> Charlie - CONFESSIONAL: <continued> I personally don't know why she flipped, but she did, so <pause> right now, my alliance with Dan and Paloma is in dire straights, <The camera shows a clip of Paloma walking by the lake> and we're gonna have to work hard to get ourselves out of this predicament because if Jacquie stays in an alliance with the three Fang members, <A view of Jacquie is shown> the odds are definitely stacked against us… <The music now changes, as the camera focuses back in on both Charlie and Dan again> Charlie: <to Dan> We're gonna have to plan out all our next moves… <Dan nods his head> Dan: <to Charlie> We can't do anything without Jacquie. <Charlie is then shown again> Charlie: <to Dan> But, <long pause> I think that it's gonna have to be Randy and then Crystal… <Dan can be seen nodding again, as he says "Exactly, yeah"> Charlie - CONFESSIONAL: Everyone's assuming that I would never ever vote against Dan, but <pause> that's definitely not the case. <The camera continues to focus on a thoughtful-looking Dan> He's a great friend, yes, but <long pause> part of my strategy is not to betray people until it's absolutely necessary, <Charlie is shown again> and at this stage in the game, my plan is to go to the Final Two with Paloma… <There is a prominent drumbeat, as the camera shows a fast-forwarded view of the clouds shifting in the sky and then fades out to show Jacquie and Randy walking along a jungle path to retrieve treemail> Jacquie: <to Randy> I know that you and Kenny were really tight, so I was thinking maybe we should be an alliance… <The camera now zooms in on Randy> Randy: <to Jacquie> Do you really think it's Crystal and G.C. in the Final Two? <Jacquie nods> Jacquie: <to Randy> I feel like they'll never, ever break. <Randy then says "Yeah"> One of us has to find the Immunity Idol… <There is a spooky shift in the music, as the camera shows Randy tensing his expression. Jacquie is then shown again> Jacquie - CONFESSIONAL: The only way for Randy and I to get into the Final Two would be with an idol because I already know for sure that G.C. and Crystal are gonna take each other to the end, <The camera shows both Crystal and G.C. lying in the shelter together> so <short pause> I really need that alliance so that I won't be the fourth one out… <Jacquie is shown> Jacquie: <to Randy> Once we get to the Final Four, it'll be even. <Randy nods his head> We vote for Crystal and one of us shows the Immunity Idol, and that'll be it. <Randy can be heard saying "She'll go home"> Then all we'd have to do is beat G.C. in the last challenge… <The camera now zooms out to show both Jacquie and Randy again> Randy: <to Jacquie> You and me, <pause> and they'll never see it coming. <Jacquie smiles> Jacquie: <to Randy> You and me… <laughs> <The camera abruptly cuts back to Randy> Randy - CONFESSIONAL: As of right now, my only option is to go to the Final Two with Jacquie, but <pause> the problem with that is she's counting on there being another, uh, hidden Immunity Idol. <Randy and Jacquie continue to walk towards the treemail basket> Jacquie: <to Randy> That makes me feel so much better because I feel like now we might actually have a chance… <laughs> <A tense-looking Randy is then shown> Randy - CONFESSIONAL: <continued> The idol took away my friend, Kenny, and <long pause> I have more hate in me than ever. <Jacquie and Randy can now be seen returning back to camp with treemail> If Jeff says there's another idol, he can take it and shove it up his ass… <A comical sound is heard, as the screen abruptly fades out> |

It may be completely different three days from now… <The camera now cuts ahead to show a thoughtful-looking Charlie, as Jacquie continues to speak> Charlie - CONFESSIONAL: I would definitely say that Jacquie has been very underestimated in this game. <Another view of Jacquie is shown next> She's very strategic, very analytical, and she's weighing her options carefully, and <long pause> up until now, her vote hasn't really been that pivotal, but <pause> it's especially valuable at the next Tribal Council because Jacquie's sitting in the middle of two very solid groups of three… <Charlie is shown again> Charlie: <to Jacquie> This is [inaudible] being honest; if you stay with Fang, I think Crystal and G.C. are gonna be the Final Two, <Jacquie is shown with a pensive look on her face> unless Randy finds an idol or something… <The camera continues to show Jacquie> Jacquie: <to Charlie> I want to go with who I think is better for me right now, and I'm not normally like that, <The camera zooms out to show a wide view of the three Babongo members> but this is the only time in our lives when there's, like, a million dollars on the line… Charlie: <to Jacquie> If you put that aside, who would you go with? <Jacquie now looks up> Jacquie: <to Charlie> I would rather go with you guys cause you guys were my friends from Kota, you know? <The camera shows another view of Charlie> Charlie: <to Jacquie> We could be a foursome again… <Jacquie is shown again> Jacquie: <to Charlie> But <long pause> the only thing that worries me is that I would have to flip back; you know what I mean? <An expressionless Charlie is shown next> Charlie: <to Jacquie> Yeah; I totally do… <The camera then scrolls back over to Dan> Dan: <to Jacquie> I respect that… <The camera zooms back in on both Charlie and Jacquie> Charlie - CONFESSIONAL: I'm devastated right now. I thought it would be easy to get Jacquie to come back with us, but she's not giving a firm answer. <Jacquie can be heard saying "I don't even want to think about it right now"> If I felt confident that she was definitely gonna stay with Fang, there's always the option that both sides could team up for one round and get rid of Jacquie, <A view of the three Babongo members is shown> but <pause> I really hope it doesn't come to that. <Charlie is now shown> Randy and Crystal have to go… <There is a prominent drumbeat, before the screen fades out> Babongo Tribe - Reward
