Erinn STILL has the perfect visibility numbers for a female winner. Now the content of her edit and the arcs of her edit is debatable, but people who are
saying she isn't VISIBLE enough to win are incorrect. She's actually right where she needs to be in that regard.

If this was a season like S11 or S17, Erinn's edit would be fine for the win.
But Stephen's edit is just too good. While there are hints at Steve betraying JT, there is nothing to suggest the Jollypal boys would entirely blow it. |

I'm guessing average viewers would see this and think maybe these guys will get their comeuppance. And I'm guessing average viewers would see this and HOPE maybe these guys will get their comeuppance. And Stephen's bewilderment that they are in control and people come to them was almost reassuring. He isn't all that confident. He's astonished. Oh, I would say that pretty much every J/S pow-wow has both JT and Stephen being VERY confident. Stephen's early season astonishment of "stumbling ass-backwards into an alliance" is LONG GONE. |

For the record, I said Bob was the obvious winner last season after the F3 spoiler came out. Just not in here. OMG I'm so smart!!
* The precise nature of Erinn's deal with Stephen\JT remains somewhat mysterious, while Debbie and Coach's plans with them are all spelled out. I think that's good for Erinn's longevity. I did find it interesting that after Debbie's little "OMG I'll let you be f2" thing, we then saw JT/Stephen giggling about it with Erinn. She's pretty clearly in an alliance with them + Taj, but for whatever reason we've never really seen the four of them talking about it. |

No doubt, though, that Erinn definitely got great confessionals-with the glorious music-at the family visit.

And if that's the case, then the editors have FAILED this season. Oo, I gotta warn you that we always think up better seasons than what goes down. (Except for Cirie's EI game changer. That's still one of the coolest moments.) I'm with Kitty Pryde, cl, and Warrior. Stephen is going to be there with someone other than JT. JT made another speech tonight about "Me and Stephen" going all the way. While last week, Stephen made his TC speech about separating your personal feelings from the game and dealing with the results of blindsiding. That's gotta pay off somewhere. They've been building that collision since before the merge. Erinn could be Stephen's F-2 partner, but her visit with Dad was a continuation of how the girlie-girl has done so well in the grungy wilderness. As RedWing points out, that goes back to her Ep1 second confessional. Edgic money on Stephen. Fun bet on Taj as the F-2. (Kitty, I hope you note that I went back and corrected your nic spelling. I'm such a kiss-ass.)

Coach - MORN2 (What!?!? Not OTT!?!? Well, he was hardly shown in this episode except for right at the beginning and some small negative comments from the
others here-and-there).
Debbie/Merhag - CP4 (I got no tone for her, she had a good mix of both but overall I don't think the viewer is supposed to feel like "awwww Debbie got voted out." She tried though. Can't say she didn't try). Erinn - MORP2 (Yay, I'm strong! Yay my dad means so much to me!... That's about it. They're just reminding us that Erinn's still there. I'm convinced she's out of the running to win now). JT - CPP5 (God, could they have shoved him down our throat any more!?!? He got enough strategy talk in there and the viewer is supposed to love him). Stephen - CPP5.. better yet, make a 6 or 7 or 8 just for him *rolls eyes* (I just want him to shut up. SHUT UP! His confessionals are extremely boring yet the show insists on showing him all the time because he's like a strategic mastermind. *rolls eyes again* Despite my comments, I don't hate him... but the show sure is making it hard for me to like him). Taj - OTTP2 (Playing for 3rd.) Winner: 1. Stephen 2. JT A couple of episodes ago, I was championing Erinn... but it's just painfully obvious that she's not playing to win either and now that the numbers are not on her side, she's done for/banking on miraculous immunity wins. She may be the runner-up. |

Coach was OTT. No doubt. He had his moment of hating Erinn/Taj for not voting Sierra, plus while everyone else got sweet family moments, Coach's moment
was getting the most homoerotic massage ever from his assistant coach.

flf, you might want to read cl's posts a little closer. I don't think predicting a Stephen/JT final two is quite the
same as Stephen + someone other than JT. I'm with cl on this one, they are manipulated as equivalents in every sense. Strategically and socially they share
similar strengths. They're scenes are almost perfectly divided in half, to the point where I'm thinking the editors are building episodes around how
they can draw the most parallels between the two edits.
I was with you on the distinction that Stephen talks about himself whereas JT talks about the both of them, but even that was challenged this episode. Right after JT's talk with Stephen about trusting each other, Stephen gets a manipulated confessional where he discusses how "we" are controlling the game. He then goes on to explain how Timbira members will be picked off. I'm fairly sure (though not 100%, I'll have to rewatch the episode for that) that his "we" was referring to the Jalapao 3, but the edit makes it seem like he's specifically referencing himself and JT. Stephen definitely talked about "we" this episode. Erinn is a great character when she gets to shine, but I can't justify her as a winner. Firstly, her receiving more jury votes than any of the remaining contestants (besides Coach) would be unjustified (not just surprising). Secondly, it seems like she's getting the "already a winner" edit from a personal growth story which will satisfy us when she gets her boot. And lastly, she seems to be denied the really prime opportunities to explain her reasoning for the boot. We don't really know a lot about her role in some of these boots, which is alarming. Completely unrelated: Am I the only one who is actually enjoying this season? I know everyone seems to be bitching about the editing and how awful JT and Stephen are, but I think I genuinely like all the characters (or at least appreciate them, Coach is getting more bearable). In fantasy land, I'm totally pulling for an Erinn/Taj or Erinn/JT F2. |

taj, I'm absolutely enjoying this season. Good characters, some good strategists, some OTT personalities, a twist (2 to EI) that actually made the game
more intriguing, a physical environment that is reminiscent of S2.
