If Erinn didn't go to exile then she would be at camp with some combination of Coach/Deb/Sierra. Those people would obviously try to convince her to join a some new alliance. Erinn may not have changed her plan but why should JT/Stephen give Coach/Deb/Sierra a chance to talk to her without them around. Especially since not being invited to the reward would tell Erinn she is in fourth position of her current alliance. Too bad for Erinn but it was the best and obvious choice for Stephen to make at the time.

Stephen knew damn well that there was not gonna be another HII just pop up at exile. He should have sent Sierra to exile and left JT to babysit Coach and Debbie at camp. JT has been on almost every friggin' reward, including the pizza/IC meal. He must've gained 20 pounds so far this season.

I wonder why they didnt devote any time to this footage. It would of been a nice payoff for her "life changing" journey on exile.
