Erinn's one big storyline was successfully surviving the storms at Exile. Taj's one big storyline was remembering her kid while comforting the child
at the farm. OTTP for both.

OTT - Over the topDoes not fit either. Neither were simplified or characterized or presented as a villain or hero. We got some complexity from both of them, but the rest of the episode they were UTR, which leads me to MOR. |

I really think Stephen wins. Last season, the Onions were focused on even though they started to get massacred right before the merge. It seemed like one of
the Fang "misfits" were going to win and that the focus on the Kota 5 was pointless. However, when Bob ended up winning, it seemed like there was a
purpose behind the focus on Kota because Bob managed to survive past the Fangs.
This is why I think there was such a huge focus on the Exile Alliance. For one, it was sort of an unprecedented alliance that hadn't been seen before, but surely THIS much focus on them couldn't have been necessary if someone like JT were to win. I think Stephen eventually overcomes JT and we will find that the focus on the Exile Alliance was because Stephen would eventually reject that option and still manage to win. |

Let me preface this by saying I am the biggest Erinn fanboy there is. I love her and have been praising her edit since the goddamned first episode.
But come on, isn't it obvious where this game is going to go now? Debbie next, then Coach, then Taj/Stephen/JT/Erinn final 4. Stephen turns on JT because he's too likeable/strong/dangerous. Taj/Stephen/Erinn with Stephen/Erinn in the F2. Or if that's wrong, it's replaced by Erinn going out 4th once the Jalapao 3 are done using her, and a Stephen/Taj final 2 with Stephen winning. There is no hope for Erinn, even if she makes the finals. There isn't going to be bitterness with Stephen, the kid is a fag hag who overcame nothing, but they won't care. |

An interesting episode. If Stephen bought worry beads as his luxury item they'd be worn down to grains of sand by now. My gosh, he is always looking for
ulterior reasons, the best route, the least dangerous path through the minefield. And his explanation of understanding the motives of other players was a very
smart explanation of why he voted for Sierra: If he can clearly understand the motivations of another player you can better forecast their moves. Which is
why he didn't pick Sierra.
I thought Sierra was one of the strongest M's I've ever seen. She railed against the liars, and was P SPV'd about how she showed Deb and Coach for what they were. But there was also a lot of N SPV. She might be a poster child for OTTM from now on, at least for this episode. Deb and Coach? My gosh, what a strategic crapfest they had going! Debbie: Dissing the person they need, and then having a fit when Sierra actually pointed out some stuff, then lying about it. (Although I did like her maneuver against Coach in the previews; love her or hate her, that's pretty tough play right there.) Coach was... amazing. (No, Ben, if you're reading this it's not a compliment). He actually recognized that he and Deb were up the creek. But he simply couldn't do anything with this knowledge, or the obvious fact that the 3 Jambos are in control of the 4 ex-Timburas. A Stephen would have asked Erinn what her best play would be for her to get to F4, and let her answer. Coach is incapable of this sort of concept because it actually requires him to think from the perspective of someone else. Instead, he asked for loyalty!! And it was so demeaning that Sierra told him to shove it, when in actuality it was probably her best play to go back and reconstitute a Timbura tribe. Oh, heck. all three of 'em are morons. This is an object lesson, boys and girls, about why you play nice with everyone in your tribe. Erinn was a nice little MOR2, with maybe a bit o' P. But the main thrust of her face time was the experience rather than the game. And NOBODY THERE seems to know how to use the flint. JT? The perfect foil for Stephen. What a tag-team. Stephen does the strategizing and worrying, JT does the physical stuff and schmoozing with Deb and Coach. This is the first time ever I wish they'd just give both of 'em a million. They deserve it. Taj? Did she say "too much drama?" I wish she had. Her stuff with the baby was charming, her comments about soap operas were funny and spot on. But she is simply a non-entity with significant strategy. Question - was anyone else wondering if selecting the 3 Jambos for the reward was the smartest move? There is no way I would have left Deb and Coach alone with Sierra, even if she is a half-wit. Heck ,the 3 of them are half-wits. It worked out okay - the 3 of them became farther apart after the reward when they self-immolated back at camp, but with any other 3 players of reasonable quality Stephen's selection may have been dangerous. |

Not having taken any notes or anything, these are my impressions:
*Taj - OTT2P All Taj had was the baby scene where she literally stole a native's baby. laughs. Also, the usual general commentary about Timbira being a clusterfuck and making it WAY TOO easy for Jalapao to make it to the end. Easy rating. I guess UTRP fits too, but the viewers is left with the "awwwwwwww!" impression of Taj, which is not UTRP, but OTTP. *Dragon Slayer - OTT4N Before, editing showed him as a buffoon. Now, editing has shown the Dragon Slayer as a hypocritical buffoon with his lying to JT. While, honestly, I didn't explicitly see him say to Sierra that Timbira needed to get together (he simply asked her where her loyalties lied), editing WAS explicitly clear that it was not on his side. We were supposed to moan and groan when he won the IC, even though it was set up early on that Debbie may potentially be a better boot target ebfore him anyway. *Debbie - CP4N She starts off the episode with Coach being uber-fake with the people who backstabbed them. She reveals that Jala backstabbed them and she's still pissed about it. No one bought her fakeness anyway, but she rightfully should be pissed still. She came up with the strategy of bringing back Timbira due to Jala3's controlling the boots and taking out the numbers the way they want to. She explained this in details to coach and even questioned whether rejoining Stephen/JT was a wise decision since they could just boot them at 5th and 4th with Taj's help. When the hope of a Timbira revival was crushed, she got into nasty spats with Sierra and was exposed for scheming against her allies and being a hardcore player willing to make big moves in order to win. Sierra - OTT4M Definitely wasn't negative, but I think her tone is mixed in the way that the opinion of Sierra is left up for the viewer to decide. She's still throwing temper tantrums, and everyone still deservedly dislikes her. She turns down the timbira revival and in response gets into heated he-said she-said arguements with ex-allies Debbie/coach. Even though she's telling the truth, her exit is well-deserved, with our only hope being that Coach/Debbie goes in 6th and 5th in the following weeks. JT - MOR3 visibility around average? He made a statement that I thought wasn't good for his winner chances; something relating to people continuing to trust him even though he's a liar too. That doesn't give us much doubt in his ability to make it to the end, contrasted with Stephen's constant "I'm afraid of Timbira" despite the viewer knowing that it was not going to happen at all. Other than that key comment, I don't remember much of importance other than his conversation with Coach about taking him and Debbie to the F4 with Stephen. Stephen CP3-4 He was definitely compelx. He explained his reaction to Debbie/Coach, analyzed the pros and cons to keeping the deal with Debbie/coach or Sierra. He explained the strategy behind sending Erinn. He was constantly paranoid about the Timbira revival. Classic CP edit that I think just strengthened his chances to win. Erinn - MOR2P She was sent on Exile Island where she struggled a lot. She had the sympathetic shots and the rain pouring down on her, which gave her time for self reflexion on how this is the toughest thing that a prissy hairdresser like her has had to ever do. Other than her scene there, she had little to 0 exposure, which is too bad since she just had an amazing episode last week. |

wth is up with Taj's UTR streak? She was such a huge presence premerge. Weird.
Oh well I like her a lot more now that she's not so in our faces. Now I'm just sick of Stephen, JT and Coach |

Ben - OTTN5, Coach was shown as a complete hypocrite and liar.
Debbie - CPM3, There was some P moments but I also felt like there were some N as well with the whole Coach/Sierra/Debbie strategy scene. Erinn - MORP2, I know the chart says a 1 but I think she at least deserves a 2 but I'll rewatch. JT - MOR3, toneless and same old same old since the merge but not as visible. Stephen - CP4 Sierra - OTTM3, I saw some N and P moments but I wouldn't argue with a P Taj - MORP2, We saw her comment on how she misses her family and even saw her go into mommy mode, we saw her on reward and we saw her once again commrny on how much fun it is to see Timbira fall apart. |

Good lord, just a heads up to everyone- stay out of Erinn's thread ("ERINN : "Stephen - Never Again, SWEAR" !!!!! ") in Sucks proper. Some idiot posted a spoiler not in spoiler tags, so now I have inadvertently read the only damn spoiler in existence. That isn't really a spoiler - just an inference from the preview of upcoming challenges in the Recap that might well be incorrect. In other spoiler news, Sierra was supposed to make F6. |

Although the raw #s for Erinn clearly indicate a 1 visibility, I think it's somewhat different when just about everything a person says is in one
concentrated solo section - typically in Exile Island. (Did these #s include her comments at the IC?) Compare to Taj, who had a few more sentences, but
except for her confessional about the hurt child on the reward were just interspersed here and there through the ep. They to me seemed to have a similar
impact: No strategy, just personal stuff, and reasonably P.

Um what makes Erinn's exile scene CPP? She bitched about how she couldn't make fire, that's about it. She didn't connect to the game at all,
other than making herself just seem pathetic for still not being able to start a fire.
I'm still amazed by these Erinn fanboys that think she's going to win. Newsflash, Erinn is nothing more than a supporting character. She ain't winning, and if you used your correct head you could deduce that. It's clearly down to JT or Stephen. Erinn was UTR this episode. She barely existed outside of Exile, while people like Debbie who have been UTR all season finally showed up. |

Coach: OTTN5 (d'uh)
Merhag: CPM4 (She had fights with Sierra, but also had people talking about how she is a great gamer and wants to win, plus her own confessionals about the game... clearly mixed signals) Erinn: MORP2 (She survived exile. How sweet. That's about it. I still think she wins somehow.) JT: CP4 Sierra: CP4 Stephen: CP4 Taj: OTTP2 (She cried about her kid and I really don't remember anything else she did or said in the episode. She's clearly like 3rd or 4th place no matter which way you slice it.) Winner: Erinn or Stephen... I feel like Erinn is the winner, but I also feel like the show wants us to want Stephen to win. |

Just watched the insider videos and Taj and Erinn both promised Sierra that they wouldn't vote for her.
