Harmon licensed out the character name to several other stations across the country, who each individually produced their own Bozo shows in addition to the Chicago version.
And yeah, Bob Bell passed away a few years ago. I think it was the mid-90s, but I'm fuzzy on my news stuff, although I do remember hearing about it on
the news.
