I felt bad for Anoop when he hit that wonky note at the very end of his performance. You could see the disappointment on his face. Unlike these other fools who are constantly out of tune and think they are the bomb, at least Anoop knows when he goes off pitch. Just wish Anoop would have had another flawless vocal, though, last night. Hopefully, that bad note won't do him in and the benefit of getting the pimp spot and people remembering how well he has done in the past vocally will save him. Not to mention the fact that Anoop is a good looking guy, especially when standing near the likes of Chokey & Matt. I'm hoping for the best tonight.

The last person to perform always has a pre-taped version of the ending of their song play when Ryan does the recap. They've always done it that way as far as I can tell. I assume it is because they don't have enough time to edit out a portion of the song and add it to the tape with all the other clips.

First, Anoop walked straight down to the judges' table and got into what looked like a very respectful and cordial conversation with Simon that ended with the men shaking hands, and Cory announced that he was going to give Britney an iPod Touch, and have Anoop sign it. I'm sure that iPod Touch will keep her warm on the long, lonely nights she's destined to spend alone now that she's been Heismanned by the 'Noop Dawg, Cory. That's sweet. That link also has other mentions of Anoop and his parents. Maybe he expects to leave this week or is asking for advice. He also had a similar conversation with Kara last week, according to last week's report. Also, there's another article at EW bout Anoop's parent being awesome last night.

That sophisticated glide he found so effortlessly once the beat kicked in? The great little synth-ripples underneath? The pimped-out ensemble? Not even Anoop's Sam Eagle eyebrows can obscure the fact that he knows what the fuck he's doing. It's kind of amazing: We finally have a contestant who understands and knows how to sing tricky, high-gloss R&B with style and sincerity, which makes him the closest thing to a a current candidate since forever, and the judges have no idea what to do with him. If Anoop did somehow subvert logic and win this year (which he won't) or if he ends up landing a major-label contract anyway (conceivable), he's the only contestant this year who stands the slightest chance of making actual great music consistently. Someone buy this kid a Polow track and let him do what he does.
