I think Tyson made a huge mistake by winning that first immunity - especially when he didn't need it. That moves the target squarely onto his back because
now he's a huge liability to win them all the time. He should have dropped down and let Debbie have it.

LOVED that opening scene with Coach. As a music nut, I recognized Orff's "O Fortuna" right away. Does Coach really have that on his website? (I
hate him so much that I refuse to visit his website.) Now that I think about it, that was a very interesting musical choice. I know in pop culture it is used
to convey dramatic situations. The poem that it is based on is really about Fortune or Fate and man's struggle against it. Here is a translation of the
last verse:
Fate, in health and virtue, is against me driven on and weighted down, always enslaved. So at this hour without delay pluck the vibrating strings; since Fate strikes down the strong man, everyone weep with me! I'm pretty sure that they are telling us Coach's fate (and story arc) in the game. Great editing there. |

ETA ~ I can't help but wonder if Stephen was trying to pull an 'Erik' with that one.

True, it doesn't matter now anyways. But if I had been Joe, thinking that I had the real immunity idol, and then not having it as a result of the tribes
merging and production not moving it over to the new camp with the rest of the tribes stuff, I would be PISSED.
And I like Erinn, but what the fuck? Was she really not able to figure out the immunity idol location from all the clues she had? I thought she was supposed to be this great puzzle wizard. And if she was lying to Joe about not knowing where it was, did she really never even once try to go look for it before the merge? |

Great eppy. LOVED all the shifting and re alligning the alliances...
TYSON is a sneaky bastid and I LOVE him! best confessiionals ever!! Stupid move to win, should have let his girl Friday (debbie) win. once Sierra fell he should have gone down. That's gonna bite him in the butt. Now he's got the most useless ugly necklace ever!! JOE's leg...OMG gross. Stupid not to ask for some medical help sooner, he's still be in the game. Looks like a huge abcess, and yes he may need surgury. Now he can hang with his girl Sydney so alls good for him. STEPHEN...the mastermind, but letting ALL the attention fall on to Coach. SO smart to come up with the split the vote, Flush the idol and still control the game. PLUS he doesn't fully trust either coach or Tyson. HE should be thinking about end game soon (when the time come to pick which alliance to betry)...who do you want next to you? I'd Take Coach over Brendon.... BUT a COACH rant at final TC could be pricelss!! TAJ...she's gonna get blindsidded I feel by Stephen & JT with the Brendon boot I fear. JT...observes alot, fiured out just how fractured Timbra is too many factions...Sirra and Brendon, Erinn the loner, Tyson & Debbie, Coach and Tyson. That's what is gonna set up a JALAPAO for the win.... The hate each other more than the other team. Coach wants Brendon out because way back the others stated that Brendon was the leader etc... WHAT NOT ME??? I AM THE CHOOSEN ONE!!! Did you know he invented the Samurai thing?? what a douch. SIERRA...did she speak? she gone as soon as Brendon is. |

Debbi is not the only one who we have not seen participating in any strategy sessions. Sierra and Erinn are AWOL as well which I think is odd because they
both had at least one episode where you thought you may see some of their moves later on because they at least had some screen time. You have to believe that
all three are thinking about the game and I would hope that we see some movement from them. If not, I can't see any of them making final three or two.

Actually JT and Stephen were the strategy kings of the game (despite what Coach said). Even with the "alliance" with Coach and Tyson secure, they
still discussed which would be better, staying with C/T or staying with Taj / Brenden / Sierra. (I have to believe that Stephen outed the CTA to JT during
this convo)
After Brenden gets wind of the plot, I think that it will be obvious to JT/Stephen that their chances for the end game are better with T/B/S. Tyson would be an immunity threat and neither Stephen nor JT could count on Tyson to pick one of them over Coach. Tyson will be the chosen boot and Coach will have a Dragon Slayer type melt-down... Which should be worth the price of admission... to say the least. I'm looking forward to it. |

That moves the target squarely onto his back because now he's a huge liability to win them all the time. He should have dropped down and let Debbie have it.That was an odd immunity challenge result. Tyson nor Debbie really needed it. Sierra maybe a little, so it was probably good for them to outlast her. I think what this tells us (again) is that they are both pretty good physically (pound for pound), and that they are both very competitive. Doesn't anyone on these tribes think of "hot compresses" when they get these types of puncture wounds?I really wonder what the medics tell them about wound care. Even if there is some arbitrary MB policy not to allow antibiotic cream, yeah, there are things you can do, even in primitive circumstances, to try to keep it clean. Compresses, flushing with copious quantities of water, etc - I would put all those skills under "survival" just like making a fire, building a shelter, finding food, etc. |

When I was a kid I would chew a Sassafrass leaf into a paste and put it on a cut. Sounds gross now days because of all the bacteria in your mouth, but crap
... if it was covered then the bugs wouldn't be eating at it. Every time I saw Joe's wound there was a damn bug in it. I saw one scene where Taj looked
like she was squeezing a pimple while she was talking, no she was keeping the damn bugs away!
BTW, the last time I went to Coach's Web site it was closed down. The last time it was open, he changed the music to "Gates of Istanbul" ... Shazam is GREAT! |

erickman wrote:If it is Steven and JT in the final 2, I think that Steve might have the edge culturally. Will a jury of (6 Timbira to 1 Jalapao) want to lose to the redneck from Alabama or the smart New Yorker? I like them both personally and would be happy for which either one won. My first thought of a final IC would be some "Hands on the Immunity Idol" endurance challenge. I could even see Stephen make a "take me to the final 2 and I'll get down" gesture. At this point, if it turns out to be a Jalapao final 3, that would be amazing. --------- I really think that Probst thought Coach would be popular. That whole "new coach" comment from Erinn seemed to be MB trying to redeem Coach. "I don't understand. I thought everyone would like this guy." |

lol Where are you from?
I'd think the only way culture would work to Stephen's advantage would be argument that he didn't come from an outdoorsy background, yet managed to last to the end. Which of course JT counters by pointing out that he's the one who taught Stephen the necessary skills to get that far. Debbie is from south Alabama, too, I wouldn't guess she has issues with folks from down her way. If other jury members really are voting based on who they'd be less embarassed to lose to, I'd think the country boy would be their choice: "Oh, well, of course JT was good out there, he's been doing those things all his life. No way I could compete with that..." |

birdlady wrote: You bring up an interesting question. As an over-educated blue-stater myself who admires shrewd scheming and plotting over strong essential survivor skills, I'd rather lose to the smart New Yorker Stephen than the strong Alabaman J.T. (thought I would be happy for either.) Would the "coach" from rural Susanville favor the "strong" rural JT or would the maestro side of him take over? Like most jurors, they will probably each reward the one who is most like them or punish the one that blackstabbed them the most. It all depends on blindsides. Unfortunately, since Debbie is an elder woman like Susie, who cannot be pigeon-holed into a "mother" role, the sexist editors won't ever let us see what she's actually thinking. |

Does anyone else think that there are more evacuations now?
If I were really cynical, I'd say that they evacuated Joe to save Brendan for plot purposes later. There have been other serious injuries before. But are they being stricter medically now? Did their insurance provider change? I almost had a Janu flashback, thinking they were hoping Janu would quit to give Wonder Woman, er, Stephanie, another three days. Should Joe have tried to pop that thing like a pimple and drain it of pus himself? Where is Margaret's nursing skills when you need them? |

My sentiments exactly! I'm THRILLED to see TDT put JT-1, Stephen-2 and Taj-3!It's funny. When we saw those early shots in Ep.1 and 2 of JT/Stephen bonding, I thought those were sort of throw away moments about the city mouse and country mouse becoming friends. It never occurred to me that we might have been witnessing the final 2. Damn, I wish I shaved those scenes on Tivo. |
