I am very, very happy to see Megan gone. She never should have been selected for the Wildcard, when people like Kristen, Felicia, Ann Marie and Kendall (among others) were passed over. And then, when she sucked in the Wildcard round too, she shouldn't have been picked for the finals. Altogether, she went zero for six in the competition. 6 F's, a perfect .000 batting average. Very, very few contestants can say that (by my scale, Sanjaya gets 4 Fs and 2 D's for his first six performances).

Having said that, I was of two minds about the nature of her exit. I took her seeming unconcern as probably being a realistic assessment of her chances to win (zero) and singing talent (also zero). But was there also an element of "I don't give a shit what you think, since I'm a star now" in it? Yeah, maybe. Nobody seems to have directly commented on her nutzoid facial expressions as they were announcing who was booted. It seemed to me that she had taken a few drinks (or something EVEN STRONGER) before the results show, to prepare herself. I will be interested in seeing what she says in her post-Idol interviews. And I was VERY happy about Simon's bitchface and refusal to play out any phony drama. He was sick of her, openly glad she was gone, and probably very angry with himself for ever seeing any potential in her voice. Good!

I do have two major complaints: 1) why was Allison in the bottom 3 instead of Matt? That sucks. 2) WTF did our esteemed and usually trustworthy commentator see fit to give Megan a 7 last night? 0.7 is closer to accurate, though still too high.
