This should be the blanket answer to any question from n00bs, especially one like this. However, since I have no authority to call anyone a n00b(Except ArtieeLange), I'll relent. Just this once.

The Hidden Immunity Idol does not make the show more interesting. It's a myth. In fact, most seasons with the idol have social dynamics which render it extraneous, or activly contributes to the negative opinion of the show. Consider each season:

Panama: The one HII season where it never really comes into play due to Terrys immunity wins. This is a good thing because it allowed the Casaya tribe(Best tribe ever <3333) to dominate, and it invited Cirie to experiment with alternative strategies, such as goat removal. If the idol were removed from this season, little would change, but the finale definatly would have been more exciting. Terry leaves on his own volition at the final 4, and Cirie makes the finals either way. If Danielle wins the last IC, Cirie curbstomps her, and the fans are happy. If Aras wasn't holding back and wins the last IC, Aras still wins, but against Cirie it would be a much more grueling and interesting FTC.

Cook Islands: This season is a failure on so many levels that the removal of the idol would only marginally improve things. If there was no idol, Yul must work a lot harder at maintaining loyalty. There is the potential that Cao Boi and Flika flips, but giving Yuls persuasive skills the benifit of the doubt, lets assume not. Jonathan/Candace, Becky/Yul and Sundra still hold a majority, and the mutiny still holds the same results. Actually, Jonathan still flips at the final 9 and Yul still wins! Don't believe me? Read any of the Cook Islanders post boot interviews and tell if Sundra or Ozzy would go with Adams f5 idea in lieu of an idol. Tell me if Candice wouldn't have still mutinied.

Fiji: The one exception. If there was no idol in Fiji, everything pre merge remains the same, but the post merge is radically different. Here Earl and Yau Man presumably must align with the Horsemen at the final 9 if they are to survive. If not, Yau Man is easily trounced at the final 6, and Cassandra wins the show. Or what if Earl and Yau Man and Earl did align with the Horsemen, pulling Dreamz(and by association, Cassandra) in, which leads to either further outcomes or the same exact one we had in the current reality. Either way, it's better than what we had, where Yau Man is falsely praised for being a mastermind.

China: This is the most obvious one. James leaves at the final 7 even if he didn't have any idols, and Jean Robert was hated enough to leave in the same position he did.

Micronesia: Defenders of the Idol don't want to hear this, but S Micronesia without any WOULD HAVE BEEN ALMOST IDENTICAL AS THE ONE WE HAD. Noone aligned with Ozzy because he had the idol, they aligned with him because of his leadership and survival skills, and would have left at the final 9 no matter what. Jason would have left at the final 8 due to frustration. Tell me where Natalie comes off as anything else but a follower. If Amanda never played an idol, she would be a welcome addition to the "Sixth Place Cuties Club"(Colleen; Kim P; Christa; Shii Ann,etc). I would have missed her hilariously awful FTC performace, and "Lividmanda" wouldn't be as ironic, but hey, we all make sacrifices. At the final 5, it is smarter for Alexis to go to the final 3 with Parvati and Natalie, and Erik is removed at the final 5 just for shits and giggles. At the final 4, Cirie goes. I would wager that Parvati makes final 2 in any combination, and still wins. A Parvati/Natalie final 2 would have been hysterical.

Gabon:The more things change, the more things stay the same. Bob may not have won Gabon without his fake idol trickery, but I'm not sure. Sugars postion as a goat remains the same, just without an idol. It doesn't matter, because she would have been dragged along no matter what.
