I think overconfidence is only N if there's a clear P opposition or underdog. Who would that be-- Coach? Tyson? JT? Joe? As far as I can tell, we're supposed to recognie their overconfience but definitely still be rooting for them.

The alliance is new and fresh, but tonight I felt it was forced a bit too much. Maybe the beginning of the episode was meant to shove the confidence in our faces while the end of the episode (with Taj's outburst) was meant to have that confidence busted a little.

I could buy that. Taj is getting far too much too soon... and I think in the next episode we'll see even more crumbling. Then, assuming a merge at ten, the story will revolve around whether the EA can pull it together.

Building characters and shifting the positions people are in. Many things get changes pre-merge that often get shifted back.

This is her story and it's nearing it's end. I've felt this for a while, but then tonight with all this "we make the merge and we are SET!" talk has completely convinced me.

He was talking about blindsiding Brendan, someone that we are supposed to like, but he wasn't malicious about it either. He just stated that it would be smart to blindside Brendan because he is untrustworthy due to the Exile trips he keeps having with Jalapao.

I have to watch again to get any details, but we continue to have a division between the originators of the alliance, Taj and Brendan, and their "picks", Stephen and Sierra. Stephen right away told us how he's looking out for Numero Uno. So much for the loyal geek. Sierra's edit didn't bother me for its confidence as much as the repeat that she "created" the alliance. Why does the edit repeat what everyone knows isn't true. Sierra's "What a great alliance I've created", combined with her previously repeated, "If it's my time to go, it's my time to go", has me bumping her down below Stephen at this point. Now, I'm fine with anyone calling me on my perception, because I don't have either quotes and I could be completely off. I only have my first impressions to go on. Either way, they still occupy my 1-2 spots.

Hard to explain exactly, but more as in, "I've created some cushion for myself in finally getting into a solid alliance" rather than "I've masterfully brought together the Exile Alliance."
