So for Whoopi Comfortable = dressing like shit?

I seem to remember that Barbara Walters commented that when seeing Hillary Clinton exit the plane on her trip to China that she looked like she had gained
weight. This was a couple of weeks ago. Seeing Whoopi in that duster dress made me laugh. Nothing wrong with the girl letting it all hang out. Hey! Can I get
hired on where she works at? I'd love to wear jeans and tennis shoes. Why for once can't she clean up and act like a lady? All of us women have had to
suffer through the bras, pantyhose and whatnots to make us look good. Why would it kill this this lady to do it just once for us?

Not all of us! I agree with Whoopie wear what make you feel comfortable. If people don't like it, too bad. This is 2009 we have choice, she made hers
and lives with it well. I think people are just jealous cause they can't go to work like us. I say get a new job if you don't want to dress up. Go
Whoopie!!

Whoopi dresses like shit considering what she does--hosting a national television talk show. She should be embarrassed. To dress the way she does day after day
is immature and shows a lack of class. It's one fucking hour. Put something decent on! Nice clothes do not have to be uncomfortable. That is a myth. No one
is jealous of another personal's slobbery.

I don't care as much as I was responding to the post before mine. It's ridiculous to assume people are jealous that Whoopi dresses like a slob. That
is certainly not the case as far as I am concerned. I think it shows a lack of respect to the viewing audience and/or to your co-workers to dress that way,
unless it is appropriate for the job.
No one was happier than I was when my office went casual in the mid-90s. To not have to wear a tie everyday was a wonderful thing, and it made sense. We did not deal with the public and rarely had guests. Still, we kept it business-casual, and what Whoopi wears on national television she would have been sent home for, easily. ETA: She obviously knows there's a time a place to dress up. While I did not care for her Oscar dress I appreciate that even she knew it was time to put a dress on and if she likes the one she wore, good for her! It's a shame she doesn't respect her fellow co-hosts or her audience at The View to do the same for them. Like I said earlier, to dress nice doesn't mean you have to dress in uncomfortable clothes.

I'm sure that in Whoopi's contract it stated that she could wear almost anything that she wanted to. The show is lucky to have her.

Perhaps her dress is a political statement.

It's not like Whoopi is sitting there dressed in lingerie or slutty attire. She just wears what is comfortable for her. Just because people are celebrities
doesn't mean they should all be forced to dress in expensive and pretty clothes. It's nice to see a celebrity embrace the normal look, instead of
trying to get all dolled up because they are famous.
Besides, wouldn't her attire connect more to the average audience? Not everyone watching at home is gonna dress like Liz, Barbara, Joy, or Sherri all the time, and it probably is nice to see someone dressed like a normal person on the show. I certainly enjoy the show more now that there's someone that doesn't seem to be "above" the audience and can connect better to me as the average person. |

OMG Joy's "Month In Review" was so funny. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but it's a must see.

I really don't mind what Whoopi wears but I can see why people would be offended. I know she doesn't care about fashion or what people think of her
but her not dressing up remotely is kind of insulting the viewer like she doesn't care enough about her fans to dress up and look respectable.

The clothes do not make the person. I am much more interested in what she has to say. Simon Cowl wears a T-shirt and pants that look the same every show and
no one says anything about that. I could care less what those people look like that is not why I watch the show. Now if I was watching a modeling show I
might give a damn. Just sayin.

^With Simon he makes his outfit a trademark. Whoopi's clothing is not a trademark of anything. All the other women dress nicely, but Whoopi doesn't
even bother. It's like she came dressed for the show and doesn't need wardrobe.

i think whoopi would look ridiculous in the clothes the rest of the ladies wear. she is an individual with her own sense of self and style regardless of
whether you like it or not.
