Perhaps the scotch is clouding my perspecitve, but WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!?
Just finished watching, and my initial take is that if Strabuck was glowing, along with the other skinjobs, yup, she's the "new" skinjob. Have there been references to this Daniel before? Boomer back on Galactica? FINALLY an 8 shows up with whom I can relate. |

Wow, I thought this was exactly the episode they needed. At least it was the perfect episode for me. They explained pretty much everything, including a lot of
the "this has happened before" stuff. Ellen's hubris about avoiding a repeat through better programming is so classically sci-fi, I loved it.
When will they ever learn! I do think Boomer is lying and working with Cavill to lead them to Galactica, the rebel Cylons and the final five. I think the whole
"suck the memories out" thing was a ruse. We haven't seen Cavill use that technology before. I hope Daniel was Dirk Benedict's Starbuck, even
though it was probably just a throwaway for those fans complaining that Boomer/Sharon was an 8 when there was only 7 of them.

So Cavil (John) has been orchestrating this for years. Since he obviously kept Ellen hidden from all the others except Sharon, he doesn't want the other
models realizing that he frakked with their minds by deleting all their memories of the Five that created them.
My question is what is his angle with Sharon?! Did he introduce her into the situation knowing that she would eventually try to help Ellen thereby leading him to Earth (where he hopes the fleet will be) or has he convinced her to be a part of his evil plan by getting Ellen to trust her while leading them to Earth (where he hopes the fleet will be)? |

I was sure I'd hate it after reading the comments, but I thought it was really good! As for the backstory -- I just shrugged and went with it. Honestly,
it's not more complicated than the magic time travelling island or the magic eclipse that grants super powers and mindboggling stupidity in certain men of
Indian decent. I just decided the origin was this: "Humans and cylons made each other and it's all coming to an end."

ok...I'm confused. If everyone on earth was a skinjob cylon, who nuked who on earth?
Did I miss something? Loving this episode---confusion and all! |

I definitely think the Daniel thing is significant. He was an artist. Doesn't Kara sometimes break into fits of artistry? And Ellen mentioned something
about "the swirl". idk. Anders said time slowed down for them because of their ship engines or something. I'm going to watch it again.

Who nuked Earth? I think someone said it was the centurions -- are these the same centurions as the toasters such as the one that helped Ellen out of the
resurrection bath. Another weird thing -- in the opening credits, weren't those the 70's centurions? Maybe they're setting things up such that
the old BSG is linked to this BSG?
Anyhow, the nuking question remains really hazy to me if anyone can clear it up. This of course leads to the gender swap of the Starbucks, meaning that Daniel was the orginal Starbuck, thus Kara is No. 8. I can't think of any way to 'splain how she found her own dead body rotting away on Earth. And good point on her being an artist. The "swirl" however was a little sumthin sumthin that Ellen did to Cavil on New Caprica. |

I got the impression that the earth centurions nuked earth. but maybe I misheard.
I did hear Anders discussing how all of the final five saw "angels" and Chief thought he had a chip in his head. innnnteresting. |

Daniel is Zak Adama. I'm putting money on it.

Daniel being Zak would be anticlimactic for me, honestly.

P'ha, the old 70's cylons they showed in the beginning were also shown in Razor, the mid-season movie with Kendra Shaw, I believe.

ok, so if the centurions nuked the skinjobs on Earth, were there ever any humans from Kobol who migrated to Earth or were all the colonists of Earth cylons. I
hoping someone here is less confused than me!

A lot of information was given out last night. I could very well have missed something that was said, but I don't remember them addressing the destruction
of earth except When Sam said that they were warned it would happen and that was why the 5 were working on rediscovering the lost resurrection
process/technology.

I've been talking about this episode for the last 40 minutes and I am still confused. For an episode with tons of exposition, it sure as hell made things
make less sense in a lot of ways.

What I gathered is the Centurians nuked earth for whatever reason. They saw the final 5 as creators so they gave them a heads up to be ready for it, thus they
worked on the resurrection to the orbital space station or ship.
What I am trying to understand is how they got tot he point of being part of humanity w/o knowing. Did John kill them all then when they were resurrecting fiddle with them? Also if all the Ellen things went down 18 months ago with John, did she activate the other 4 en-route to galactica? What triggered them? |

If I didn't know about the premise behind Caprica... last night's episode would have made a lot more sense. Taking the timeline set last night with
what we know about the pilot and my brain explodes.
Of course, it all can all be weakly explained by "All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again." |

as I understood it, John had the first five killed, and fucked with their memory tanks upon resurrection. but who the frak knows.
