It was kinda dull. I expect more from a premiere, I guess.

Not the best, but promising. At least they followed my advice and stopped the schoolyard pick. No power to the tards like last season.
They should`ve made it 2h tho, haha. And I like almost the whole cast, unlike last year (mainly because they let the tards rule so early by giving them the schoolyard-pick-power). I`ll rate it 7.5/10 |

How do y'all even remember Gabon's premier? It was so long ago.

The trek was insanely dull compared to Guatemala's (Brooke and Jim leading Nakum then being the first two booted
There's no-one who makes me want to mute the TV like Ken did throughout the last premiere though, so it's a step up. |

Yeah, we didn't hear from Sydney, Debbie, or Candace. And I don't really think we got anything substantial from Joe, Stephen, Taj, Jerry, or Brendan.
The episode was really the Sandy and Sierra show featuring Carolina.

Everything was awesome. From Sandy's frantic search for the idol and Carolina's blindside, it was damn entertaining.

I like it. I thought they showed lots of personalities and conflicts already and heck, 1st TC, blindsided.

well, i liked it, i didn't loved it. Big part of it is because of the challenge that was kinda dull, but turned out cool. It was fun see timbira in the
lead, then jalapao, then timbira again.
But i wish they would've showed people struggling at the 4 hours walk. |

survivorjordancontestant wrote: It's somewhat unfair to compare Amazon/Pearl Islands premieres to Tocantin's as they were both 90 minutes long. Of the hour long premieres, I preferred Australia, Africa, Marquesas, Exile Island, China over Tocantins. Guatemala's is hard to rate because it was very much about the 11 mile hike and the returning players |

It was a good premiere, definitely not the best but certainly not the worst and much better than Gabon's opener.

It was the best premiere. The truck when castaways went down to Tocantins, it reminds me of Africa premiere seven years ago.

Pretty good opener.

I wouldn't say it was the best, but it was decent, and I think they did a fairly decent job introducing personalities. I felt like there were people I
started to already get invested in and will be rooting for.

A Dying Clown wrote:Besides the Guatemala challenge, when was the last time we got to see them actually interacting as tribes for a substantial time on the hike/boat ride to camp? Amazon? That's why I thought the episode was so great. As soon as the producers get rid of talk about the idol, Survivor may be back to its roots. |

Clearly the decision at TC was going to come down to which player they could stand less. We had our classic "which one will leave" set-up. I just thought the editing was leaning toward Sandy going, so I liked being wrong on that front. Not a completely shocking vote, and certainly not random, but a little bit surprising, which is fun. |
