Challenges are decided by the producers. Relationships are based on luck as well as skill. Twists are similar, because it changes the current situation. What it does is change the current advantages and disadvantages, and that is what "gives one side an advantage". From the start of the game though somebody has an advantage and others don't, and that isn't decided all by ability
I see what you're saying, but I mean, there's an element of luck to doing well in business, but that does not make it equivalent to winning the lottery.
