I can understand why Chargers' fans hate Eli for dissing their team, but like Jit said, they got a great deal (if memory serves, they got Philip Rivers,
Shawn Merriman and Nate Kaeding for Eli). But if I were a Chargers' fan, I'd rather have Drew Brees than Philip Rivers. Jes sayin'.
I think a lot of the Eli hate is (1) he plays in NY and everyone hates New Yorkers and (2) the media swoons over him because his name is Manning. But neither of those things are his fault, and everything I've ever read about Eli is that he's a really nice and funny guy. Philip Rivers, on the other hand, is a mouthy douchebag. He needs to shut the fuck up and just play ball. |
