I liked it a lot! Actually, I thought it was better than ep 1, which says something! I thought that Kota was going to win the IC for sure ... it seemed like you were setting it up for a Fang TC.

Thank you! I guess I'm also glad to hear it was somewhat surprising that Kota lost again. At least that part wasn't predictable. That's why I've been trying to show both tribes as equally as I can.

-Interesting, Dan wants him and Charlie to make an alliance with Ace... but Charlie doesn't really like that idea.

Both Dan and Charlie a little bit wary of Ace, but Charlie definitely is more so than Dan. But it was Dan's uneasiness about Ace that led him to want to make the alliance because he's trying to make a friend out of an enemy so that Ace won't target him.

-Err... that was probably very stupid of Fang to sit out Gillian at the reward challenge instead of the immunity challenge.

I know, and I debated this back and forth too, but this was the only way I could have that story line about her not participating in the Reward.

-Ken seems a bit like an arrogant gamer in his confessional about the exile choice, but mostly a gamer.

This is definitely the impression that you're supposed to get.

-Marcus/Sugar/Jacquie/Bob doesn't sound like that great of an alliance, even with Matty. Once Susie is gone they'd be voting out someone strong.

-Susie is the only one who really has build up for leaving so far on Kota, so I guess that there'll be more drama on their tribe now that the challenge is over.

-About to read TC, Susie is probably a goner, there's just not enough build up for Matty going home.

Hmm, I was a little surprised to read this because I knew that the Susie boot would be obvious, but I thought there was quite a bit of doubt built up at the end with the possibility of the 4-way alliance voting out Matty to be safe, Crystal possibly getting votes, Susie maybe finding the hidden Immunity Idol or playing the bone as an idol, etc. I thought there were a few other possibilities of things that could happen, but I guess not.

-Wow Sugar is dumb, she just named her whole alliance to Jeff in her list of people who she's close to.

Yes, and this is an important catch (notice all the reaction shots). It will definitely come up in Episode 3!

I was surprised by the lack of 'drama' in who would go home. Often when something seems obvious I wonder at least a little bit "this just seems obvious to hide a big surprise", but this time there just didn't seem to be any build up for anyone else going home.

Again, I knew Susie would be the "obvious target" but I really thought there were enough possibilities of other things that could have happened. Guess that fell short at the end, but I hope it wasn't as bad as the Chet TC last season.

Much as I'd hate to say it, this was definitely a below average episode, I had a hard time thinking of a favorite scene, usually one or two pop up in my head in an instant when filling out that question. I think the episode may have suffered some from you changing the vote like that.

That's okay. I'm sorry that you thought it was below average. I really thought it was an improvement over most of my Episode 2s, but I guess the pattern continues then. That usually means that Episode 3 is very good though (one of the highest-rated of the season).

I agree that it would have made it more dramatic at the end if I had left the tie in. I didn't ever *change* the vote - I just cut out the first part with the 3-3 vote, and showed only the 6 votes for Susie from the re-vote, and the 2 votes for Matty that were from the initial vote (because Susie and Crystal wouldn't have voted in the re-vote). I probably should have left this and just edited down some other parts of the episode.

I've got to say though, Marcus's alliance is being way too arrogant and stupid if they thought that they could seriously pull off a 3-3-2 tie vote without Matty or GC being aware of the plan to tie it up.

Well, Matty is not the brightest anyway and I definitely don't think he knew. He approached Marcus trying to stay, and Matty told him he didn't have anything to worry about because Susie was going. Matty was always going to vote for Susie anyway, so it's not like they tricked him or anything. With G.C., they did have to convince him to vote for Susie, but he definitely viewed her as the weakest regardless and he wanted to keep the tribe strong. The thing now is that Marcus' group does have a 4-3 advantage in the tribe now, so even if Crystal, GC, and Matty try to band together, they're the minority and they can't do anything.

That's similar to how in the real show Marcus's group voted out Dan in a 4-3 vote, and then gee surprise surprise Susie flipped on their alliance, I wonder why, it couldn't have anything to do with you nearly voting her out earlier now could it?

At first I didn't understand this comment. I thought when you said "you" you were referring to me and I was trying to figure out how it related to me nearly voting Susie out in Episode 1 or something, but I understand it now, and you're exactly right. I guess for this fanfic it depends on what happens in a switch scenario, because as I said Marcus' group pretty much holds the majority on Kota right now.

For some reason I had a feeling it was going to be a 7/10 from you, (I expected it to be lower than the premiere), but I was a bit surprised on 6. That's okay though. I know you're just waiting for some of the better post-merge episodes! I hope that you like Episode 3 better then. :)

Excellent job on your Edgic ratings, as always. And thanks for those great thoughts on the Contenders once again. I like that you're looking at some other types of winner possibilities (particularly for the female edits), rather than eliminating them. It's funny because when planning it out, I never really thought of the people's edits by gender or making sure there's some contenders for both, and now I realize that a lot of the female edits have been pretty bad.

-Bob (This episode he came off to me feeling like just an extra vote for some reason, not a big strategist obviously)

True, but he was by far from a big strategist in the real show, especially at this point in the season.

-GC (I think his chances dipped after what stuff got cut out this episode)

Not sure if it will help or not, but the vote against Susie will be somewhat touched upon in Episode 3 since it was kindof brushed off in this episode.

I noticed similarities between the actual television season and your fan fictions. Michelle and Kelly are both very similar in age, as were Susie and Gillian (both oldest women on their tribe). Also, as Kota won the first 3 challenges in a row on the TV season, Fang did the same in your season here. I really like how you don't really sway from the television season and keep a sense of familiarity. I cannot wait for the next episode to come out!

Yes, I noticed this too. I find that there are always some similarities between my stories and the real seasons, and often times there's a lot of "opposites" too (as you pointed out with the Fang/Kota winning challenges). But believe it or not, it was not planned that way at all. When I picked Kelly as the first boot, I had no idea Michelle was the first boot of the real season and the same goes for Susie. I found it interesting though when I saw the real season and picked up on the similarity.

So yes, you're right that I do try to stick to the format of the show and the characters, etc. etc., but any similarities in the outcomes of the seasons are just coincidental. (Ie. like in Micronesia last season, the same tribe lost every challenge after the switch, etc.)

Anyways, I'm glad you enjoy the fanfics and that you are excited for Episode 3. Hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the story, and have a great night! :)

I'll just say I'm somewhat sad to see Susie go. She was one of my favorites in the actual Gabon pre-season. Oh well, I'll get over it sooner or later.
