I liked it! Definitely a good balance between both tribes. Great conflict between Kelly/Crystal.

Thanks. Glad to hear you thought there was a mix of both tribes and that you liked the conflict. Crystal and Kelly were definitely both fun to write for. Ideally someone like Jacquie (sorry to pick on her) would be first to go, but that probably wouldn't be realistic.

I've been a lurker at sucks for a while, but enjoyed your work enough that I thought I'd take the effort to register and say thanks. When I first found out about Gabon fanfic, my first thought was: "Oh, that sounds kinda lame." But upon reading the first episode my assessment has changed completely. Initially I was expecting cartoonishness and general rehashed characterizations, but I've really enjoyed the sheer attention to detail that has gone into this.

Hi calgary, and welcome to Sucks. I appreciate you taking the time to register so that you could leave me some thoughts, and I'm glad to hear that your initial expectations for the fanfic were changed when you read it. It's always great to hear from new readers, and I'm happy that you enjoyed the episode and the detail.

My only complaint - tiny and kinda picky - is that some parts are a little hard to read due to the compact nature of it all.
There's not alot of line breaks. But that's a minor point.

I assume you read it on the word document. I always post the episodes in the thread as well (ie. see Pg. 108), and the Yuku editor breaks up the text into more chunks that are easier to read. So each time a new person speaks or there's a new confessional, it leaves a small break in between. It might be easier for you to read it on there, and it's still color-coded the same. I hope that helps.

A few things I wanted to comment about...

Someone gets voted off

SFC, I just found this too funny about the episode two predictions. XD

I think I forgot to mention the funny dialogue between Crystal and Kelly. It was perfect.

If you would like for me to, I wouldn't mind making a more detailed case for some of the close calls. For example, I feel strongly that Randy was a "N" this episode. Please don't ask me to defend Kelly or Sugar though, because I'm having second thoughts after reading some of the other poster's explainations. XD

I know you cannot comment on them, but I'm glad you enjoyed my winner's thoughts. It's my favorite part of the post to type and think about. I feel very strongly that Ken will be in the final episode.

Ideally someone like Jacquie (sorry to pick on her) would be first to go, but that probably wouldn't be realistic.

Well at least I know how your brain works. XD

And in the upcoming episodes, please include more of Marcus/Jacquie/Paloma/Dan(good job on Dan). As you know, those are my four favorite players in Gabon pre-show! ;)

Hello tacobellcanon. Thank you very much for your comments on the premiere. I am glad to have you reading this season! I really enjoyed reading your post and you brought up some great points. :)

I thought it was a rather impressive start. I did like that the tribes were preselected rather than wasting time on a pick-em, and I think you did a very good job of playing up the conflict between Crystal and Kelly. I think you did a great job of introducing most of the players and avoided overloading us with information. The introductory confessionals were a nice touch even if they had no bearing on the episode (such as Kenny's).

Thanks. Glad you were in favor of the pre-selected tribes. I just think that pick'ems, in general, are unnecessary, and they're WAY overused now. Gabon had at least 3 of them. No need. Anyway, thanks for the comment about the conflict between Crystal/Kelly. I'm always cautious in writing conflict about not making it seem too contrived or unrealistic, because there is always a fine line, and I try not to cross it. Finally, I'm glad you thought we got a sense of most of the characters, and those introductory confessionals will definitely have some importance later on.

I by far enjoyed watching Fang camp life than Kota. Too much dissent on Kota already, too early in the game. I believe that the tribe that seems to be getting along best/having the most fun or activity in the early game tends to be the more popular tribe to the general public (on the real show).

Very interesting. Quite a few people have pointed out that they liked the development on Fang. I guess this is a good thing, since they didn't even go to TC. I think you're right that Fang would be the more popular tribe by people on the real show. In my mind, they are like the Drake, Koror, Rotu, etc. right now - the tribe that does well in challenges and seems to get along well, but there is more going on under the surface with them too.

8 - solid for a premiere. First episodes are difficult.

Ace - CPN4 - negative foil to Dan's positive storyline

Definitely, and I also felt that Randy served this purpose a bit too, in contrasting Dan's optimism about the fire with Randy telling him it would never work.

Crystal - CP5 - can't honestly give her a positive rating, too much negativity directed toward Kelly, almost a M to me.

Yes, this is why I feel she should be CPM.

That's a very good assessment of her edit and her motivations too. I wonder if Mixed is the best way to go though because it accounts for a little bit of the negative and positive moments. My intended rating was CPM5, but I'm obviously open to everyone else's thoughts.

Gillian - UTR1 (Gillian actually had tone, but in small doses. Her fire scene was annoying, but she provided some support. Very in depth for a 1 visibility)
Jacquie - UTR1 (Not INV, but close)
I agree with what you said about Gillian. That's why I'm inclined to go with INV1 for Jacquie and Paloma because I don't feel that they can compare with Gillian, and Gillian is UTR1.

Matty - MORN4 (He complained about Susie on the hike. He complains about Susie after the challenge. He has terrible SPV and is linked to Kelly. A weak N, but an N)
Thanks for bringing this one up. I'm going to have to look into it because I had him as neutral, and a few people have put possible Ps down, so I'll go back and check.

Randy - CPM4 (The Randy we love. He's positive, he's negative. He's scheming, hes narrating, hes complaining.)

After reading through more posts, I think that a MOR2 would be perfect for Charlie, as I debated UTR/CP.

Also, I can see why Crystal would be considered Mixed, but as I thought during the show, a lot of Crystal's outbursts and negativty are just Crystal being Crystal, and are too interesting not to include. I'm not leaning too strongly toward a P though, as I can see where a CPM rating would come from.

Also after seeing the number of INVs for Jacquie and Paloma, I feel they most likely are INV. An UTR1 start would probably put them out of contention for winning anyways, and as you pointed out, Gillian was much more complex than they were and she was definetly UTR1, so I think they might actually be INV.

I'm still going to stick with a negative Matty. I liked him during the show, but I found him annoying during the show. Some of the things were just personal opinion (Ex: Asking Kelly is an alliance is a good thing. Also he's constantly complaing. I think he's an N)

I still see Randy as Mixed because the negativity is just who he is as a character. Either way though, N, no tone, or M all could fit.

Sure, I'm open to any additional thoughts from anyone. There are a few right now that look like they will be "Close Calls."

1) Bob has 7 UTRs and 6 MORs.

2) Charlie has 5 MORs, 4 UTRs, and 4 CPs.

3) Jacquie has 7 UTR1s and 6 INV1s.

4) Marcus has 7 MORs and 6 UTRs.

5) Matty has 6 Ns, 2 possible Ps, 1 possible Mixed, and 5 (8) Neutrals.

6) Randy has 5 Ns, 4 Mixeds, and 4 Neutrals.

7) Susie has 6 OTTs, 4 CPs, and 3 MORs. She has 7 Mixeds, 1 P, and 5 Neutrals.

Everything else looks like there is a majority as of right now, but I know that with other people's ratings, any of them could change.

But if you want to weigh in on any of these, I will definitely take it into consideration. After the poor showing by Edgic for real Gabon, it would be nice to pull off a victory here and get ratings as accurate as possible.

And in the upcoming episodes, please include more of Marcus/Jacquie/Paloma/Dan(good job on Dan). As you know, those are my four favorite players in Gabon pre-show! ;)

Okay, good. That's the rating that I was intending for him. I always have my own projected ratings, and I then I use the consensus of submitted ratings against my intended ones to come up with the final.

That's fair. I mean, I don't think Crystal was being purposely nasty. She was protecting someone that she made an alliance with, and even pushing Kelly's hands out of the way during the challenge can be perceived as trying to help her tribe win.

(A) What did you think of this episode? Please be as detailed as you can, wherever possible.
Great opening! I could only imagine how hard opening episodes are to write (having to introduce characters and the survival element while also setting up storylines and showing strategy and the reasoning behind the first boot) but you seemed to get a little bit of everything in there. I'd definitely call it the best first episode since Fiji. Nice to see you introduce some characters in the same way (Bob, Ace, Randy, Crystal, Corrine) and some in different ways (Dan, Michelle, Marcus). My only real complaint is that since you had to put so much into the episode, unfortunately we couldn't see some of the other characters. Like I know I would've loved to see a confessional from Gillian about what it's like to live in Africa, but I'm sure that would be saved to another episode. I predict that half the people who got 0 confessionals will get at least to the merge and will be further fleshed out, while the other half will have their exposure in their boot episode and will leave. Still though, great episode.

(B) What was your overall favorite part of the episode?
I liked all of the Fang camp scenes because it definitely introduced a lot of characters and storylines (Corrine is bitchy, Randy is critical, Dan vs. Ace, Michelle getting lost, etc.)

Great opener to what I'm sure will be an awesome season. I am just consistently in awe of how you can make these characters, just idk, fit. They're always relatively close to how they seem on the show, yet never repetitive. It's a true gift, IMO.

As YemaGrl1988 had pointed out, I found this episode very funny. The "immunity council" reminded me of Survivor Borneo when Stacey said something similar to that. Don't know if that was an intentional reference, but I found that funny and pretty true to Kelly's character.

I'm also liking the Dan/Ace rivalry thing you're developing. I could definitely see their jockeying for the power position happening on the real show too. Although with Dan's line about not wanting to be the leader, per se, I could see Ace stepping up. Which brings up another point about Charlie's resistance to Ace's "we have fire" lie. If Charlie is already resisting Ace's authority, that could lead to a further struggle for power and control.

The Kelly/Crystal argument at tribal council. I lol'ed at the "steroid" line

Thoughts during the episode
-I notice it's labeled 'undisclosed title', yet if you hover your mouse over the word document you can clearly see the title name in the tool tip box.
-Randy's starting to give me a kind of Willard vibe already from his arrogant confessionals. By Willard vibe I mean him being a winner similar to how you had planned Willard would win Palau.
-If Michelle can't read the map then why won't Randy or someone take it from her?
-There's definitely a lot of arrogance on Fang, especially in Randy and Ace.
-Kota doesn't seem like the smartest tribe right now, I mean making a tribe moto and fire right away?
-Fang definitely seems to have more strong personalities already.
-No surprise that Ace is willing to lie about having fire.
-Wow, I'm a bit surprised that Fang won that first challenge, but I guess the only alliance build up so far was on Kota.
-Err, did you realize you had Kelly saying "I can't believe we have to go to Immunity Council. "
-Reasons for booting Kelly were sure highlighted at the Immunity challenge
-So it's Crystal/Susie vs Matty/Kelly, I think Crystal/Susie will win this battle, early on in this episode Susie gave me the feeling of being a decoy early boot, and she still does now.
-Now this is really stupid, Matty and Kelly decide they want to switch the vote to Crystal? You don't vote out a big threat this early.
-I still say that Kelly is gone going into tribal council.
-LOL, Kelly accuses Crystal of using steroids, great exchange between them.

I was sure surprised at Fang not going to TC, they seemed to have all the dynamics waiting for a power struggle like you mentioned there would be in the first episode. I was ready to give this episode a 7/10 instead of an 8/10 until I read tribal council.

-Michelle (Maybe she wins in a way similar to Stacy, but this didn't seem like the best start for her, still she could improve, and Stacy's edit looked horrible early on)

Also, thanks for updating the Wiki site for Kelly going (you did that very fast!). I put the Episode 1 title on there now too and I'll do the rest of the summary once the recap goes up next week.

I could only imagine how hard opening episodes are to write (having to introduce characters and the survival element while also setting up storylines and showing strategy and the reasoning behind the first boot) but you seemed to get a little bit of everything in there. I'd definitely call it the best first episode since Fiji.

Thank you. The premieres are always fun to write, but yes, they're always quite difficult. Surprisingly not as difficult as Episode 2 and the episode before the finale - usually. But aside from that premieres, switches, merges, etc. are all among the most difficult. Any episode that has something unusual coming on. I'm glad you thought there was a good mix of everything though, and I appreciate the comment about it being the best premiere since Fiji (I always liked that one too, I just haven't look at those old premieres in a long time).

Nice to see you introduce some characters in the same way (Bob, Ace, Randy, Crystal, Corrine) and some in different ways (Dan, Michelle, Marcus). My only real complaint is that since you had to put so much into the episode, unfortunately we couldn't see some of the other characters. Like I know I would've loved to see a confessional from Gillian about what it's like to live in Africa, but I'm sure that would be saved to another episode.

There are a few characters that come to mind that will be similar to what they were like in the show, and then there's another few that I think of as being completely different, so there will be a good balance. Sometimes I'm right on what they'll be like, and sometimes I'm wrong - sometimes it's better to be wrong though because it keeps things more interesting. As for the comment about Gillian, I am definitely going to tell her Africa-related story soon enough.

I predict that half the people who got 0 confessionals will get at least to the merge and will be further fleshed out, while the other half will have their exposure in their boot episode and will leave. Still though, great episode.

Very interesting thought there. Having 0 confessionals doesn't mean they're unimportant. Like Marcus for an example, he didn't have a confessional but he wasn't really "ignored" or "invisible" by any means.

I liked all of the Fang camp scenes because it definitely introduced a lot of characters and storylines (Corrine is bitchy, Randy is critical, Dan vs. Ace, Michelle getting lost, etc.)

Great opener to what I'm sure will be an awesome season. I am just consistently in awe of how you can make these characters, just idk, fit. They're always relatively close to how they seem on the show, yet never repetitive. It's a true gift, IMO.

Thank you. I really appreciate the comment about the characters. I always strive to keep them true to their personalities and make them realistic, and if I can't hear them saying something or picture them doing something, then it doesn't go into the episode. But I do like that it's basically the same characters being thrown into the game again and a completely different set of outcomes happens, almost like an "alternate reality." They're going to act similar to how we know them as characters, but yet the things that happen won't be the same. I think that's what you're getting at.

As YemaGrl1988 had pointed out, I found this episode very funny. The "immunity council" reminded me of Survivor Borneo when Stacey said something similar to that. Don't know if that was an intentional reference, but I found that funny and pretty true to Kelly's character.

Yeah, I wasn't 100% positive, but I was pretty sure that someone said Immunity Council in the first season. It wasn't put in to be a reference to that; it just seemed to me like something that Kelly would say, even if someone had already said it before.

I'm also liking the Dan/Ace rivalry thing you're developing. I could definitely see their jockeying for the power position happening on the real show too. Although with Dan's line about not wanting to be the leader, per se, I could see Ace stepping up. Which brings up another point about Charlie's resistance to Ace's "we have fire" lie. If Charlie is already resisting Ace's authority, that could lead to a further struggle for power and control.

Interesting. All three of these are going to be key players on Fang in one way or another.

I LOVE Crystal. I loved her on the real show and I love her in the current show. God DAMN that girl is visible. She's like Randy from the final 8 episode by comparison to the rest of her tribe. I love that she's actually somewhat of a physical threat this time around, even though he ineptitude was one of the best running storylines of the real Gabon. I think she definitely has what it takes to get far in the game, but not to win, if only because her personality is just that of someone who gets cut short, like ultra-visible Eliza from last season. Or Crystal could be getting set up as the first merge boot. I don't know.

Kelly was funny too. I mean, as annoying as it can be, watching a dumb blonde get poked fun at it hilarious. The title quote is so ironic, and I loved some of the lines she gave us like "immunity council", "she's on steroids", "she doesn't like me because I'm more attractive than her." I mean, the audience is meant to hate her, but I think she's hilarious and I'm sad to see her go, especially ahead of her boring ass partner, Matty.

Speaking of Matty, I absolutely hate the guy. I hated him when I first saw him on the CBS bio page. I hated him early on (until he joined up with Randy for ONE episode). I just hate him as a character, and I liked the way you captured his whininess in print. He's such an annoying douchetwat.

Susie peeing...not since Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien has a 47-year-old woman been shown peeing on national television. Susie's funny and I like her as a character. She's very unique and unconcerned with what other people think about her. That's what I thought she'd be like on the show before she got absolutely thrown under the bus by the editors. Her relationship with Crystal is cute, but something tells me that one of them is going to be targetted sooner rather than later after what happened with splitting up the Kelly/Matty alliance.

As for everyone else on Kota...who cares? I mean, maybe it's because they're just naturally boring personalities, but this tribe seemed just so much less developed than Fang, despite going to tribal council.

Speaking of Fang, I love how much of a clusterfuck they are, like in the real show, but unlike the real show, they can actually win challenges. I knew before the season that this would be the better tribe. I mean, they've just got the more interesting (albiet negative personalities).

Ace is a villain with a plan and I love that he tried to de-boost Kota's morale with his lie about them having fire. I also liked that he thought meditation could get him fire. Cao Boi he isn't.

Corinne is still bitchy and it figures that she'd click up with Michelle, who is playing the rarely seen dumb brunette card. If only Michelle and Kelly had met up, we could've have Jenna/Heidi 2.0. I thought the fact that Michelle couldn't read the map was just absolutely hilarious, especially since several other tribe members made fun of her afterward.

Randy is amazing in print form. He's just a curmudgeon, he's cocky, he's arrogant, and I absolutely love him. I love how he doesn't really have a filter on anything he says and I love the fact that he was absolutely ripping some of his tribemates to shreds in his confessionals.

Dan got a lot of screentime and that surprised me because I wouldn't naturally assume he was a character interesting enough to merit that. I think he's the sweetheart of the tribe and I love how he's trying not to step up as the leader, but he seems to realize that if the tribe needs him in that role, he needs to take on the job. I also love the suit alliance between him and Charlie. Those guys are going to be inseperable because they're both cute, they're both lawyers, they're both around 30 years old, and Dan has the potential to be gay, so we might even have a real guy/guy showmance this season.

The other three were all under the radar, but still, they were memorable. Paloma for having Corinne repeat her name, Gillian for this: Gillian: That wood really hurts the ol' butt, doesn't it?!

HahaHA, multiple entendre. And Ken is unique in that despite having a low visibility premiere, I still consider him a top choice for the edgic winner. I mean, he was the last one mentioned during Jeff's intro, and then he got one of the four opening confessionals where he specifically stated he'd go under-the-radar and people would forget about him, which was exactly how the episode went along. After an obvious winner like Tracy, this could be a way of hiding the winner from us in a Tina-esque manner. Plus, I still think a scrawny Survivor nerd would be the most unique possible winner to come from this season, especially since Todd didn't win China in this alternate universe.

Yeah, I always put the titles in there. I didn't think anyone would notice it, but I guess I'll start leaving them as undisclosed from now on. Hopefully it didn't spoil anything this time.

-Randy's starting to give me a kind of Willard vibe already from his arrogant confessionals. By Willard vibe I mean him being a winner similar to how you had planned Willard would win Palau.

I never really thought about it too much, but I think you're right that that is how I envisioned my Willard character to be. Very interesting thought, for sure.

-If Michelle can't read the map then why won't Randy or someone take it from her?

Maybe they did after that one incident, but that part wouldn't need to be shown.

Well, they didn't really have much to do with shelter because they already had those huts there. So they didn't really have much else to do other than fire, except maybe scout out some areas for food.

Yes, this was intentional to make Kelly look dumb again. I do realize a similar thing was said in Borneo though.

I was sure surprised at Fang not going to TC, they seemed to have all the dynamics waiting for a power struggle like you mentioned there would be in the first episode. I was ready to give this episode a 7/10 instead of an 8/10 until I read tribal council.

The power struggle was supposed to be the Crystal/Susie vs. Kelly/Matty thing, but I similar situation could easily come up on Fang. I'm glad that the Tribal Council pushed the episode up a little bit. I'm sure that there will be better to come later on in the season. 8 is a pretty good start.

Thanks for your Ep2 predictions and for filling out the Popularity Poll. I'm glad to see that you gave 9s to some of the stronger characters, and that no one got below a 3/4.

Finally, thank you very much for all of your Edgic thoughts. Your ratings are great, as always, but it's your contenders lists that are the especially interesting for me to see.

Yes, she really was a 3. I thought she was one of the more visible Fang members too - she had 3 confessionals as well.

Unless we see an "Bob"-type winner, it looks like you've got a pretty good list of losers going there. I could see a few of them recovering but it would have to be very quick. Ie. if Crystal gets a major cooldown in Episode 2, she could be okay, or if Kenny gets a more significant episode next time, he might look better since he had a confessional at the start, etc.

Edgic winner possibilities
-Charlie (He got just 2 confessionals, yet he came off as a positive and likeable guy already to me. I've got a feeling that he may be an important part of the story for some reason)

As you said, it's interesting that this was the only one that stood out to you. You're certainly not alone in that though - I've been tallying people's winner picks this time, and Charlie has had 8 people guess him so far (the second most next to Dan).

Something highly speculative, but this is something funny that I found:

The order for the opening introduction is Jacquie, Susie, Gillian, Charlie, Crystal, Kelly, Bob, Randy, Michelle, Corinne, Matty, GC, Paloma, Dan, Sugar, Marcus, Ace, and Ken.

The China intro in the actual show went Amanda, Denise, Leslie, Todd, Ashley, Jamie, Chicken, Jean-Robert, Sherea, Erik, James, Peih-Gee, Courtney, Aaron, Dave, and Frosti.

Charlie and Todd are both fourth, and both have "gay" as a description for them. For Todd this made some sense, since most people don't register "gay mormon" very well, so pointing it out probably wasn't a bad idea, but for Charlie it seems a little unnecessary, especially given how you handled Brad in CI (his sexual orientation only came up when he was talking about Adam in one confessional). Perhaps Charlie will be a Todd-esque type winner? When he complained about Ace's lying, it wasn't because he was ethically opposed to it or anything, he just thought that it put Ace in an untrustworthy position with the tribe, given that they know how readily he will lie, but that doesn't mean that Charlie won't be doing his fair share of lying.

Or I could seriously be overanalyzing this and it is just a coincidence.

Thanks. I'm glad you LOVE Crystal because I knew she would be a great character. I agree that her ineptitude in challenges was funny to watch in the real show, but I definitely didn't know to expect that before the show, so I did think that she would be a physical threat and you'll probably see that reflected in this story.

Interesting comparison to Eliza. Someone mentioned that she would be like my Cirie/Jonathan/Eliza, etc. character. It might have been you that said that; I can't remember, but it was a good point from whoever posted it (sorry I forget).

I definitely get what you mean here, and while I agree that it would have been great to see Matty go first because he's way more boring, you have to admit that it would have been a lot less hilarious if Kelly *didn't* go. So I think she was a good choice as the first boot.

I'm pretty indifferent to him now, but when I first saw the CBS bios and watched the videos, he was by far the one I disliked the most. I found him to be extremely annoying, and that's what I had to go on when I was figuring out his character. However, I just KNEW that he would get the kind of edit he got on the show since he was one of Jeff's favorites.

The order for the opening introduction is Jacquie, Susie, Gillian, Charlie, Crystal, Kelly, Bob, Randy, Michelle, Corinne, Matty, GC, Paloma, Dan, Sugar, Marcus, Ace, and Ken.

The China intro in the actual show went Amanda, Denise, Leslie, Todd, Ashley, Jamie, Chicken, Jean-Robert, Sherea, Erik, James, Peih-Gee, Courtney, Aaron, Dave, and Frosti.

Ha! Very clever of you to notice this. I'll explain what I did:

Usually whenever there's an "order" for anything (such as the Opening Credits, or whatever the case may be) I determine it randomly so that there's no patterns in it, or even subconscious things like I might always put the winner in a certain place without knowing. So I was going to determine the order to introduce them randomly, and then I thought that I should just use the order that they did in China and match up similar characters/types/demographics to the order they were in. Then I just had to slot in 2 extra people anywhere since Gabon has 18 contestants and China only had 2.

So Jacquie = Amanda (younger "boring"? girl), Gillian = Denise (oldest woman), Susie = Leslie (second oldest woman), Charlie = Todd (as you pointed out), Crystal = Ashley (strong, athletic young woman), Kelly = Jaime (young "dumb"? blonde), Bob = Chicken (oldest guy), Randy = Jean-Robert (negative guy, strategic player?), Corinne/Michelle = Sherea (women who will speak their mind), Matty = Erik (maybe a bit of a stretch, but a strong younger guy - looking back, it actually should have been Dan but I think I might have switched the order for some reason), GC = James (black guy), Paloma = Peih-Gee (again, a stretch), Dan was put here as a match with no one, Sugar = Courtney (blonde girl out of her element), Marcus = Aaron (strong "boring"? guy), Ace = Dave (male villain), Ken = Frosti (not just that they were both young Asian guys. I wanted to end with pro video game player, and the real show ended with Frosti bc he was the youngest Survivor ever).

So there's the science behind that.

As for this part:

Charlie and Todd are both fourth, and both have "gay" as a description for them. For Todd this made some sense, since most people don't register "gay mormon" very well, so pointing it out probably wasn't a bad idea, but for Charlie it seems a little unnecessary, especially given how you handled Brad in CI (his sexual orientation only came up when he was talking about Adam in one confessional). Perhaps Charlie will be a Todd-esque type winner? When he complained about Ace's lying, it wasn't because he was ethically opposed to it or anything, he just thought that it put Ace in an untrustworthy position with the tribe, given that they know how readily he will lie, but that doesn't mean that Charlie won't be doing his fair share of lying.

You know why Charlie was in the same place as Todd now. With Brad, his sexuality was never a part of the story (and it never came up on the real show either). For Charlie, I left it in partly because I wanted to distinguish him from Dan, as I didn't want to just introduce "two lawyers" but I think Charlie being gay could come more into play with his story. It's certainly nothing major, but you'll see.

Yes, you're right about Charlie's confessional about Ace though, and I guess that maybe wasn't clear. He was saying that, if he was Ace, he wouldn't want people to KNOW he would lie to win the game. Meaning that Charlie himself would lie to win, but he just wouldn't want it to be obvious that he would do this. I hope that makes sense.

Great catch though, and obviously you're extremely observant! :)

Why wouldnt the young strong people like Marcus and Jacquie make an aliance with Matty and Kelly, because it kinda seems a solid aliance right there?
Did nobaody see that there was also a strong threesome between Crystal, Susie and GC, or where they blind to that?

Fang gets cocky and starts to kinda implode because of the clashing personalitys and distrust between them.

I thought it was really well-written and very true to character. The things that didn't happen in the show, like the Kelly/Matty alliance, seemed very real to me. I liked Crystal a lot more in your story, even though she really wasn't too different than how she was on the show!
