Probst's pick for dumbest "Survivor" move ever. |

We got Jeff to give us answer to some all-time "Survivor" questions. But, cause we're jerks, we're doling them out one at a time.

erik got played by those girls. he would've definitely won. would've been the best winner yet.

Jeff is such a fucking retard.
How could he even say that Erik would've been one of the best winners ever had he won? Erik played a completely shitty game up to the final 5. |

he couldn't have beaten cirie. but he would've definitely destroyed parv. and at that tribal council, natalie would've been gone anyways. even
though he sucked at the game he would've been a great winner just because he's so happy go lucky. although some cirieownage wouldve been 20x better

Ian's still worse, as Tom's bullshit finally got to him.

Jeff bases his logic and decision on Erik winning the last two challenges but anyone could have won that Final IC as it wasn't based on athleticism at all.

Ian's worse.
It's pretty stupid to give Immunity to someone you've lied to, or take the "nice, deserving mom" to the finals when you know she's likable, but both Erik and Colby did those things because they foolishly thought they would look better in front of the Jury because of them. It's dumb logic, but at least it's game-related. Ian actually somehow got it into his head that he needed to make moral amends to a woman that he had lied to and whose feelings he had hurt in the context of a game that is about lying and hurting other people's feelings. It was absolutely idiotic, but it was also simply delusional. Did he honestly think Katie would have hated him if she had been voted out? Heck, she'd probably have voted for him from the Jury. |

First off, just wanna say that this is an awesome feature. I'm guessing all of Probst's answers are already taped but if you happen to do this again
for S18, I'm sure Sucks can give you tons of potential questions.
Anyway, almost every stupid move is an offset of a brilliant one--James looked like an idiot not playing the idols, but it wouldn't have mattered if it weren't for Amanda's plan to blindside him. Just as Jeff tries to justify Colby's move as Tina manipulating him, the same thing goes for Ian/Tom and Erik/the women. One of the very few dumb moves that I can think of that didn't come as a result of a smart move is Samburu not coming together either at F9 with Kelly or F8 forcing a tie against Big Tom (who had the most votes out of everyone besides the immune Lex) to take down Boran. Would've been a great comeback. But I guess you could argue that Lex was smart enough to pull Brandon over to Boran, even though I wouldn't really classify that as a brilliant move by any means; more of a mutual mistake on both their parts that blew up in their faces the very next round. |

I was really expecting Jeff to pick James not playing the idols as the dumbest. But he didn't and I was thinking "Oh, he isn't so stupid" and
then he says Erik would have been one of the best winners ever. Erik. Need I say:

Ian stepping down was dumb, but not because it cost him the million dollars. Say what you want but Ian understood very well that it was going to cost him
the million dollars and he decided it was worth it to him. He did it for his own self interests. He saw himself at one of the defining moments in his life and
his judgment was that he would be a happier person for having friends, fans, self-respect and the respect of others, than for having money. If he got all that
from it, he'd have wound up better than most of the people who go on the show. Here's what's stupid: There's a big reason he made that decision
that I didn't list just now. He wanted Katie. He'd gotten very emotionally attached to her and he believed that if he did this incredible thing for
her, she would repay him with love and sex and gratitude forever. She didn't. If she even talked to him again more than passingly after the show it's
news to me. Since she never offered him any of that it's not good strategy on her part, it's blinding idealism and romanticism on his part and a
pitiful lack of understanding of how these things work. I'm not sure he had a shot with Katie anyway but I think he actually killed his shot with her at
that moment by creating such a gross inequality and stifling pressure within their relationhip. He emotionally blackmailed her into a kind of informal
prostitution - he tried to buy her with money and pressure her into not choosing anyone else with enormous guilt. Almost any guy might have thought that was a
good idea and most of us have tried it on a smaller scale at one time or another. It's an awful idea. So he was dumb to give up the million dollars for a
goat eating an apple behind Door Number Three and to end up with nothing, including self respect and the respect of others, because not only are we making fun
of him but you've gotta know he feels naive and publically humiliated by a girl. Awful.

Anyone interested in putting the video on youtube so that those of us outside the US can watch?
It sounds like Erik's handing over of Immunity was JP's pick for lamest ass move in Survivor History, but would be great to be able to follow this series on the web. |

I'd have to say that Lex and Kathy keeping Amber over Jerri was the stupidest move in any season. Amber had absolutely no loyalty to them and they chose "freindship" over strategy. Then they whined and cried when they got played. Dumbest. Move. Ever. Oh, and Probst really does look like shit in that video! What has happened to him?! |

Agree with Probst on the decision here, although I do rank these as 1) and 2). Erik had the women bashing him non stop, had no reason to believe that he'd
actually be kept in the game if he gave up immunity... and he gave it up!?!?! I think the only thing that could ever surpass that was if they went back to F2,
someone had the F3 immunity, and gave it to someone else, who voted them out.
I do agree that Probst is an asshat though for saying that Colby wasn't dumb because he got played by Tina, then said basically the same thing about Erik. WTF!?!?! |
